Why Stay Here

The Melrose is a classic courtyard mansion with large French windows, roomy balconies with fingerlace ironwork, and pillared verandas. A grand staircase takes guests to their rooms.

Resort Details

This sophisticated mansion offers all the amenities of a grand hotel with the intimacy and personal service found in a fine New Orleans home. With nine modern styled decorated suites in the mansion itself, and five additional suites in the Napolean House located behind the mansion, some visitors come to find the mysteries that lie behind these century old shutters. For others, it is the curiosity to experience what it is like to unwind and enjoy the luxuries of a beautifully restored Victorian Mansion after a recent $2 million renovation. At the completely NON SMOKING Melrose, the attention to detail will make you feel uniquely New Orleans.

Pros: I wish the breakfast had a little more variety but it's ok. Cheese and wine was great. They brought it to our room. The shower was awesome I could spend all day there. Our room had a balcony view but the tress blocked the view. On the quiet residential area. There were a lot of taxes on the bill though. Parking is charged daily but it's convinient.

Out of the 4 nights I stayed in this gothic style mansion, I was only impressed with one. A new employee pleasantly greeted me and I even spent almost an hour in the lobby just chatting with her and Brian. The first night was excellent with the exception of me slipping and falling in the marble bathroom due to a maintenance issue in the room I was staying in. The next day I addressed the issue with a different employee due to the fact that Brian was not available. The employee was working his fi... Read more

Friendly staff, beautiful, clean accommodations. We were greeted by a very nice, professional staff member upon check in. I love the fact that they have gated parking. Located in a nice area. Will definitely return!

We stayed at this hotel for our daughter's graduation and enjoyed every minute of the time away from home. Excellent hotel, service was great and staff extremely helpful. Well worth the splurge. This hotel was like a home away from home!

I stayed recently at Melrose Mansion for a business trip. It‚??s a beautiful mansion located in the French Quarter only a short walk from Bourbon Street as well as a number of other ‚??must see‚?? New Orleans locations. When we came in, we were warmly greeted by the staff member on hand. As timing would have it, we were just in time for happy hour inclusive of ‚??young‚?? red and white wines along with grapes and an assortment of cheeses and crackers. Although the wine wasn‚??t your top end C... Read more

Relaxing space, and great, quiet location within walking distance to Bourbon and more importantly Snug Harbor, Spotted Cat...I would recommend for couples, family, or business. Pool was clean and an escape for the New Orleans heat.

Wow! This is the best! Perfect location, staff is amazing, beautiful grounds and facility. We celebrated or 31st Anniversary here and had a blast! Can't say enough good things about it! The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to many area attractions. It has on-site parking for a daily rate, but it is worth every cent. The breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese are exceptional. Everyone on site was friendly and helpful. Super clean and well maintained. We added an addi... Read more

Stay couldn't have been better. Everybody is nice. Centrally located in very close to many restaurants and sites. The pool is 24 hours and that is huge. I have been working on my cannonball since I got here and it has improved vastly. I owe all of my Campbell skills to the Melrose mansion

Came across this guest house whilst browsing last minute deals and my gosh, I'm glad I booked. A wonderful experience from start to finish... Attentive staff, beautiful decor, healthy breakfasts, complimentary wine and a stunning pool area. It felt like a real escape from the hustle and bustle of NOLA, but cross the road and you're in the French Quarter. Wish we could have stayed longer!

the Mansion is chic and convenient. Loved our suite, which felt like we owned the place. The interior decorator deserves to be mentioned ;). It was like living local and really added to the fun. We could order from Buffa's next door 24/7 and could head over to the action when we wanted to with a quick walk to Frenchman, Bourbon or even Jackson Square.
