"Q&C wasn't fancy shmancy - it was simple and I really don't have a complaint about it. It was minutes of walking distance to just about everything! 8-10 minutes to French Qtr. 5 minutes from WWII Museum/Casino. We stayed in room 615 on sixth floor, had a fair view. The room was very small, but that's all my husband and I needed. Good sized bathroom. The bed was A-MAZE-ING...we both agreed we got some of the most restful sleep we'd had in a long time! Very clean linens. I absolutely would recommend it to anyone, but don't go with astronomical expectations - this isn't THAT hotel."

"We were there to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. I have never been to the city before. I thought the hotel was in a great location, easy to get everywhere we wanted to go. The rooms were very small but had everything we needed. We were supposed to be on a non smoking floor, however, on night 3, we came back to our room and it REAKED of cigarette smoke. We called the main desk and they came and checked it out and then moved us to a different floor. So, I was quite happy with the service. The free breakfast was also good. The hotel bar was nice and inexpensive!!!"

"Trouble with door to room/locking device jammed. They gave me new room. Then the heat in second room did not work. Engineering came up about 1 hour later and got the heat working. Staff were very friendly and did their best considering that its an old hotel!"

"We just arrived home after spending Christmas 2012 at the Queen & Cresent hotel. This was our 2nd trip to NOLA and our 2nd time staying there. While we did expect it to be more festive as far as decorations, we were ok with what was there but we did have a problem we didn't expect. This hotel is old therefore the heating/AC isn't up to date, you either have heat or you have AC. We froze our 1st night there and upon reporting it, they had someone come immediately to 'fix' it. Only thing is, it got too hot and we couldn't get it to cool and had to call again. Upon his arrival he told us the above info. so we knew then we either had one or the other which made it hard since the weather went from hot to cold our whole visit. We will either go during a month when we don't have to deal with this or stay somewhere else even though we love staying there in all other ways."

"Everything was fine in this hotel. It's an older hotel so you should expect it to have some of the quirks older buildings may have but all in all this is as good as any hotel I've stayed at. It was clean and the staff was very helpful. Only thing I'd recommend I'd say is that they need something in the rooms for propping up the luggage; we basically had to keep everything on the floor as there was nowhere to put a suitcase on, and there were only two hangers in the closet. But really... it was a great bang for the buck, and more than that, it was very pleasant."

"Don't stay at this hotel unless you bring a personal lock for the room. My daughter in law and I stayed there and got a wake up call at 8:45 AM even though we did not request it. Shortly after that someone opened our door with his own key to our door and after returning from breakfast I have stayed in the Queen and Crescent before but will not do so in the future."

"This was my third stay at the Q&C. It is a boutique hotel with pleasant and helpful staff and much more than adequate service. I experienced a problem with room AC on my first night. The maintenance staff immediately corrected the problem. As others have noted, parking is something of a problem with the least expensive presently costing $25 a night in close-by public areas. But that is a problem in most large cities. Since I do not demand or expect costly personal services, I find the Q&C a very comfortable center of operations to enjoy New Orleans or just to rest up between excursions. At roughly half the cost of the upscale hotels, I won't hesitate to recommend staying at the Q&C.

"The room was extremely small and dirty. No coffee maker, refrigerator or microwave. The front desk clerk was rude and not helpful. A $20.00 resort fee was required at check-in and the only option given for parking was to use the hotels valet service at $35.00 per day tip. We parked 1 block away for $15.00. I've stayed in better 2 star motels! I would not recommend this hotel. "

"This was the smallest hotel room I have ever been in. There was no room in the bathroom to set anything. No room to move around. No coffee maker, etc.
When checking out, the staff told me they could not give me a bill, since this was an third party reservation. Never had that happen before. Valet parking price for 3 nights was horrible. The resort fee made no sense, since this hotel is not a resort. Never used the safe, etc.
The hotel had a very musty, moldy odor."

Loved the location. Loved my room, except for the shower size and shower head that would not move down, hit straight in face the whole time. Elevators slow.
I liked the parking, but not for $25 day. Also, I paid $9.95/day resort fees and don't know what for, it is not a resort. Resorts include parking in your room fee.
But, I would stay here again. It was sufficient for our needs.

"I have stayed here a half dozen times over the past 7 years. I like the location and the price. I have always found the staff to be friendl and helpful. As far as the rooms go, hmmmmm. Yep, they are really small and old, but I have always had a comfortable bed. The a/c is loud and bounces off and on, but at least it works. They could do a better job cleaning the bathroom and keeping the lavatory faucets repaired so they don't leak all over the vanity when turned on. However, for a stay in Nola, where only a minimum amount of time is spent in your hotel room, it is a good value. Plus, I like being able to park my car at hte Public lot adjacent to the hotel and not having to use valet parking."

