We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! They went above and beyond to make us feel very special for our anniversary. We had wine, fruit and a chocolate covered Oreo waiting for us. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite. The staff was very helpful, accommodating and nice, it's in a great location and clean. Very impressed! We look forward to staying here again in the future!

This hotel is perfectly located just outside the Quarter. Walking distance also to the WW II museum. Very good mattress in a very comfortable room. 75 cent oysters during happy hour from 3-6. Only thing missing was free breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

We booked this hotel from Hotwire, so it was a surprise for us. It was a very pleasant surprise. This hotel was first class all the way. Very helpful staff, from the time you get out of your car till you leave. Don't get anything from the fridge. Look closely at the prices.

Erik Fabacher, the Front Office Manager greeted us and welcomed me by name and thanked me for being a loyal IHG member. We had one free night (thanks to the IHG Mastercard) and I paid for the 2nd night. The hotel was running a promotion and I received an additional 600 points for my stay. Yippee! After about 5 minutes being in the room, the Executive House Keeping Manager stopped by to make sure the everything was perfect. We were given a spacious room with a balcony in the back of the hotel... Read more

Very well appointed hotel. Valet takes a while to retrieve the car since the garage apparently isn't close so call 10-15 minutes ahead. Streetcar stop is close by and it's an easy walk to Canal and Bourbon St. Concierge was so very friendly and helpful.

Mr. Romano and his staff do an excellent job taking care of their guests. The hotel is very clean and well-appointed. Taxis are plentiful out front, and the streetcar also stops near the entrance. Our room was very quiet the first night of our stay, but the next two nights, during the weekend, there was more street and hallway noise. Having turndown service was a nice touch. We met with the concierge to book tours and he provided a map, marked with useful landmarks for the places we wanted go to... Read more

Pretty loyal to the Intercontinental brand but had never stayed at the location in New Orleans until now. Set a few blocks off Canal Street it was quieter than the convention hotels I was always compelled to stay at on other business trips. Like a lot of Intercontinental properties, it looked like they converted an existing hotel. Lobby and bar were nice although the car entrance off the street was a little awkward given the traffic pattern but not a big deal. Usual amenities and the rooms w... Read more

We met up for a family function and the staff I encounter was very helpful and nice. They gave suggestions on where to go and even printed out directions when needed. Very nice bar/ restaurant area. I didn't eat here but we all drunk a whole lot. It was very nice. Only down thing was house keeping didn't clean my room one day and the room I had door didn't slam close like it was supposed to, so my room door was left open one day. Thankfully nothing happened.

George was the concierge when we stayed here. He was so helpful with dinner reservations, but the best thing ever was the day we were flying out. We asked about the possibility of weighing our bags (since I tend to pack on the heavy side) and he had the greatest gadget for weighing them in advance so you can avoid the embarrassing opening and switching things around at the airport!! Thanks for all your help George!!

The location is close to the tram line and central city. It is within walking distance to the paddle wheeler as well. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. It was quiet and very comfortable. The staff were very helpful especially when we had airline bag problems. The food is excellent at the restaurant. Unfortunately our experience was spoilt by a group with very drunk shrieking women. It was also freezing cold in the restaurant. Overall it was a very nice place to stay.

This was my first stay at InterContinental and I will be definitely returning. The room was clean and well kept. My wife and I enjoyed the premium toiletries that they carry. Check in was perfect and all the staff were friendly and courteous. The location was great. It is a short walk to the French Quarter but far enough away that it's quiet. The taxi stand was always full. We also found a great cafe about 100 yards away, Daisy Dukes Cafe. The breakfast was phenomenal.

Great hotel, clean and well kept rooms/corridors. Only downside was the noise levels at times. You can hear people talking in the hallways/babies crying if your room is next door to new parents/kids. I didn't mind it too much as we were mostly out enjoying the city. The wifi speeds are decent, walking distance from the French Quarter. Good restaurants nearby, the hotel's own restaurant Trennasse is amazing as well!

It was memory from 2009. I was in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Wonderful parade, wonderful jazz, wonderful people, and wonderful jambalaya! Now I'm ready to go walking and check out the sights!! I love it here, do I have to leave???

