Hotel was clean, staff is friendly. Price is a little high. Restaurant is so-so. Food wasn't great and there's no ambiance. Also if you want high speed internet, you have to pay for it, which really sucks in 2016.

We visited this hotel, only for 1 day, for a family wedding. The whole wedding party and any out of towners stayed here for the room block. Early check in was allowed via phone while we were driving in, so that was very nice. Also, anytime we requested something, like a pack n play, extra towels, etc., I was pleasantly surprised that we received them all so quickly, especially considering how busy the hotel was this particular weekend. My only complaint, which should be taken with a grain of sal... Read more

Stayed for 5 nights for a convention. Booked the hotel for its location to the convention center. It was still a fairly long walk to the convention center. I think other hotels are just as conveniently located. The hotel was nothing special. Room service was good but very pricey. Executive level was nice but not worth the extra money. I would most likely would not stay here again unless the price was discounted. At check-in, the woman at the front desk told me that she hated New Orleans.

Suited for conventions, decent location, but overpriced. Unless you're a special Hilton Honors member you have to pay extra for internet and fitness facilities, which is unbelievable. This is the first time I've come across that with a Hilton location.

Im Ebony and I was just at the Hilton Riverside in New Orleans for a 1 week AFTE conference from the 28th of May to 3rd June 2016. My room was number 747 and it was great. I left at 3 a.m. on 4th June and upon reaching the airport i realized I had accidentally left my passport in the room safe. I called the hotel and explained my situation and not only the young lady (sadly I can't remember her name) send someone to find it but also had her manager drive over to the airport and bring it to me. ... Hotel is consistently good. Unlike some other properties, they don't tend to upgrade me until I ask for it. The Executive Lounge provides one of the best views in all of New Orleans. Rooms are consistently clean and it's in close walking distance to all of the major attractions in the French Quarter. There is also a trolley stop right outside the door.

I stayed here to attend a conference and received a conference rate. They wouldn't extend the rate two additional nights (though they did for other attendees) so I had to split my stay in New Orleans over two hotels. I'm glad I did because I felt the conference rate was high - let alone the additional $100 it would have cost per night without it. The staff is very friendly and will greet you in passing - say good morning, etc. They are also very helpful when you need assistance. The common are... Read more

Summary: We've stayed at this location a number of times. Types of stays have been a mix of business and pleasure. We've also stayed here during the peak of Mardi Gras. This hotel is very much convention/business oriented and is usually quite busy with various large groups booked through out the year. On site dining is available and other dining options are within a few minute walk. The French Quarter is also just a few blocks away. Arrival/Check-in (7/22/2016): Parking is self or valet... Stayed at this hotel for an event that was being held at the conference center next-door. A mall connects, virtually, the conference center with the hotel. If you walk from the Hilton to the conference center, thru the mall, it is about a 25-30 min walk esp if mall is crowded. If you walk outside hotel and walk the sidewalk to the doors of conference center, about 7 min walk. Extremely convenient having food court on end of mall closest to conference center. The overall scenery of the hotel looks grand and modern. However, the rooms are quite dated. The furniture and lighting looks old. The pool area was below average. There is all this space but there is nothing there but this little kiddie looking pool and lounge chairs. This is area should have some sort of scenery and decor that invites guests to come outside. First off let me just say I'm not a fan of Bourbon Street but I like the French Quarter in general. I've stayed in New Orleans numerous times for work and this was my favorite location. It's close to the conference center, where I had to be. It was also right next to the casino and a short walk from the French Quarter. Cool views of the river, I thought from my hotel room. Hilton is like the enriched white bread hotel of all the middle-of-the-road hotels. It's what you'd expect from a Hilton. This is not a luxury property. This is just an (extremely large) old-school Hilton and it's solid but average, and that's basically what you pay for here. We upgraded at check in to a city view on a higher floor which was nice. Even if this hotel is well located and the rooms are good, be aware that there is a noisy train running all over the night and blasting horns all the way, on the average every 2 hours. To minimize this, the solution is to book as high as possible (ex floor 22 or higher) and with the city view. You still will hear the train but at least you will not be awake. Be also aware that for getting an acceptable room from the noise point of view you will have to pay for the upgrade!