"The lobby wasn't bigger than my living room, and I live in a condo.
ROOMS:::The rooms are SMALL. We had the front desk allow us access to a different room because we couldn't believe the size of our room. She mentioned that we had one of the bigger rooms. After viewing the other room she was right, our room was bigger but that's not saying much. The rooms had these wall blocks that were about 3ft on either side of the room that could open it up. We had two double/queen beds and between the bed and the tv/desk there was LIMITED walking space. AIR Conditioner... the air was either on or off, the air blew so cold, and with the room being soooo small it froze us out, even during the daytime.
BATHROOM: dingy, hair in tub, mold, small
BED: time for replacement
RATE: rate was good although they have a fine print 'resort fee'per day, which was refunded to us due to a lack of...
Stay here if you don't mind dirty bathrooms, a moist smelling enviroment, and close sleeping quarters. ewwwww never again

"My daughters and I stayed at this hotel in New Orleans. Upon our arrival we noticed the smoke detector top half was missing. When the maintenance man came and repaired the detector, he left some wiring on the floor. There was an old fast food cup in the window of the room. The room had a very small TV. Looked like a 12 inch screen. The continental breakfast was very poor. Juice, coffe, milk with cold cereals and danishes. The front desk staff was not very helpful. We will not be staying there again."

Hotel was clean but expected more for $200/night. Beds not great we had to request a new room because one bed was sunk in and the other was a brick, not to mention the 19inch tv. Room was clean (decent) except for the mat in the tub. It was filthy, had to request it be changed. Seems that should be automatic for each new checkin. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful
If you're on a right budget this is ok. But next time I would seek more quality even if it cost a little more."

"I have stayed at this Hotel about 4 or 5 times and every time has been great. But this last time my husband and I went to spend a weekend together and we stayed at the building across from the main building, never stayed in that one before, I always stay in the main building. It was ok except the bed was horrible!!! I didn't know they even made mattresses that were that hard! It would have been more comfortable to sleep on the floor! Which I might have done but there was a huge spot on the floor that was very very sticky and wet and it never got cleaned. I tried to clean it up myself but what ever it was was staying! Our room key never worked to open the main door to the hotel. But the worst was the bed!! Hard as a rock! I will make sure I stay in the main building. But my husband said we will never stay there again. We didn't have an ice bucket or cups in the room and when we went to get cups we were told that it would be a $1 a cup and that pissed us off, and the ice bucket never made it to our room after we asked for one 3 times and finally we got one the night before we were going to leave. So housekeeping was crappy! The rate was great and the location. I am New Orleans all the time and know of way better hotels to stay in and I probably wont be going back to this one!! The walls are like paper also. We could hear our neighbor all night, they had their TV on all night and SO LOUD!! Then they left the next night and a group of drunk people stayed and we loud and drunk all night! Very thin walls. But when I stayed there before I stayed in the main building and it was way better, comfortable beds, clean ans quite. So if you stay here make sure you stay in the main building because I think the other building needs repairs and I was on the 4th floor and the rooms are very very very close together!"

"Although the room I was in was a little older looking then the previews. I'm not sure if that was because I was in what appeared to be the first of the two tower like buildng or not. The stay for the most part was great. The contiental breakfast was nice. Its wasnt elaborate but had a mixture of things. The orange juice was great though. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly especially the housekeeping. Housekeeping was very friendly and accomodating with all request and very attentative. Overall the location to the different downtown ammenities was great. Walk a few blocks and you can go everywhere."

"My overall stay was good. However, I do agree about the hidden charges of 9.95 per day for internet use and other ammenities. There is also a different price for parking listed online than when you acutally arrive. I'm assuming there was a price change becuase of the special event that particular weekend. (Essence Festival). I think the price changes should be listed visibly so that guests can be aware and have the fees taken care of accordingly. The beds are particulary small and the sheets do have a tendency to slide right off. The hotel seemed to be understaffed this particular stay but their overall service was good. The continental breakfast should be stepped up a notch. It wasn't that great but the New Orleans roast coffee was a hit for me. I would stay there again and recommend it to friends and family."

