"
Wow! The St. Pierre is an old historical hotel. It was in an excellent location and easy to walk in the Quarter. A pleasant surprise was being so close to the action but so quiet in the evening at the hotel. It was easy to relax in the gardens and nice to have breakfast right on premise. I would like to visit again!"

"Hotel was charming. It was a little old meaning the carpets needed to be replaced and some paint touched up, but overall it was VERY clean! Everyday they would clean the room, freshen the linens and towels. Unlike previous comments the staff was excellent and accommodating. The free breakfast was basic, but nice to sit and have your coffee in one of the court yards. If you are staying in the rooms across the street from the main house, the wifi signal doesn't work. The location is nice and quiet in the French Quarter in a more residential area. I would stay again."

This is the best hotel stay we've had in 25 years of traveling. Smiles and helpfulness abounded in the staff. Our visit was most pleasurablethe ladies and men on staff in every capacity. The room was clean and comfy. Thanks to all of you!"

"Great location only a couple blocks off from Bourbon. The casino is a bit of walk but it's easily doable. There is a grocery down a block a way to stock up on drinks and snacks if you run out. The hotel is a couple of nice courtyard areas that are great for hanging out if you are in a big group. The rooms themselves are nice and the staff was great."

"I would recommend this hotel ONLY if you request and receive a remodeled room. We had a street-facing room in the old building next to the office. The room was quiet, but needed a complete update. The bathroom was OLD, and while it was clean, it didn't look clean as the fixtures were so old. I saw the updated rooms across the hall and they looked beautiful. Breakfast is so/so. Staff are very helpful and friendly and the location is great! Having parking was a super-plus!"

"A more-than-acceptable place to stay in the French Quarter. Because St. Pierre is really several buildings, each area and room is different. More reasonably priced than some other places closer to the action, and who wants all that noise all night anyway? Plus, you'll be able to walk off all that food and drink on your way back to the hotel. And, really, you're never far from things if you're somewhere in the French Quarter.
Staff was helpful and friendly.
Rooms are small and quirky. Beds were pretty lumpy. But the ambiance is wonderful.

"Charming and nostalgic comes to mind. Went in feb. room was very drafty They provided a heater which warmed the room after a few hours. A bed, a chair and a TV was all we got. Couldv'e used a table. Got hair dryer at front desk. Bed and pillows very comfy. A little overpriced for the lack of amenities. Tried to charge us for parking but one refusal and management abidded by thier contract. Staff was very good and friendly. Good location just far enough from the noise but easy walking distance. Neighborhood was safe."

"If you are looking for a 5 star hotel, this isn't the place. We stayed at the Hotel St. Pierre and found it quite acceptable. The room was cute with an undulating floor of a well used ediface. We found the staff quite helpful. This includes people at the desk, in the breakfast room, the maid and the grounds keepers. Parking is on first come first served basis. I guess that I was one of the lucky few who did not have a problem with finding a parking space in the lot. All in all, we return again."

"I would never stay here again- there wasn't even a clock radio in the room- no hair dryer- even most dives provide this- no room to walk around in the room-there was no upkeep in the rooms- but it was clean- tv didn't work- telephone didn't work- they did resolve the tv issue but the line was dead on the phone and wasn't taken care of. I love N'awlins but i would definitely choose a different place the next time i go."

"We have stayed at many places in New Orleans thru the years. This hotel was old and charming. Parking area was small but once we parked we were happy to take cabs or pedi-cabs or walk around. The coffee, bagels and juice were great to start the day. The staff was very friendly and accomodating, the rooms clean. This is not a place for people who want luxury, but for those who appreciate the history and ambiance of the French Quarter. We would return and recommend."

"This place is a good value. The staff can be a little off-putting with their matter-of-fact personalities. Despite the staff personality issues the room was clean. Don't expect the best but you can't beat the price for the location. The WiFi is a joke, so don't plan on using it while you're there.
Our room was OK but folks traveling with us did not have heat the first night of our stay. All of the rooms in that building did not have heat and the staff said that someone had accidentally turned the AC on before our arrival. We went to dinner and came back several hours later to find the room had actually gotten colder. The following day the heat was repaired.
Even with all of those issues we will probably stay there again."

