Privately owned hotel in the French Quarter. Pros: The staff is on point for greeting and making guests feel welcomed. Location. The restaurant in the hotel is 5 stars! The bar was booming all weekend! The "bar" is a spinning carousel and they have a great live band. The pool on the roof is a nice get away spot. Beds are super comfortable. Water is hot and powerful when you want it. Room is on the small side but I wasn't in a suite and I wasn't there to stay in the room that much. Great gym ava... Read more

This oldy is my NEW FAVE in New Orleans. Have stayed in a variety of great places in Nola but the Monteleone is DA BOMB!! Such a beautiful and charming hotel. Feel's just right. The hotel's own website offered a good price for a room and they honored my request for a nice one as I was bringing my daughter to New Orleans for the first time, 10th floor room with river view was smallish but perfect, cozy and plush. Excellent hotel. Out of a scale of 10-a 9.5 rating. I would highly recommend the Monteleone Hotel to friends, business associates, and family. This was a trip to visit family and conduct business for arrangements for a burial. A great location. Loved the shopping, eating in various restaurants and bars. The antique stores inter mixed with the souvenir shops, the people on the streets and the general ambience of New Orleans was great to experience again.

We enjoyed the stay. The hotel is a very nice place just a block from Bourbon Street. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. The check-in is quick and the valet parking is quick too. Give it a try.

This was a gorgeous, well appointed hotel! I loved the pool and the luxurious interiors. Plus, the bed and linens were heavenly. Some rooms have no views and they might cover over the window. I asked for a window with light and got a slightly smaller room, with light, that was much better for me. They were wonderful to move me!

Loved this hotel! The rooms are nicely decorated. It goes with the whole nostalgic theme you see throughout the hotel. Couldn't ask for a better location. You're close enough to everything the French Quarter has to offer, yet just far enough from the seediness of Bourbon Street. I really liked the display windows in the lobby, which showcase items available at the local shops. Why not an "excellent," you may ask. Because of the only negative thing about this place... Small bathrooms! Not... Read more

One only need to view a photo of the front of this hotel to fall in love with it! It's stately; it's vintage; frankly, it's just beautiful. And the favorable impressions don't end there. I was concerned about staying at this hotel, owing to my disappointing experiences with older hotels that never seem to update the property sufficiently. I was not disappointed by the Hotel Monteleone. I just can't say enough good things about it. The lobby is beautiful. The rooms are updated and beautiful... Read more

Arrival at this hotel is a treat! The doorman, bellman and valet we're all charming, and wonderfully welcoming. The front desk attendant is what makes this review "almost perfect". The gentleman at the front desk was snobby and appeared to be put off by having to assist me. I had made reservations for a week, for a room that allowed dogs. He indicated he did not believe that I had told the reservation clerk that I was traveling with a dog. I hope somebody at this hotel will review the tape to ... Read more

Loved everything about this hotel. From the gentleman that greeted us at the front door, to the check-in area, to the valet service. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Room was beautiful and so clean. The beds are just doubles so for more than one adult in a bed it can be challenging. Wifi is not free, at least what I read. You could only use a little and then it charged. Maybe I read it wrong but we didn't chance it. Wifi should be free these days, IMO. When I go back I will stay here... Read more

We chose this hotel because of popular reviews, We enjoyed the liveliness and ambiance of this hotel. Starting in the afternoon, the lobby became a hopping place due to the Carousel Lounge. We never went in but it seems as though everyone else in New Orleans did. We stayed on a higher floor and had a view of the city and Mississippi. We heard no sounds from anywhere. I traveled to New Orleans with my children, and I was a bit concerned about proximity to Bourbon Street. I felt very safe in the Hotel and on Royal St with my kids. The staff was exceptional and are a testament to the Hotel and New Orleans. Dawson (check-in), Nolan (bell service), Stephen (valet), and Que (waitress) were great.

You can feel the history of the building as you walk into the Hotel Monteleone. We had a good check in experience and were given a quiet room which we requested, rooms at the front of the hotel can be noisy. Our room was very comfortable, beds great, and so quiet. Bathroom was small but sufficient. The Carousel Bar is worth a visit just to have been there but the drinks were expensive and average. Staying in the City of New Orleans is the most enjoyable experience we've had. The culture, hotels, food, history and of course the food. The citizens of New Orleans are by far the most friendly and accommodating people you'll ever meet. Hope to be back in a couple of years for it's 300 year old birthday. This place has the most comfortable beds. It is very quiet. The staff is wonderful. The hotel is very conveniently located in the french quarter. We found ourselves stopping by for a rest in the air conditioned lobby a few times when we were just passing by and wanted to rest somewhere that we knew we would be welcome. There is so much to see and do near the hotel we never took our car out until we departed.

I've stayed at numerous hotels in NOLA. This has to be one of the finest I've stayed at. The Carousel Bar is something to see, but not worth the wait to get on, sit in one of the surrounding tables, you'll get the same enjoyment. From the time we arrived till the time we left we were treated like a King and Queen. Our Kudo's go out to Jennifer in housekeeping, she kept the room in perfect shape. We stayed 3 night over the 4th of July weekend. When we return, this is our hotel of choice.

Stayed at Monteleone for two nights, two adults, two kids and one infant. We fitted easily in a double queen plus baby crib. Staff friendly, nice pool at the hotel roof, gym ok (but some weights could be added). The only complaint is that we had to wait almost 1h in order to get our car from the valet parking. This was apparently due to the front desk giving the wrong no to the valet parking. At first, everyone blamed someone else - which is annoying since we only wanted someone to fetch our car...