"I agree with others reviews, close to French Quarter but not much else. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets came off as soon as you sat on it. "I wanted a hotel close enough to the French Quarter without all the excess noise. And I got just that. Only a few blocks to the party. The hotel was clean, the continental breakfast was good, and the service was friendly. The only two complaints: the beds were incredibly uncomfortable, but nothing a little extra stretching in the morning couldn't fix. Also, there was a lack of COLD water. Over-abundance of hot water, but forget any cold water from the faucet. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay. We may return to this hotel, but probably not only because we'd like to try something new next time. Another hotel with a more comfortable bed. However, we wouldn't complain if this was the only hotel available."

"I booked 2 rooms for a trip to New Orleans with my daughters and 2 of their friends for a bachelorette party. I asked for rooms on the same floor. As advertised the rooms weren't ready until 4 and then just one. I asked whether another one on that floor would be available later and was told yes so we took the first room to use to change and go out. When we came back we were told our other room was on a different floor. Not a huge deal, but in general the staff was aloof and not helpful except the bartender who couldn't have been nicer. "Contrary to recent reviews I found the Q&A a very nice place to stay. The staff could not have been more professional and helpful. You can tell that the GM and her staff puts a lot of effort into making the hotel welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. Yes its a older hotel, but we loved the history of it. The linens were fresh and crisp. We were on the 10th floor and which is a smoking floor and honestly housekeeping did everything they could to keep the floor fresh and clean smelling.
I appreciate the extra effort. No complaints - none. As a matter of fact we extended our stay by one night and the Q&A will be my families home away from home every time we visit New Orleans. It was worth twice what I paid per night. Congrats to Lanell Duffourc and her staff for a perfect family vacation."

"This hotel is perfect for young backpackers or travelers who are not picky and like good value for a good price. Not my number one choice for a romantic stay.
The hotel was very convenient : very close to the French quarter.
A breakfast with muffins, bread, juice, coffee, milk, cereals and banana bread was included. Cool! They also have a little room next to the front desk with a computer and a printer. It was very nice to be able to print our boarding passes, etc. The staff was helpful and friendly.
The rooms' furniture was nice and the beds were very comfortable.
However, the linen, although clean, were not the whitest white and could need a change, the wallpaper and carpet floor would also need a change. This hotel is a good value but would need maintaining and refreshing. I would still go back, not for a romantic stay but definitely for cultural visits with friends."

My only negative comment would be the breakfast. It is a case of first come, first get the best available. "we purchased the queen bed room w 2 free passes for the swamp tour. did we get vouchers for this upon check in? NO we did not. our room was at the 2nd part of the hotel across the street. the bed felt like a rock. our room was located between two rooms with people who partied/ in & out til 4am...i know management can't control that, but the 2 inch gap between the bottom of the door and floor sure let the noise seep in every time they were yelling to each other & opened and slammed their doors shut. continental breakfast was in a stuffy room with barely any poor choices left, we walked in and out at 9am. ....and now for the icing on the cake, there was a horrible stinch in the room....finally figured it out in the morning when i stood under the a.c. vent.....i believe there was a dead rat up there. i told the front desk across the street about this. mgmt may want to still check this out- it's room 616."

"Loved the location and how the hotel was right in front of a public parking place. I do not recomend valet parking at any hotel in new orleans quite frankly unless you tip them VERY WELL. Room wasn't too bad for the money, although the air didnt really work very well and you could tell that it was a very old building. The staff wasnt that bad when I was there, I did get some free swamp tour tickets for booking with the hotel, but they didnt provide transportation to the place to meet @ and it was like 45 minutes away so we didnt go. It was like 24 a person for transportation so you'd be better off just buying it from one of the travel booths. We also went on the haunted history tour of the french quater, that was very interesting and I would recommend it to anyone."

"I was a bit nervous to book my stay due to not so nice ratings. But the price couldn't be beat and I went for it. When my husband and I first checked in they gave us a small, dark, motel-feeling room with a view of a cement wall. We asked if we could change rooms, one with a bigger bed and a view. Boy did they provide what we asked for. They put us in a large room with a king size bed, beautiful, clean bathroom amd a view from the 12th floor. Thank you, our stay was great. Another plus is the housekeeping staff does not disturb you if you that the Do Not Disturb Sign out. They slip a note under your door if you want housekeeping service yo call them. The only thing I would recommend is to have fiited sheets on the bed and not flat sheets tucked in. They always got untucked."