"The room was so small that we had a hard time even turning around without bumping into each other. The bathroom was so tiny that we had to leave the door open when using it, just to move around. We peeked into some of the other rooms and they were at least twice the size of ours.
The day staff was very rude and not helpful at all. The guy that was supposed to help us get parking saved parking spots for himself and his friends, not guests of the hotel. We stayed for 5 days and had a view of the parking lot from our room, so we saw this happening.
The night staff was very pleasant and helpful, as well as the cleaning staff. However, the continental breakfast was a joke. A variety of donuts were brought in every morning, but the staff would push them aside and guard them for themselves. Other than that, there was cold biscuits, bagels and cold cereal.
I felt for the room and the service, we paid way too much for this room!

"Our family loved this hotel. It is located in the middle of the French Quarter, but a few blocks away from the busy (party) streets. Plan to wear comfortable shoes; you will have to walk every where in the French Quarter. There is limited parking and at a premium. We parked our car in the hotel lot and forgot about it. Keep checking back if it is full when you arrive. The St. Pierre has the friendliest and most accommodating staff I have ever met. Security is out-front to help with check-in, parking, and just makes you feel safe after dark. The front desk staff didn't question my wanting to change rooms from along the road. I have mommy ears and can't sleep through any noise. Like someone else said, just put the DND sign out if you want to sleep in. Take advantage of the free breakfast, meals in the French Quarter are not cheap. The breakfast consisted of coffee, OJ, milk, hot cocoa, cereal, donuts, and bagels. The hotel itself is charming but old, like most buildings in the French Quarter. The St. Pierre does a great job with maintenance. Both of the rooms (and bathrooms) we stayed in had recently been painted. I am kind of a clean freak and nothing bothered me. Don't expect modern conveniences like mini-fridges and safes. I can stay in a new high-rise in any town. The St. Pierre offered a genuine French Quarter experience and made us feel like locals."

"The staff here is very nice and helpful. The location is great for getting away from the crowds and noise. There's a convenience store across the way which was great for getting a bottle of water in the mornings. The rooms were clean, the towels were very nice and the pillows were good too. The bathroom was small and needed some serious updating. The hotel is still being updated, so maybe room was just not completed. The housekeeping staff starts VERY early in the morning, so I recommend putting out your DO NOT DISTURB sign."

"I had to smile a little at a few of the reviews I just read. We were there for five nights, Oct 17th - 22nd. If you don't want true French Quarter funk then stay up on Canal Street. Our room was cleaned every day, and every extra (Extra pillows, etc..)was delivered promptly and courteously. No, you wouldn't want to buy the mattress, but we slept well every night. I couldn't stop taking pictures of the place. Parking is a hassle, but it IS in the Quarter. We had to walk four blocks a couple of times, but that's what you do in the Quarter anyway. They have security 24/7 out front, but I never saw a need for it, except perhaps to keep the guest loading zone clear. BTW, if you rent a car to drive in, DON't let them upgrade you. Get the smallest thing you can fit into. Less is definitely more here.
. Got the rate I wanted, and it worked perfectly. Thank You to the staff at the Hotel St Pierre. We travel a lot and were there on business/pleasure, and it was a perfect fit."

"The hotel is a historic building with lots of charm and a couple of courtyards. Room was a good size, but bathroom was tiny. Bed was very comfy and towels were lovely and fluffy. The room was quiet, with the exception of the housekeeping staff who started work at about 8:00 am and held rambling and loud conversations waking us up each day.
This is New Orleans so don't expect the fancy unless you pay for those prices. For the price it was a good value. Located in a quiet section of the quarter, about 3-4 blocks from Bourbon Street. Lots of walking but that's part of the deal when staying in the quarter.
Of particular note was one of the night personnel. He arranged to change one of our rooms (we traveled with another couple) when they were shown to a room with twin beds, arranged for parking when the lot was full, and gave us great tips on where to go. "

"We went in to this hotel with a very positive attitude but that changed quickly. The site noted that the hotel was undergoing minor renovations, this obviously had not reached our room. The bathroom sink was almost falling off the wall & there were various types of hair on the bathroom floor, the carpet was nasty, the end table fell down when I placed my phone on it & there were dirty underwear & socks under one of the beds. When we went to our room it was 80 degrees. There was no a/c control so we called the front desk & they sent someone to adjust the thermostat located in the hallway; our room never got below 75 degrees. There was a very large window about 12 feet from the floor with just a miniblind so at 6:30 am, we were blinded by the sun & that caused our room to heat back up to 80 degrees. When we checked out, we told the desk clerk, who stated, 'Since you booked through an agency, deal with them.'
The only positive is that our room was quiet & within walking district to our event. This was definately not worth the $100 we paid. Next time, we'll stay further away & spend money on a cab."