This hotel always exceeds our expectations. The room was great and felt luxurious. The shower was large and fantastic, despite a slight rotten smell coming from the drain at times. The restaurant in the hotel offered $.75 fantastic oysters that we took advantage of every night. The pool on the 15th floor is about typical in size for New Orleans properties, but was refreshing during the hot weather. Its best feature is the location, which is great to explore NOLA, especially the french quartier: far enough to be quiet, but near enough for walking to bars, restaurants, theatres and most of attractions. This is a very good place to stay. Rooms are very comfortable. Concierge is very helpful. All employees were very friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs. Always had a smile when I encountered them. The only negative is that parking is astronomical. There is no reason for parking to cost so much. I would love to have a return visit but will probably stay outside the city due to the high cost of parking.

Great location to enjoy the city. Close to the French Quarters as well as close to the River Walk. In walking distance to the casino's as well as surrounded by some of New Orleans's best restaurants in the area.

I booked just one night specifically to have enough room for me and two old friends to stay up late after dinner and chat until the wee hours. We were given a corner room with large windows and lots of space: so nice. I think it was also quieter with a door at the very end of a hallway (no one walking past). The amenities were nice and the staff accommodating (we requested extra towels and a late checkout). I was impressed with the people and how nice the room was; I'd definitely consider the In... Hotel is very clean and classy, hotel staff is friendly and the buffet breakfast is awesome. Well done Intercontinental New Orleans.

Nice, clean hotel! No need to go anywhere for Brunch, theirs was top notch! Or you could go across the street to Luke. It was an easy walk across Canal to French Quarter but far enough to be away from the noise. Definitely staying here next time we visit!

When looking for a hotel in New Orleans - for me, location and service are my most important factors. Location: Right in downtown New Orleans; 4 blocks to Canal St. and the French Quarter; 5 blocks to the riverfront; St. Charles Streetcar stop is right across the street. Easy bus lines everywhere. 2 great restaurants in the hotel (Trenasse for dinner; Pete's for breakfast/lunch). It is quiet at night; just far enough away from the French Quarter hustle and bustle. The location was perfect to walk to National WWII Museum, Bourbon Street, French Market, the casino and the river front. There are a million restaurants nearby as well as their own Trenasse inside the hotel. Great service and good food at Trenasse! They provided coffee in the lobby when I got up at 5:30 a.m. but much to my demise it was put away by 6:45 a.m. when I went to get a second cup. Hotel is full of horrible service. Concierge, front desk, breakfast waitstaff. I had a couple issues with my room and had to make multiple requests to get each issue fixed. The staff at the breakfast buffett was rude and barely there. A couple next to us got up and had to get their own coffee after waiting a while for a server to come by. I felt like I was staying at a cheap motel not an Intercontinental Hotel. Now the positives: Housekeeping Location

We usually stay close to the river but acquired a gift certificate for part of the stay for this trip so decided to book entire stay at the Intercontinental. Upon arrival we checked our luggage and had our first day on the city to return around 6pm and actually check-in to our room. Not a nice experience. After completing everything as per the certificate I had, the manger on duty was very rude and not customer friendly, AT ALL. He asked all the questions but never gave me the benefit of the do... This is a nice hotel. In town for a conference, I had a corner double-queen room on the 9th floor. Good room size, comfortable beds, quiet, city views, great lemon verbena-scented bath amenities. Although when I go to New Orleans on a personal trip I prefer to stay in the Quarter, this location was really ideal, walking distance to the Quarter as well as the museums and galleries. I stay at hotels all around the world and usually I'm pretty generous with ratings. But this hotel was bad, and I'm not sure what people seen in it or experienced that I didn't. Among the issues I experienced: 1) Hairs all around the bathroom and bathtub after checking in. 2) Incredibly noisy air conditioning unit that was louder than I've ever had in a hotel. 3) Very, very slow internet. I didn't feel like the hotel was making an effort to make the stay personal. There really was no one greeting you or saying goodbye. Very different than other 4 star hotels. The Intercontinental is conveniently located to all of the attractions that I had planned on visiting and some others that I hadn't. The pricing was reasonable, the amenities were excellent (gym, pool, restaurants and bars) My only critique is no refrigerator or microwave in my particular room which is rather inconvenient when you're on a top floor. Don't be fooled by the location. While it is away from the French Quarter, you will find a short walk to almost everything. I really can't find anything to complain about; check in, room, housekeeping, Trenasse bar, and even the rate was great (check our Sam's warehouse website if you are a member) well below other comparable and non-comparable hotels.
