"My friends and I planned a last minute trip to Jazz Fest, so we knew finding a place to stay was going to be quite expensive. However, we found this hotel and it was reasonably priced and offered some unexpected amenities. We had full access to the St. Charles Athletic Club which was about a three minute walk down St. Charles. We also had a pool and hot tub to relax in. Additionally, we were able to have free breakfast every morning before beginning our NOLA adventures. The last perk was the fact that there was a street car stop a hop, skip, and a jump away from the hotel which, for $3.00, we could ride all day to various places.

Beyond the amenities, the beds were comfy, the staff was incredibly nice, accommodating, and funny, and the ambiance was quaint and quiet. There were many dining and bar choices (featuring some pretty awesome live music) within walking distance as well. We loved every second of staying here and look forward to coming back!"

"We thoroughly checked out this motel before reserving a room. We Knew that it wasn't what one would call a luxury hotel, but it seemed like everyone who stayed there liked it. We LOVED this hotel! First of all, it is outside of the French Quarter and any craziness that might be going on there. We LOVED the French Quarter, but were there during the Arts Festival and it was packed and noisy (and fun!). Arriving back at the hotel, you are greeted with quiet and serenity. The courtyard is lovely. The rooms are not large, but when you go to New Orleans, people, you aren't there to lounge in the rooms. sYou are there to go out, have fun and then come back and go to sleep. The bed are incredibly cozy. The rooms are very attractive. The cleaning and help staff are warm, friendly and very solicitous that you have a good experience. Every morning there is a full buffet style breakfast, consisting of juices, yoghurt, cereals, biscuits and breads, eggs, sausage, waffles and lots of drink choices. It is so wonderful to get up for an early day in the Quarter, have a very convenient and yummy breakfast and then leave for the day. This hotel is located right on the St. Charles Street Trolly line which travels near the WWII and Confederate Museums, and all the way to Canal Street. It is convenient, cheap and comes every ten min or sooner. I am telling you, Maison St. Charles is very attractive, more affordable and very conveniently located. We LOVED this place and will go there again the next time we visit New Orleans. What a great experience!"

"The night we got there our the toilet had pup and the mirrors were full of tooth paste. Requested to be change to another room and they down graded the quality of the room. Paid for a king and ended up in a full bed. Breakfast was nasty, I would never go there again."

"Wow, We were there for Hurricane Issac. We did feel safe. in our room but power
went out so we were left in the dark in the heat. with a little flash light.
offered peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches. The hotel Manager was pleasant andHELPED us find a new hotel That we had to PAY FOR>>>>>.
We are grateful as things could have been worse, but Not a Hotel to chance in Hurricane season. OH Yeah also I had 2 bathing suits and a sweater stolen by the cleaning staff... was not in lost and found spent cab ride money from other side of town to pick up our lost articles that had mysteriously vanished."

"We were pleasantly surprised for many reasons. The hotel rooms we booked looked exactly liked the pictures, including the lobby. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The staff was the friendliest I have encountered in any of my travels. From the groundskeepr to the nice older lady who was working hard by herself to keep the breakfast coming hot and fresh. If we saw staff, they greeted us. We stayed on Canal Street all weekend during a festival and it was very nice to go here and have some quiet downtime for our last day. Plus many local eateries in hoping distance because they are so close. Add to it the street car and we were pleasantly surprised! The exterior is a little dated but it did not take away from the overall quality."

"Haven't been to New Orleans in a long time & chose this due to location & price.
You are near a lot of attractions & trolley comes right in front of motel to go to Bourbon St. & other places.Room was adequate but they need to detail room maintenance like a loose screw here & there & more cosmetic work that would make things a better look. There was a musky smell in elevator that they did address several times but it did linger on but not as bad.Staff was friendly,stay was good but they just need to fine tune their maintenance & quality a hair."

"My teenage son and I hit the big easy for food and fun for a few nights over his spring break. The hotel is well located. My room was comfortable and clean, except the mini frige...it had half empty bottles of water left in it and left over hard boiled eggs. The window only had sheer drapes... no black out drapes. and finally, the shower head was hitting me in mid chest (I'm 6' 2'') my son who is 5' 10 also had to bend over to rinse his hair. The front desk guy was dry and security sat back in their chair and made no effort to be friendly or make you fell welcome. Everything was OK...but with justt a little effort it would have been great."

"I can't say enough good things about the Maison St Charles. I've never been to NOLA before but felt blessed to have wandered on this place on the Internet. We loved it so much we stayed an extra day (8 in all). Convenience, convenience, convenience to everything: trolley, restaurants, Bourbon St., Casino, best little dive restaurants that served manna from heaven for any meal under $10 a piece-forget the big names. Hope to be back in the spring but will treasure the memories forever."

"We have been to New Orleans several times, and I must say that this was a great find! It's only minutes away from the French Quarter and you can hop a ride on the street car that stops at the front door of the lobby. Emril's restaraunt across the street was a special treat, and we enjoyed the quit setting of the courtyards. The breakfast was also better than most hotels offer! Oh yeah and the rooms were very clean and the staff was very friendly! We will be staying here again in the future."
