Everyone here was extremely friendly and made my week-long stay very comfortable & easy. My flight got in early, so my room wasn't ready when I got to the hotel, so the bellman took my bags and gave me a suggestion for a place nearby to grab lunch. While I was eating, I rec'd a text message telling me that my room was ready, so the check-in process was pretty simple. My room was spacious, quiet, & well appointed. The bathroom was very small, and the sink has very low water pressure, but it w... Read more

Loved this hotel! It was very large and had been accommodating several conferences throughout the week we were staying there but it was never busy feeling. We stayed on the 27th floor in an Executive Suite. We had access to the Regency Club which was a great thing to have for breakfast for my early mornings before my off-site conference at the Convention Center. All staff we encountered were very pleasant and eager to help with any needs. The hotel gym (on the 27th floor) has AMAZING views ... Read more

It is a huge hotel, with the feel of a shopping mall. You get lost ( a lot). However the facilities are great, the restaurants superb, there are shops, cafes, its all going on. There can be several conferences at once and often large groups of varying types. Location is good. Only $10 in a cab to the french quarter but its also walkable. Service is great and rooms very good. Well equipped gym.

I stayed 3 nights at the Hyatt Regency to celebrate a girlfriends birthday. I liked that the rooms were nice and comfortable, the restaurants onsite had good food, the pool was nice with warm water (this was great for my borderline anemic self), the staff were welcoming and friendly, and the trolley to Canal Street is located directly across the street from the hotel. The two ladies I was with upgraded their room to a suite and stayed in room 1806. The room was spacious but that space should ha... Read more

This hotel is similiar to "convention center" hotels. Large in appearance, but not the best in location. This hotel will require you to pay for shuttle service to/from the airport and is not near the French Quarter or other tourist attractions. You will need to frequently take an Uber/Taxi or walk about 10-15min to the nearest street car. There is one really good restaurant, Walk-Ons, that is 5mins walking distance but thats about it. The layout of the hotel is a bit confusing. You will need to... Read more

Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Just a trolley ride from downtown, French Quarter, and river front. Great restaurants. I liked having a safe and refrigerator in the room. Grocery store is two blocks. Lots of great places to eat are close by (Willa Jeans, Cleos, Luke, Walk-on).

We stayed for a work trip in March and found the hotel great for a large conference. The rooms were nice, having amenities, such as an actual refrigerator, that you don't see much anymore. Upon entrance, the smell is pleasing and the people are very welcoming. In the afternoons, there is infused water available. I LOVE that added effort to make a guest feel welcomed. Rooms were reasonably priced for the conference rate, and the size was decent. The bathroom appeared to be recently updated a... Read more

I stayed here while attending a conference. It's a great venue for that type of event, but not for leisure. It's pretty far walk to the French Quarter. Most restaurants are located in the quarter so you'll have to walk or take a cab. One exception is Willa Jean's which is a short walk. I was disappointed in the cleanliness in my room. The bed sheets and walls were stained. The shower curtain was ripped. The air conditioning unit was very loud and would wake me up turning on and off througho... Read more

This is a Wonderful property. It can handle large parties easily. Also, Very Safe!!! This hotel has the security like properties in Las Vegas. The front desk check-in was quick and efficient. Also, the exercise room and Regency Club are on the 32 floor. The Regency Club is worth the splurge. The gumbo was award winning and all the beverages were enjoyed while viewing the Mississippi River Bridge. The Panoramic View is unique in New Orleans. Smiles when you walk by, greetings from random employees, constant asking if you need help, clean, and modern. This is not my normal New Orleans stay as I am usually closer to the Quarter. However, this was a great choice and I am enjoying my stay. My only negative comments was that I felt my room should have been a little cleaner. A couple of missed spots, but overall very clean.

I got the hotel for a "deal/promotional" price, so the price was cut in half. Service was really good, there's staff ready to help and assist along the way, and the hotel lobby/reception areas look really nice. The bedroom isn't very big (standard) but the two queen beds were enough accommodation for 4 adults. The AC was a bit loud but the room was very comfortable overall.

The staff were the friendliest I've ever encountered in New Orleans! The buffet breakfast was amazing, with every conceivable choice of foods available, including bread pudding! The only downside was the size and layout, which made the hotel difficult and tiring to navigate, despite the signs. We had to wait quite some time for the Loyola streetcar, too,... Read more

I stayed at this hotel for 4 weeks throughout April-June. The hotel is bustling and there is always something going on. I went during the Redhat convention and another convention as well but I can't seem to remember what it was. Sometimes I would have to go through the tons of people standing around waiting around when walking from the entrance through the rooms but it was not too bad. The room itself was not very large. I wasn't expecting it to be enormous but it's as small as they get. I am ... Read more

Quick 3 night trip for a conference: The room was comfortable, clean, and convenient to the sporting areas, the city. Didn't love it. And there are many Hyatt's that I adore. First, the good: the gym is fantastic, at the top of the building with a great view. And the rates are very fair. There's a Fed X office on the 2nd floor which is great for business travelers. And a Starbucks, as well as other to-go food options, so you're not forced to eat at the restaurant, which is pricey. For me it's only an "OK" location. Even though it's not far from the Quarter, or a part of town with charm & personality, it feels f... Read more

Outstanding hotel. Nice room design - very good hotel bar with an excellent bar tender. The location is good - just off of the French Quarter, but a bit of a walk from Bourbon St. However, having stayed at hotels closer to the French Quarter - the only one I'd choose over this is the JW Marriott on Canal St - and only for the location. Even on the 24th floor the music was so loud the windows rattled non-stop for 3+ hours. Cleaning staff failed to replenish coffee supplies, bathroom amenities and clean glasses. Mold spots in the shower. No information on the hotel amenities in the room. On the positive side, the Borgne Restaurant was great.

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency for 4 nights in late September, 2016, as my companion was attending a conference at this hotel, and I tagged along to explore NOLA. Staff at front desk was super-friendly. Navigation through the hotel is not straightforward...multiple sets of elevators, and an unusual elevator call system where you have to scan your room key and are assigned an elevator that takes you directly to your floor. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Elevator mechanism fascinating. Food at Borgne very good. The only issue we had was actually finding our way to the hotel, partially due to the construction next door so our path was blocked by one of their trucks at one point. Once in the hotel it was an exceptional experience. The difficulty getting there is the reason that I did not give the overall rating of excellence.

The internet kept kicking me off even when i paid for the upcharge thinking it would help. If you are staying there for business, be mindful of the $15 handling fee for FedEx to sign for a package for you! That key detail was not disclosed when I inquired about it. I stay at the Hyatt New Orleans frequently as an Entergy employee very frequently. In addition to the convenience, the hotel staff is friendly and the service top notch. The food at the restaurants and room service is excellent.
