On the other side of the madness (other side of Canal St.) but just close enough to still be a part of the NOLA spirit. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast (continental) was just enough to get you going before experiencing some of NOLA's fine food. Staff was courteous and helpful. Gym was enough to keep your daily cardio and weight lifting routine in line if that is indeed part of your routine. Pool was simple but refreshing if you've been marching the French Quarter on a hot ... Read more

the hotel is older but restored and nice. The staff is great as is usual with La Quinta Inns. The breakfast is of high quality with alot of room to eat in. There is $30.00 a day parking, but this is normal for New Orleans and the location will make up for it. The location is as good as it greats in New orleans. We have stayed twice and love the location. it is about 1 1/2 blocks off Canal St. About 2 blocks of off St. Charles ave and 2 1/2 from the end of the trolly line. The canal st trolly stop... This hotel used to be a good valve in a great location. Not anymore, the rates have been jacked up and the staff has a caviler attitude towards the herds of guests that check in and check out. In addition, parking has become an obstacle - if you choose valet, they charge you over $30 per day (plus tax). If I were to pay the prices asked at this location, I would stay upscale. Not worth the price paid for the overall experience, look elsewhere for rooming.

The hotel itself was clean enough. However housekeeping never came and took out the trash, made a bed or brought fresh towles once during our stay. The tub did not drain well at all. We had to ask everyone time for towels to be brought up. The staff was completely rude. When I brought this all to the attention to the manager he said he would send someone up once we left for the day. Didn't feel comfortable having someone in our room when we were not there working on a tub drain. The night time ... Read more

This is the 2nd time I've stayed at this hotel. The location is perfect, 2 blocks off the quarter. The service was good, the rooms are decent. The previous stay was fine. Then on the last night I found a huge cockroach in the room. Security came up and chased it around then squished it into the rug. Needless to say I was out of there after that.

No hot water from sink. Shower is either frozen or scalding. Air conditioning bad. Breakfast is meager. Dogs everywhere...must be the only pet friendly hotel in NOLA. Gap between the room door and the floor is a good one inch. However, the staff and concierge are great. The building, itself, is what is in need of attention.

I am a LaQuinta loyalist and rewards member. I'd been intending to try this hotel but kept paying. This was my first stay but it will not be my last. I was very happy with the hotel and the level of service provided by each member of the staff. The Valets were especially carrying and detailed. I found communication to be consistent and detailed. My daughters bridal party stayed here and we had very good service. We used two suites, one for the guys and one for the girls, to get ready in. The suite was large enough for 3 hairdressers to prepare 12 girls hairdos for the wedding. The hotel staff was very accommodating. The front desk girl even remembered my room number when i went down to get an extra room card. My daughter came from Savannah Georgia and brought her dog and we drove from Port Orange Florida. La Quinta is very dog friendly.

Booked through a website, 5 people in a double standard, rollaways available. Not true, and when we arrived, no other room was available. Rollaway a fire hazard, but then you shouldn't allow 5 people to book. Had to change room, first room had wet floor after carpet shampoo. Breakfast bad compared to other chains. Great location though, and kids liked the pool. Valet parking great!

We travel with dogs. La Quinta is very dog friendly. La Quinta New Orleans is no different. Our 2 room suite was beautiful and the bed was super comfortable. The location of this property is perfect if you want to explore the downtown and French Quarter. The only reason that I only gave the property a rating of 4 is due to the fact that they had no pet area. We were told that we would have to walk a couple of city blocks to Lafayette Square.
