Rooms were very clean. Housekeeping very responsive. Bell and desk staff extremely attentive to guests. Avoid all the places you shouldn't bother with and go right to the best places by asking the bell crew. They were on target with every restaurant and tour selection they suggested. Bar was superior. The only thing missing was a rooftop pool.

Wedding weekend for niece. This is where both families and bride stayed rehearsal night and bride & groom on wedding night. We had made arrangements for their suite to have rose petals and bottle of champagne awaiting them. Not only was that not done but the room was NOT even cleaned after we all left for church. Bride and groom walked into their suite and were devastated to find nothing had been attended to. I mean with 6 bridesmaids and a bride prepping it needed cleaning. Can you imagin... Read more

My husband and I traveled to NOLA to celebrate our wedding anniversary over the Memorial Day weekend. After researching several hotels we picked the International House and it was one of the best decisions we made. From the start we received a welcome email from the hotel's manager. We were fortunate enough to work with Dean Floyd in Guest Services who helped us plan our trip from beginning to end. He made reservations for dinner, suggested restaurants and booked a tour, he is the best!! It... Read more

No. It's not what you think it is. The room is the cheapest room in the hotel and here's why: it has no windows. We stayed in the Rockstar Room and absolutely loved it!! Who needs windows and the stupid sun after a night of boozing. Highly recommend.

Unlike with some hotels, the more you pay for a room here, the better it is. Each of their tiers of rooms is unique. But having stayed in one of their more economical rooms, as well as some of the others, I can recommend them all. They are all beautiful, interesting, and unique. And a must for me--the beds are extremely comfortable. Loa, inside the lobby, is one of my favorite little bars--a dark, intimate, candlelit boozy affair with hand-crafted cocktails with an emphasis on herbs. After a ... Read more

This hotel was really nice. Walking distance to everything-French Quarter, trolleys, riverfront. Beds are comfortable and rooms are spacious. The hotel lobby is very unique and interesting. They have their own bar. They serve granola and fruit along with coffee and tea for breakfast which I didn't expect. If you go there, get Johnny to help you with your bags and any other questions you may have. Very knowledgable guy. I would stay here again.

This is a sweet little hotel. It's long history means the rooms here are smaller than the big brand hotels, but they have been stylishly redone with nice furnishings and roomy, comfortable bathrooms. The price in this convenient location just cannot be beat. I enjoyed the smaller hotel feel, with a mellow lobby bar and quick and easy access to everything. Staff were friendly and helpful at every step, and were ready and available for any extra help I might need. Staff had excellent suggestions w... Read more

Nice front door staff. Great location for walking to the French Quarter. Room is very average with an older decor. Once in the room, it is very quiet. There is a wide variety of channels on the television, which is a Sony nicely hung on the wall.

The hotel is big and yet managed to maintain it's boutique like nature, with a lot of investment into the smallest details the owner managed to create a unique and relaxing environment to reflect the city mode. Upon entrance you are welcomed by a smiley, helpful bell-boy (it takes a minute to realize he is the hotel employee as of the light nature of his conduct) and a pleasant, ever so light sent of flowers coming from the numerous candles all over the lobby. The hotel is an urban-chick design,... Read more

I enjoyed 1 night at the hotel on July 31, 16. The first feeling was the staffs here are very nice. The concierge & receptionist were very nice talking and funny. 2nd, they have a nice looking bar at the lobby. Location s so great too, Easy to walk to French market & very near to Bourbon st, and near the cheap parking place: $25 for 24h, just some walk. But the most made me impress was: when i left, i forgot an evelope of money on the bed while i was trying get tip for the housekeeping. I just ... Read more

The minute you pull up there is courtesy service at the door. Very nice and polite staff unfortunately I don't remember names very well but everyone was so nice. Any questions you have they are quick with responses and helpful with recommendations. We didn't do the bar there but ppl were there laughing it up. Overall great experience and would definitely stay again. Side note if you're driving be ready for a $35 a night charge for parking. It's valet but hey no scratches or dents so I was happy!... I so enjoyed my trip to IH and the main reason was the personnel. From being greeted at the door by a very helpful doorman and then receiving a wonderful restaurant tip from Nick the barman, I am looking for the opportunity for a return trip. A boutique hotel with a very different, warm atmosphere. And, what a superb location.

Well located hotel, close to the main streets, but far from the crowded area . Room was daily served and also well done. However it smelt of mold. The front desk team should be more friendly and smile a little more. However a good hotel, I would suggest it and come back.

From the minute the doorman assisted us in we knew this was going to be a lovely experience and it was. Reception staff were quick and efficient room and bathroom were amazing with everything including make up remover cloth, downside was breakfast very basic apple, banana or cereal bar tea or coffee. Walking distance to all attractions. Loved Bourbon Street atmosphere is fantastic. Valet parking costs 35 dollars you can park it yourself in same carpark used by hotel for 17 dollars

I read reviews on this website before every trip. The reviews I read were great and made this a easy pick for my first family trip to New Orleans. Not all of my stay is bad walking into the hotel I smelled a great aroma of citrus smells from the bar and lobby area well lighting. Justin that worked at the front desk made our stay extremely polite and helpful not enough I can express about how he made this hotel worth it. So they accommodated our request for a higher floor. Now to our room 1001 wa... Read more

This boutique hotel is not like most. From the cool, laid back-but attentive staff to the beautiful, funky decor this hotel from the moment you step into the International House you know it's going to be a great experience. After spending the day at the Saints game and making our own oyster trail with friends we retired to our hotel. Still hungry the incredible front desk ordered us pizza from a local pizza place. While we waited for our pizza we had a drink at the haunting Loa bar. As we s... Read more

As a frequent traveler to New Orleans I have stayed at many different hotels. My go to hotel was not available so I decided to try International House and I am so glad I did. This is now m #1 choice for New Orleans. The staff, atmosphere, bedding, bathrooms, lobby, bar all were OUTSTANDING!!! From the moment you walk in you will know you are in a classy above average place. The location gives easy access to just about anywhere you want to go and far enough off Bourbon for a good nights sleep.

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay outside the French Quarter and happened upon a link to International House. We clicked on the images and decided to book it based on how the rooms looked. We were pleasantly surprised (based on a recent overseas experience) that the photos did not deceive us. The rooms are modern, yet very comfy. The bathroom has a great, deep soaking bathtub. We were on the 7th floor facing Camp Street. The street noise was surprisingly not too bad for bei... Read more

I'm furious at the way I was treated by this supposedly "high-end hotel." Due to a problem with my reservation caused by their difficult to use online booking system I was charged twice for the same night. Their management decided the best way to resolve the issue was to blame the customer. Great businesses do right by their customers and don't nickel and dime them when mistakes happen. Add to that incredibly loud street noise and poor housekeeping. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anybody.
