We stayed in an interior room. I was a little afraid it would seem claustrophobic without a window, but it wasn't. The ceilings are appx 15 feet high and painted a light color, so all was well. Room was clean, staff was great. We could have parked our car across the street, but as we planned on staying in the French Quarter all the time and walking everywhere, we used the valet service ($40/night). It was well worth the price for the peace of mind of not having to drive! Room prices get pricey c... Read more

The hotel is everything you see in the pictures and more. Exposed brick, beautiful courtyard, comfy beds and insane water pressure!! The loss of one star comes from only minor things. No fridges, no microwaves which means no leftovers from all the great NOLA food and no breakfast of any sorts. Stayed in a king deluxe which had more character than most places I've stayed in. Room 200 which had windows facing the street and steamboat docks, gave us a nice view in the mornings. Great rates comparat... Read more

Hotel is in a great location. You can easily walk to anything in the French Quarter. Hotel staff was great at giving directions or recommending places to eat. Everyone at the desk/valet was so friendly and personable. The courtyard is adorable and very charming. I loved sitting outside at night to wind down after a long day. Small pool... Three of us celebrated in New Orleans and ecstatic that we found this hotel. Everything we wanted, beauty, charm, location and best of all wonderful people that helped us with every need we had. Already planning another visit to NOLA and hands down no question will be staying here again. I booked early and requested room with balcony(shared) and street view. I really liked this hotel a lot for our stay from May 27th to May 31st. Stayed in Room 134 in a king size bed and brick wall. The location is excellent and is right around the corner from Johnny's and Napolean House two of my favorite places to go in the Quarter.

This was a last minute trip and I found a great room at a reasonable rate. The valet service for the car is expensive and slow, so unless you need your car to get here, I recommend not having one. parking is annoying. This inn is located near everything. Ask for a room with windows. The courtyard is pleasant and there is a small pool for wading, not necessarily laps.

We stayed at the French Market Inn over the 2016 Memorial Day weekend. Couldn't have picked a better hotel! We arrived in NOLA at 9am. Although check-in isn't until mid-afternoon, the bellhop graciously stored our luggage in a safe room while we walked Decatur and grabbed breakfast. Around noon we received a call from the Front Desk, saying that we could check into our room at any time. Our room was street-side and had 2 queen beds. REALLY spacious! Good sized bathroom. This hotel is ideally situated in the French Quarter â?? not so far in it's hard to access, but not so far away that you have to walk forever to get places. It's quite close to Jackson Square and CafĂ© du Monde. Although the rooms are kind of small, it's clean and comfortable â?? and really, how much time are you *really* going to stay in your hotel room anyway? The staff is friendly and helpful. You can hear noise from the street and other guests in the hall. The wi-fi is free and reliable.

This is a nice, comfortable old hotel in a great location. The rooms and bathroom are large, the courtyard area is lovely, and staff were all friendly. We stayed 4 nights. I'm sad to say the cat, Patrick, no longer lives at the hotel. As a huge cat lover this was one of the main reasons I booked French Market Inn over other hotels, so I was very disappointed. Be aware that this area of the Quarter can still be a little sketchy even though it's not right on Bourbon st.

French Market Inn earned every one of its three stars, and every one of its excellent reviews! With the location, price, and cleanliness of the hotel, it's easily one of the best values I've found while traveling. When we choose three-star hotels, the two factors that define such hotels are the bathrooms and service. French Market Inn exceeded expectations on both fronts. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but if you're doing New Orleans right, you don't need a big hotel room. This hotel taught me something very important. Always make sure the hotel room you are getting, has a window. Lugging your luggage all around through the stairs on the multiple floors ensures this is NOT a good hotel for those who need accommodation. It's right in the middle of things, but again--no window. The only thing that I missed was Patrick, the cat, who is now semi-retired and stays, I think, at the manager's home. Lovely place to be at the it is in a great location. Special thanks to Jenna and the rest of the desk staff for all they did for me!!!!!

I'm not one for reviews - I think I've done 2 in total - but this place was great! Such a nice hotel. Big shout out to Nancy on reception and Liney the porter - both very helpful and friendly :) Our room was lovely - the place has a small pool in a secluded area which is nice to get some respite from the French Quarter. Location is great - right by the river and French Quarter.

We were so tickled to find the French Market Inn, near the river:) It's a very unassuming place...we wouldn't have known it was there if our transport hadn't let us off right in front. We had two rooms, one on the 3rd floor with a window facing the river and one on the 2nd floor with a window facing the courtyard. We definitely requested rooms with windows as we read there are rooms without. Note: it is an older style of building and many rooms are accessible only by stairs, some by elevator. ... Read more

Not only did we have an amazingly cool brick walled room 252 with the only balcony on Decatur Street, with comfortable beds, and nice and large with high ceilings for our family of four, but this hotel room bathroom is a Top Five shower in all of my years of travel. Room 252! You can see the Mississippi River from the balcony. Amazing shower. Amazing view. Fantastic Hotel. In the French quarter, but away from the mayhem. Great staff, pleasant service. This was our 2nd go around with Vaca in New Orleans. And I have to say both hotels we stayed at were pretty awesome. The French Quarter Inn is everything you would think a New Orleans hotel should look like. The interior and exterior is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for us. We didn't use the pool but it was rather small. The location was perfect. I would recommend this hotel.