"My experience at this hotel was a fairly good one. There was a fee for the internet, which turned out to be mandatory. I'd have paid it anyway, because I like to have internet access when I stay at a hotel, but I did think it was a bit of an underhanded way of lowering their list price on paper while actually charging more. The room itself was adequate. My only complaint was that the bed wasn't all that comfortable, plus there was no bedspread, only a very thin blanket. The staff were very friendly and helpful whenever I needed them, and the price and location made any minor annoyances I did suffer absolutely tolerable. All in all, I would definitely recommend the place to anyone wishing to visit New Orleans on a budget"

"When we got there they charged us $9.99 for stuff we didnt use or want like phone, wifi and breakfast. Went down for breakfast the first day and it was a joke. Toast, cold ceral, coffee, orange juice, and a crum cake. We ate out every morning. Drain in bathroom sink wouldnt drain, light switch was broke had to screw and unscrew bulb. The door was open when we got there. Maid came in room even though we said no thank you. She made me sign a slip in my underwear. Alarm clock didnt work and no wake up call even though we asked for one. Front staff was nice. Didnt like the joke the bell hop said when we left. They were going to raise the price for breakfast because someone pigged out on it. Great a higher unexpected fee for something we didnt use. Will stay at a different place the next time we are in New Orleans. If it wasnt for us waking up we would have missed our flight. NOT COOL!"

Notwithstanding that it was a pretty good value at almost $100 a night the room we had no windows to open, the key shot was very challeging to open and we could hear every conversation next door. The front desk staff were awful! They acted like this was the last place they wanted to be. Housekeeping staff were pretyty good though they kept bugging us on our last day. The checkout is 11a which is crazy in this day and age and after staying there for six nights we only got an 1hr extention on checkout. Hotel has old-world charm but needs lot of work..."

"somethings were VERY disappointing - never was told there were 2 buildings; toilet overflowed and tile was dryed with towels not cleaned or sanitized then the carpet was never dryed with a WetVac so we walk on a wet carpet for our entire stay; the A/C unit was broken so the fan ran and ran and never did recycle; never did get the Do Not Disturb sign for the door ( and we did tell them) and then there was the crying baby . . . And the FREE swamp tour tickets -- we were NOT told that we had to pay the $50 fare to get there so what was free? and then on top of that a 8.95/day fee to use the phone that we didnt need nor the internet what a rip off so recalculate YOUR discount; isn't what you say!! It would be nice to get some rebate on this 'DEAL' as the deal was not such a big deal - I may use the service again but I wont go back to this property"

"This hotel is pretty bad. I stayed during the first week of jazzfest. It is no mystery why this hotel was one of the very few with last minute vancancies available. The beds don't have bed spreads, only a sheet and a throw blanket. My sheets were dirty(when I asked for another set of sheets, a janitor came to door, gave me the sheets then turned and walked away). The door to the closet was broken. I was given 1 face towel. The lights in the ceiling had no covers on them, just exposed light bulbs. The valet does not greet you, he sits in his car in front of the hotel until you are literally taking your bags out of your vehicle, then he approaches you... it was pretty weird....... This hotel was simply pretty bad."

"At $84.00 a night the room was very nice. Only two things in the room weren't nice and one was an easy fix .. a panel in the cabinet holding the TV was missing so it made the cabinet look shabby. The AC never seemed to get cold enough and the room (819) always felt warm. I'm sure this is a city law or tax and not necessarily the hotels doing but the $9.97 daily resort fee for using the telephone/internet/safe is a ripoff!! I never used the phone nor safe and when I went to use the internet it did not work. The computer kept telling me that there was a 'security' block and when the hotel got someone to help me I was told that someone from your IT department had to come in and reset the computer. This was Wednesday night and I was leaving on Thursday so that really didn't do me much good. In spite of the above I would still recommend your hotel. The breakfast you offered was delicious and plentiful. I enjoyed it!!"

"Hotel was in a very handy location near the entertainment centre of New Orleans, was very reasonably priced and gave excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were everything I would have wanted. Breakfast was basic and was better if you arrived earlier than later but for the overall package it was fine and better than I expected. My only complaint is that the bedding was only one light blanket and I personally found it too little but realise I tend to feel the cold. That does not detract though from my intention to use the hotel again if I should be lucky enough to return to New Orleans."

"The location of this hotel is a definite plus. The staff was very pleasant. We wished the breakfast or at least the coffee was available after 9:30. We felt like we had to rush downstairs to get it on time. Also the only coffee in the room was decaf. We asked one of the women who worked there and she said that was all they had. We were offered a free swamp tour with our package deal, but opted not to go after we found out it would cost $50.00 for the transportation to and from. The air conditioning could not be regulated. It would constantly run and then get too cold. Then we would have to shut it off and would get too warm. If someone isn't too picky about their room and more concerned about location then I would recommend it."

