This sophisticated mansion offers all the amenities of a grand hotel with the intimacy and personal service found in a fine New Orleans home. With nine modern styled decorated suites in the mansion itself, and five additional suites in the Napolean House located behind the mansion, some visitors come to find the mysteries that lie behind these century old shutters. Pros: I wish the breakfast had a little more variety but it's ok. Cheese and wine was great. They brought it to our room. The shower was awesome I could spend all day there. Our room had a balcony view but the tress blocked the view. On the quiet residential area. There were a lot of taxes on the bill though. Parking is charged daily but it's convinient.

Out of the 4 nights I stayed in this gothic style mansion, I was only impressed with one. A new employee pleasantly greeted me and I even spent almost an hour in the lobby just chatting with her and Brian. The first night was excellent with the exception of me slipping and falling in the marble bathroom due to a maintenance issue in the room I was staying in. The next day I addressed the issue with a different employee due to the fact that Brian was not available. The employee was working his fi... Read more

Came across this guest house whilst browsing last minute deals and my gosh, I'm glad I booked. A wonderful experience from start to finish... Attentive staff, beautiful decor, healthy breakfasts, complimentary wine and a stunning pool area. It felt like a real escape from the hustle and bustle of NOLA, but cross the road and you're in the French Quarter. Wish we could have stayed longer!

the Mansion is chic and convenient. Loved our suite, which felt like we owned the place. The interior decorator deserves to be mentioned ;). It was like living local and really added to the fun. We could order from Buffa's next door 24/7 and could head over to the action when we wanted to with a quick walk to Frenchman, Bourbon or even Jackson Square.

There's one right across the street! One of my favorite things about this hotel was the 24/7 outdoor pool. The way it was lit up at night was breathtaking. I loved this place!!! Stayed for one night during a trip through the area. Gorgeous old house that has been renovated into a hotel. Great location within walking distance to all of the restaurants and sights in the French Quarter. A wine and cheese social was nice and a great surprise. The breakfast was cold cereal and some muffins, but there are plenty of near by restaurants. The staff were attentive and very helpful and the available parking was great in the crowded neighborhood. Great hotel.

Stayed 4 days at the Melrose Mansion and I do not have anything bad to comment. The staff was courteous and very professional. The room was clean and the architecture of the hotel is beautiful. Melrose Mansion was everything I hoped it would be. Beautifully restored property with a great staff, pool and location. We were able to walk just about everywhere from this location. The office staff booked an excursion for us and we were picked up/dropped off right at the property. We used the trolley system to visit the Garden District. There is a flat rate cab fee to and from the airport of $36.00. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Friendly staff, awesome pool, nice breakfast. What more can I say? Quiet at night--far away from the rowdies on Bourbon. Close to Frenchman Street and the live bands. Will stay here again, for sure. Far enough away from the crowds but close enough for a 10-15 minute walk home from dinner/drinks. Room was always clean and we really enjoyed the wine and cheese from 4:30pm to 5:30pm daily--right before a night out. Great job Melrose Mansion!