"We just stayed at this hotel, and had a very nice experience It's a little boutique hotel a couple blocks from the fun portion of Bourbon street. The staff there was very friendly and helpful. While the small parking lot was full when we arrived, they went out of their way to find us a spot for our little car. The room was clean and bright. With window air conditioner units, the room was very comfortable (not something you can always count on July in New Orleans).
This was a nice quiet hotel, with a friendly staff, plus continental breakfast (bagels and cereal). The price and location was just right for a few nights in NOLA.
We would stay here again.

"Loved it? I travel alot and stay in many different motels and hotels. This place was 2 blocks from Bourbon st, and the free parking was perfect. My wife and I came to the French Quarters to Party, and be close to everything and it was. The pool was super nice, and the room we had was on the ground floor with a brick patio. We didnt have the most expensive room but it was perfect. Yes the TV was kinda small, no coffee pot in room but i wasnt there to watch tv, play on the internet. Awesome. ask for room 209 or 208 for the best rooms at hotel."

"I guess the best thing about this hotel is it's location. It was only 3 short blocks to Bourbon Street and was quite quiet considering it's proximity. The pool, although very small was very refreshing and felt great to sit around the courtyard after a quick dip.
The only downside to my stay would have to be the staff. The check in clerk and housekeeper who cleaned the room were quite friendly but the ladies that handle the continental breakfast were very rude. They completely ignored the other patrons and when their conversations had to be interrupted to ask for more coffee to be made, the attitude came-a-flyin!! Another employee offered to make more coffee for the patron but she went off on her too. Once she settled down, she went on with her conversation with employee B about how she was about to give her resignation and that she was not appreciated around there. VERY unprofessional.
One of the evenings that we were there, the internet was having issues. I called the front desk and asked that they reset the router (since my laptop said that was the problem). He said that he would and 15 minutes later, no internet. I called down again and he said he would call the manager and have someone look at it the following day. I said that I had some work that needed to be done and he was very unapologetic about the whole matter.
I am glad that I got a special rate for this place because if I had paid full price, this review wouldn't be as positive as it is currently.
I travel to New Orleans quite often and had never stayed in this establishment. I would consider staying here again if the rate was right ONLY because of it's location and quiet courtyard."

"The St. Pierre was exactly what we wanted it to be. This trip was eight girls wanting to have fun and explore a new city. With that in mind, the St. Pierre had a great locale. We were close enough to walk to both Bourbon and the Frenchman areas. Also, the staff gave some great information about places to eat and where to go. But, most of all, the staff was very accomodating. Staff was fun, easy to talk to and extremely polite, even on those late nights when a few of us overindulged and were likely a little obnoxious:) The hotel was safe, continental breakfast was just enough to get us through the mornings and the pool, though mostly rainy when we were there, was nice. The rooms may have been a tad small, but had the same in other towns such as San Franciso, and for the price, nothing to complain about. The only complaint we had was that early morning, our rooms were by a cleaning closet and windows faced a street, so often woken up early. But, other than this, loved the location and would definitely go back."

"The location was great for this hotel as it was only about 3 blocks away from Bourbon St. The hotel is also right across the street from a grocery which is nice to get a few drinks or snacks. When we arrived everyone was nice. The room was aged and there was some things that should have been repaired like the rust around the shower where water damage occurred. We enjoyed the pool eventhough both of them were small. We even had a furry friend that visited us around the pool (RAT). Ok after that we didn't visit the pool again. The staff acted like it was no big deal and that they were everywhere. YUK! Thank god we didn't see another one of those. The breakfast includes cereal, milk, doughnuts, oatmeal mix, juice, and coffee. Overall you get what you pay for and other than our nice visit from a furry friend I didn't see anything like that again."