"The Hotel provided a wonderful starting point for all activities in New Orleans. You're only a couple blocks from the French Quarter and a block from the trolley to the Garden District. We visited the New Orleans Museum of Art, WWII Museum, Audobon Park and Zoo area, Aquarium, and much more without having to get in a car. Buy a trolley pass and you can ride unlimited times. The hotel was standard and well worth the savings in my eyes. We stayed in the south building across Natchez from the main lobby. This building is secured as you have to use your room key to enter. The room was a standard king size bed, chair, table, etc. No love seat or couch, which was fine. The mattress wasn't the best and they gave you no blankets, so that took some adjusting. When we had guests over, they had to bring the chair from their room, which was a slight hassle. The only other inconvience was that the window is frosted over from some reason so you cannot see outside from your room. I didn't ask for an explanation as to why, but found it odd. We would have just been looking onto Natchez and the adjacent building, but it would have been nice to know the weather without picking up my phone or leaving my room. Bathrooms were fine and for being in the middle of the business district, I thought the noise from outside was non-existent. I would gladly stay there again for the same price."

"Hotel was clean and in a good location...HOWEVER; a group of ten, requested 4 rooms with 2 beds. We were told that there would be no problems when we arrived at 1100, 'just ask again when you check in at 4'. At 4, there were 'no doubles available'. When one of our group mentioned that the hotel had accepted a reservation for 4 adults in one room, they were able to find a double, in a different building. When the rest of us asked to speak to the manager, we were told 'they are not available right now, and it's not their fault', staff would not give us names for any manager. A (very) few members of the staff (none at the desk) were helpful in finding restaurants, etc, in the area, recognized my party later and inquired if their recommendations were acceptable."

This time there were only a couple of things that were not up to the usual standards. First, since there were three people staying in the room, there were not enough towels for everyone. There were two of each type towel, and even when the maid was asked for more we didn't get them. The other thing which we had an issue with was that on the second day of our stay, the maid did not replace the foam coffee cups in the room. We had to go down to the desk, which was very busy with check in and outs to get some cups, and the desk agent could only find two for us. Not anything major, but things that do tend to make your stay a bit less a great experience. Would stay there again and would recomend it to anyone that is going to New Orleans."

"The room was filthy. The bathroom had not been cleaned perhaps for years. There was a used bath towel left hanging on the bathroom door. The carpet was filthy and it looked like it had not been vacuumed or cleaned in years. There was no fitted bedsheet. On arrival there was a lineup of at least 20 people, quite a few who had problems getting a room because of over booking. The ladies on the receiving desk did a great job handling all of the complaints but had no one to turn to for back up as there was no supervisory staff on hand. These two ladies were put through one hell of an afternoon. I did not envy them. The valet was great! I had stayed here last year in the other building and had enjoyed my stay, but with the experience this year I will not be returning."

There is a bar downstairs which is nice however, the bartender that was working at night couldn't have been more rude. I have never been treated so terribly. The hotel is in a GREAT location and there are several cute places/hotels to stop in and have drinks at on Camp street."

"This was the 1st time in 57 years that I was able to get to New Orleans. I've always wanted to se and feel the Crescent City life,and my wife made that dream a reality. The hotel gave us a feel of New Orleans. Loved the room decorations and the antiques. Our front desk hostess was the best. She was instrumental in making our stay at the hotel,much more enjoyable. "We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff was friendly upon check-in and throughout our stay. Valet service was timely and efficient upon arrival and departure. Our room was in the building across the street from the main building, but equally as nice. Very unique hotel with lots of character. We were unknowingly upgraded to a corner room with a small sitting room and jacuzzi tub! We were on the top floor with windows partially covered by an exterior wall. There were a few minor problems with our room (toilet ran, iron wasn't working), however, the staff was quick to bring a brand new iron up to the room and, while the toilet still ran, it was overall a great experience. I mean, what can you expect from an old historic building? The rooms were clean and nicely furnished. A quick 5-10 minute walk to the intersection of Canal and Bourbon Streets! The bar staff was knowledgeable and friendly, overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel. Thanks again for the great trip!"

"The hotel was very nice. They had breakfast in the morning. There was a coffee maker, iron, and cable in the room. The room was small but it was very nice and you really dont need a bunch of wasted space. Its the type of room that makes you feel like your in New Orleans and not some big commercial hotel in some huge city. I found the price for the room better than most of the hotels down there for that night. The front desk staff were very helpful letting me keep my bags there until check in time. They were very helpful in getting us a cab in the morning. Would go back and reccomend it to friends and family. Oh the location was perfect for everything I wanted to see and do. Yeah!"

