"Under new ownership. Working to update the entire facility which it seems to have needed. Our stay was in a remodeled / updated room. Very nicely furnished / decorated, nice bath, great towels / toiletries. Small room but common with the time it was built. Great Location! Went to the Saints game via the Bicycle Taxi. ( Not hindered by traffic ) Parked across the street for faster access, etc. Bellhop helped get our luggage to the room from the parking lot! Would visit again!"

"The only thing this hotel has going for it is that it is in the French Quarter District. Other than that, I would not recommend it to anyone. The place is under renovation(which we didn't know about). The bathroom didn't have a shower curtain so everytime you took a shower, the bathroom got all wet. The carpet and drapes are from the George Washington era. You have to walk outside to get to some of the rooms. No inter service except in the room they call the lobby which only has 1 chair in it."

"Although the room was neat and the beds made, the carpet and walls (paint) definitely needed upgrading. We had to change rooms the second night there as we had no electricity, although we were upgraded to a better room. The staff was courteous and nice. Overall, I would rate it about a 7."

a quaint brick laden courtyard. Renouvations going on during the day. Great centralized location near most of the exciting sites and restaurants in the French Quarter."

"Quaint hotel. Some rooms smaller than others. We were there with two other couples and a single. We all had different rooms. Let's face it...its New Orleans! Don't expect to knot have some kind of loss of sleep due to loud neighbors! We were on the fourth floor on the side street and had little street noise. Excellent location to walk to everything. Friendly staff. Coffee shop attached was a welcome addition."

"Although I haven't been to New Orleans for several years I was really disappointed with the accommodations at the French Market Inn. Since it is a sister hotel to Place de'Armes (where I have stayed many times in the past) I was expecting a lot more for the amount we paid to stay on our recent trip. The staff was more than friendly and very helpful considering the surroundings they are dealing with. Our room smelled like a old damp basement, there was a mouse sighting in our room running out under our hallway door and I did not leave the bed without having flipflops on. The bathroom was the only saving grace although the vent/fan was completely covered in dust and did not work. The court yard was cute but there were windows missing from exterior doors, the trim everywhere needs painted and reinforced, just an overall update on the entire place is suggested. Luckily, I have an undying love for New Orleans, took it all in stride and still had a great time but I would have liked to have been better prepared for what to expect from our hotel. Maybe my expectations were too high but thought I'd add my two cents."

"Stayed at the French Market Inn last weekend for our first trip to NOLA. The location was superb - just a few blocks from everything, easily within walking distance.

I found it to be a little pricey, but that's probably due to the location. The staff was fantastic. If you're expecting a luxury hotel with lots of amenities, this isn't your spot.

But if you're looking for a place to lay your head after walking home from Bourbon Street, this place fits the bill.

"My stay at the French Market Inn was great. The staff was very friendly, it was in a great location. I did not have a car so I did not need to worry about parking. I love the old feel to the hotel. We had a great view of the Mississippi river from our room. I would defenitaly stay here again."

"Wonderful hotel for the rate. Very helpful friendly staff. Room was clean, roomy and even had a nice size bathroom (for an older building). No window provided quiet sleeping! Really great location, close enough to everything without miles to walk - parking across the street is priced reasonably for New Orleans ($25/day by hour). Lovely courtyard. Definitely would stay again. "

" We booked this as a last minute thing, literally on our way to New Orleans. it was a great place to stay. located in a great location. the staff was wonderfull,the lady from brazil was the sweetest thing.... we will surely stay there again....oh and the courtyard is beautiful. thanks devin from bookit. oh yeah... the downfall??? no parking on premisis. the public lot across the street costs 25.00 a night to park......"

"Great place for a weekend stay. Close to everything from Bourbon to French Market. Room was clean and front desk was extremely friendly and helpfull. We've stayed here a few times and will definitely stay again."