"Every staff member was friendly & helpful - from the cleaners, to the front desk, to the security - they were more than willing to direct us to where we needed to go and great places to dine.
Loved the pool access (especially with the 96 degree weather) and LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. It was a perfect spot - far enough away from Burbon Street to not feel like we were on display to the night walkers, but close enough to have access to any and all downtown activities without needing to hop on public transit.
The only downside was that the hotel felt dirty. The shower curtain had all sorts of stains and I never really felt clean after taking a shower.
Fortunately my normal vacation accommodations are at a camp site, so it didn't bother me too much. However, some of my travel buddies wanted to change hotels.I refused because it is a PRIME location and totally worth the price. Just don't book it thinking you'll be living in luxury. I'd probably stay there again."

"I lived in New Orleans before Katrina so was somewhat savvey to the city but had limited experience using the hotel system. With Hotel St. Pierre, absolutely no surprises - the room was as described and comfortable - the hotel did not scrimp on the AC (thank goodness! - it IS summer there!). Pool, albeit small, provided a nice way to cool off after tromping around the Quarter all day.
The staff were very accomodating in giving direction, feedback, etc. Breakfast was simple but the coffee was hot and strong and the biscuits were good. Great location - easy walking distance to heart of the French Quarter...without the noise of Bourbon street...,to the street cars, Canal Street, Armstrong Park and the newest 'hot spot' - Treme district. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel."

"We had a fabulous experience at Hotel St. Pierre. The staff was immensely friendly and helpful. Not sure why I have seen unfavorable reports about staff. They made us feel just like at home. They had a wealth of knowledge about the history of the hotel and shared it with us. The only concern I had was walking back to the hotel at night. I was with 2 other ladies and we did feel a little anxious getting from the very active Bourbon - Royal Street area to our hotel. Nothing happened, just a bit apprehensive. We had a very large room with 2 double beds and several chairs for sitting and relaxing. The bathroom was lovely. I think probably rebuilt after floods. It was very modern and roomy. While there is no control for AC in the room, the temperature was perfect and we do like it cold at night!!! The location and value are hard to beat."

"We found this to be a delightfully quaint New Orleans hotel. The rooms are small, but they were clean and the beds were very comfortable. For the time we spent there, they were fine. The hotel staff was very pleasant and accommodating, making good restaurant recommendations and arranging for transportation. The location is perfect - in the French Quarter but outside of the hustle & bustle. The continental breakfast is basic, but the food was fresh and enough to get our day started. The Quarter Convenient store across the street carries everything you need, including liquor, toothbrushes and a good deli. Don't expect to swim in the pool - it's very small - but, for a refreshing dip after a long hot day of walking, it was perfect. We met nice people and would stay here again. We had an amazing first Jazz Fest experience!"

"Delayed at front desk upon arrival....once registered we carried our luggage to the assigned room. It was not ready and had to carry the luggage back to the lobby. I advised the cleaning staff that it would be ok to clean the room and make up the beds without changing the linen. The bed covers were pulled up over an unmade bed. Initial front office staff was disorganized but apologetic. The remaining front desk staff and other personnel were very good. "

"Staff was so nice and helpful. Construction underway but we never heard any of it. Our window looked out over the street instead of the courtyard. Plenty of room for 3 of us. Small bathroom but laid out fine so it was very usable. Pool and pool area looked nice and clean but we didn't get to use it because it was raining during our stay. A little inconvenient to have to go outside in the rain to get from lobby to room in another building but we expected it. The hotel is a series of older buildings so keep that in mind. Very quaint and just what we were looking for to get a taste of the French Quarter during our trip.Only stayed one night but it would have been OK for more. Breakfast was a little sparse but we hadnt even realized they had a continental breakast when we booked so it was a bonus. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. No airconditioning, so we were glad it was cooler the night we stayed. /when the ceiling fan wasn't working when we checked in they fixed it right away. they let us check in early which was great! Front desk manager had good recommendations. Close enough to walk anywhere in the French Quarter but we didn't walk back after dark. Close to a large park."

"Me and my wife stayed, for 3 nites the rooms we're nothing like the pictures. We stayed n a double room. Our room was small as a 10x10 dog kennel. worst hotel we ever stayed in. the staff was friendly. that was the only high note during my stay. no control of ac/heat they controlled the heat from the lobby. No sleeping in they were doing construction 7:30 people was on the room hammering. Motel 6 would have been paradise compared to our stay. If we go back next year we wont be staying at this hotel"

"The staff was friendly...and that's about it. VERY small room, No on site parking, No refrigerator, no microwave, no hair dryer, broken down chest of drawers, toilet paper dispenser was torn off the wall, scratched screen on the tv, the continental breakfast was just bagels, cereal, and doughnuts AND the thermostat in our room controlled 3 rooms (how messed up is that?!) We were asked to turn the thermostat to a more comfortable setting...it was 80 degrees outside and I had it set on 75 (and didn't change it.) We had to work around contruction workers as we left and entered the hotel...they were friendly enough, but still an inconvenience. I don't know why the New York Times rated this as the best place to stay in the French Quarter....I'll not stay there again. I thought I researched the area pretty well...apparently not! Do yourself a favor, spend a few more bucks and stay somewhere on the outskirts of the French Quarter that has amentities suitable for a couple or family."