Me & my mum stayed in a deluxe 2 double bed room with courtyard/city view for 3 nights & thought it was excellent! The location is perfect for the French quarter; it feels like everything is on your doorstep as it is all walkable. The hotel itself is very nice, check in felt slightly drawn out compared to other hotels but no big deal. All the staff were very friendly & helpful. Garden district is a quick streetcar ride away! We enjoyed our stay at the Inn. The building is old and historic as we expected. Next time we will ask for a different room location as we were stuck next to an elevator and stairway door which meant a lot of extra noise. Our room was also cave-like with one small window--other rooms looked like they would have been just fine. Staff were great, friendly and definitely make this a good place to stay. The room (252) had old world charm, it was huge, and had an enormous balcony overlooking Decatur st. In the picture it is the balciny in the center with the 3 tall skinny doors. We found this great hotel on Hotels.com and were so glad we did! It is a very quaint, clean, and elegant place to stay very close to many of the favorite attractions in New Orleans. We requested a city view room. We called the morning of our arrival to verify if that request would be able to be met and at first were told that it would not be possible. But to our great surprise when we arrived they had made it happen for us! We had a top floor corner room with great views of the Natchez on the... Read more

Great location on Decatur close to shops, restaurants and the French Market. Staff were very friendly. Valet parking available until noon day of check-out. Room was clean and AC worked great. No issues with noise.

The French Market Inn is located conveniently on Decatur - close to the bussle and noise of the French Quarter, but far enough away that it is reatively quiet. Be careful when telling a cab driver where to take you, since they often assume you mean the "French Market" which is further down Decatur. The staff are very friendly and approachable, especially the bell hop/concierge staff. Our room was on the third floor and elevator only went to the second - so our luggage had to be carried up a ser... Read more

Amazing hotel. Great staff. Great location. Room was very good. would give it more than 5 stars if possible. Rates were very reasonable. Close to Bourbon street but far away from the madness. New Orleans could do itself a favor and try an clean up the streets of the begging that goes on. my heart goes out to them but its too much.

Me and my friend stayed at French Market Inn for our Halloween vacation this year. We were treated very well by the stay (e.g. received good recommendations). From the hotel we could walk everywhere, never had to take a cab anywhere. If I ever travel to NOLA again I'll come back! P.S. Thank you Nancy // Swedish Scooby Doo :)

Visiting from Australia without a car, the location was great. Convenient to waterfront, French Quarter, and city tours. Very clean and rather quaint. Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Denise and Nancy. If anything, we did have to ask for room items, like cups and coffee, which were not replaced consistently. These were then given immediately, without hesitation. Will recommend to family and friends.

Kudos to jlr51, who helped me so much. Her advice was outstanding. A find. Ideally located to explore the French Quarter by foot. We were in room 227 with a balcony facing the courtyard. A gorgeous, spacious room. Bathroom decently sized. Very clean. We liked the room design with exposed bricks and comfy chairs. The hotel consists of several renovated buildings. I would definitely stay there again. Our special thanks go to Minnie (front desk manager), she did an excellent job. We were welcome l... Read more

We loved the atmosphere of the old buildings. Room was very clean and comfortable. Courtyard with fountains was quiet and a nice change from the pace of the Quarter. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend parking across the street at the public lot even though it costs a little more, because the valet parking was a little slow. Location is very convenient. Will stay here again.

First impressions of the French Market Inn was impressive, with period style decor, a door man and a bell man at your service. We stayed six nights and had a double bed room, second floor over looking the pool and courtyard. This room was small and only a chair at the desk to sit on. It was dark as the only light was from the front entry doors. These rooms are not for lounging. The air conditioners are set and you can not control them. For us it was hot. I think all the rooms are different and ... Read more

The French Quarter Inn is a beautiful, impressive and charming place to rest and relax right in the heart of the French Quarter. The staff are all so very friendly and helpful... I would like to say a special thanks to Nancy, at the front desk, and Terrance who both were so welcoming! The Inn is very clean and has a New Orleans decor with a beautiful courtyard. The prices are incredibly reasonable. A wonderful experience for sure, as this was my first time in New Orleans!

when in New Orleans I like to stay in the older quaint hotels of yesteryear. This was a great pick. Short walk to the Mississippi River, Cafe Du Monde, Jackson Sq, Central Grocery etc.... Quiet rooms. A/C worked well. No problems at all in our room. Check-in was great w/ friendly front desk help and the baggage assistance was awesome too. Highly recommend this place.

Perfectly located hotel in the French Quarter. Close to most things but far away from the party on Bourbon St. I had an interior room which was bigger than expected. The staff was excellent and always ready to give suggestions or answer our questions. The only minor issue was that the Wifi connection was not that great especially in the evenings, otherwise I would definitely recommend this hotel.