"Due to our jobs we travel quite a bit. I was surprized by the Queen and Crescent Hotel. The staff was friendly, and quite helpful, giving us tips on what to do and the best places for food. Our room was a bit small (but just right for 2 people) and the sunlight comming in through the bathroom window was pretty strong. Remember to close the drapes and bathroom door if your room faces east! Overall it was better than we expected, and we will be back next year!
Our room was clean, and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel cleaning staff dropped us off extra towels upon request.
I also recommend the Commerce, which is a block up for the best breakfast biscuits!
Felix's has the best and cheapest raw oysters and one of the best bloody marys we found.
Get the carriage ride add on for $20 its over $75 if you get it there, and they are very knowledgeable about the French Quarter.
Last but not least go on the Lord Chaz ghost tour! It was great! We have been to NOLA several times and his was one of the best ones. Very funny, and is good for grown ups and kids. (We however brought our own 'special' drinks, so spending 30 minutes in the bar was pretty boring, but felt great on the feet lol!)"

"We recently spent a quick weekend in New orleans for a wedding. The Queen and Crescent was a great location for us, as it is within walking distance of all the locations of the wedding-related activities. We took a shuttle to and from the airport - no need to rent a car. The staff at the desk were friendly, helpful, and professional. Our small room was clean and comfortable. The only drawback was the time it took to check in on a Friday evening. We stood in line in the lobby for 30 minutes waiting to check in. Once we reached the desk, our check-in was very quick because we had booked through Book-it. I would suggest to the hotel that they put on extra desk personnel on Fridays. To guests I would say avoid arriving on Friday between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM."

"The hotel is close to the main street Canal.. approx 3 short blocks. Overall the hotel is clean and quiet at the time of my stay.. "We booked this hotel for 2 nights because of the location and price. I stayed here 2 yrs ago for a bachelorette party. The standard rooms are extremely small; spend the extra money for the queen suite. Ask for a corner room in the second building. The beds were comfy, water was hot, room was clean, and ac worked great. I was only in the room to shower and sleep. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Save yourself a few bucks and park directly behind the hotel on magazine street, its $17/night instead of $32 and you don't have to wait. If your intentions are to explore New Orleans and not the hotel, then this hotel will suffice. Eat breakfast (go early) at the Ruby Slipper down the street and take an evening jazz cruise on Creole Queen. My all-n-all NOLA experience was great- like always!"

"Queen and Crescent was a great place tostay for an event I attended just prior to Labor Day. Unfortunately, during my five day stay there were torrential rains every day. At least the Q&C Hotel was a relaxing place to stay inside some of the time. The room, including the bathroom, was large and decorated nicely. Great mattress and a very large TV. It was a little awkward to have to use a hotel card to unlock the entrance to the building in which I stayed. Sometimes it required multiple swipes before the door would unlock. With heavy rain and 40 mph winds it became very frustrating. Staff was also very helpful in locating my driver's license that I had lost somewhere in the hotel."

First let me say that customer service at bookit.com is superior. As for the Queen and Crescent hotel their front desk is extremely courteous but the housekeeping service was deplorable. We stayed 7 nights and our room was only serviced twice even though I called about it daily. Towels, soap and toilet paper had to be requested and delivered usually after returning from a night out to realize our room had yet to be serviced. A good rate shouldn't be synonymous with poor service."

"Our stay at The Queen and Crescent was very enjoyable. With the Bookit deal, we got free parking and a swamp tour (didn't do this as others who had the same deal said they just saw alligators and no real other wild life...boring for folks from Florida). Have seen reviews where people complained about the continental breakfast not being restocked. I don't know when they were going for breakfast, but everything was restocked continuously, from 7:30 to 9:30. While our deal put us in a second building, the room was clean and housekeeping in the room was good. Only negative was that the hallways in that second building were in need of vaccuming and shampooing. There was a cigarette butt near the elevator on our floor for the entire five days we were there. While this is not the newest hotel, the location was 2 1/2 blocks off Canal Street. Attentive staff. We would stay there again and recommend it to others."

Room was clean, water was hot, shower had great pressure, air conditioner was quiet and VERY COLD, staff was friendly and attentative, BED WAS COMFORTABLE.....yes, a little wear and tear here and there, but all cosmetic.