We were able to leave aour car there after check out for several hours without any problem. Not all rooms are created equal so you never know what to expect. "Th check in staff was very friendly. No iron or hair dryer, had to go ask. No closet, just a rack against the wall. Really bad, cheap particleboard veneered furniture with missing handles, etc. Windows looked directly onto a wall less than a foot away. Tiny bathroom with the commode jammed in a corner so you had to be a contortionist to sit. The good news it that it was pretty clean, the housekeeping staff was nice, coffee was hot, and it was inexpensive. Free wifi. It is a very old space, so bear that in mind. The courtyards and pools looked fine, didn't partake."

Ok breakfast but could certainly use some fresh fruit. Overall place was nice, but certainly needs updated, even the curtains in the room did not match and walls had spackle on walls and had not even been painted."

"I Live next to the St. Pierre Hotel in the French Quarter. I put my mother in there for the 'Krewe of Barkus' parade on a Sat. Morning. She loved it... She got her parking spot across the street in the Hotel parking lot..A man helped her with her bag to a really cute room that overlooked the pool. She felt safe and very well taken care of..She loved the staff and everyone at the front desk was so sweet and helpful..
Perfect place for her to stay when visiting the Quarter.."

"My boyfriend and I went to New Orleans for a wedding and stayed here, at the Hotel St. Pierre. Upon arrival the staff was very friendly and accommodating and the hotel was clean and very representative of New Orleans. If you are looking for a typical hotel like the Sheridan or Hilton then this Hotel is not for you. The rooms were small but quaint and the decor was french inspired country living, I really like it. The staff are what really made our experience their awesome, the front desk guys helped my boyfriend tie his tie and were always available to help us out. The didn't charge us for a late check out even though we were late by a few hours. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to experience New Orleans hospitality and style."

"Price high for the accommodation, but expected because of Jazz Fest. Got in @ midnight & room freezing. Called desk & found out 4 rooms controlled by 1 thermostat, and not in our room. They called the room & had air adjusted. Ok until next afternoon when same thing happened. Contacted other room & had adjusted again.. Dresser had 3 drawers, top one small, middle fell out when opening, bottom the front pulled off when opening. Missed cleaning room one day even though they had marked it as cleaned. Some of desk clerks not too informative about the city. A lot of steps, twisting & turning if not on 1st floor. Have 74 rooms, so probably many are much nicer than others."

"My trip to New Orleans was FABULOUS! ASIDE from staying at Hotel St. Pierre. The 'cottage ' we were put up in was the dirtiest, ickyest place I have ever stayed in in my life. the bathroom was indeed the worst. there was paint chipping off the walls, mold on the ceiling, and ONE towel upon out arrival with 4 people. Numerous stains FILLED the rug, and a screw that were sticking out of the couch that cut one of us by leaning up against it. Every morning the first person MAYBE got a hot shower, but the next three had to suffer with cold. THAT really sucks, considering new orleans is, though wonderful, a very dirty city. Now I know some of these place are old... but we had no hair dryer, one soap and one shampoo. I dont know... I guess all my previous hotel experiences have been awesome. None of the employees were at all interested in helping us ... with anything. so now, IF I use Bookit again, I HOPE they can deliver like they did the times before.
sorry...

"Me and my 10 year old grandson stayed at the St Pierre in NOLA. It was wonderful, the staff was so friendly and and happy to give directions and great suggestions on where the locals eat. The room itself was clean and comfy. I felt as thou I was sent back in time, My room had a view from the balcony of old slate rooftops hundreds of years old. The courtyards were beautiful and peacefull after the long walks of exploring the city. It was only a few blocks away from all the interesting things that only New orleans can offer. Thank you for the warm welcome for me and my grandson, I cant wait to come back next spring."
