The best part of this hotel is the location and warm cookie. The hotel is conveniently located next to Harrahs. I was in New Orleans for a conference, the hotel was only a few blocks to the convention center. It was also close to the water. The hotel is not very sound proof. You can hear people talking in the hallway as though there is no wall separating you. Every time the people in the room next to us opened the door, we thought they were breaking into our room. If you are a light sleeper, you... Read more

This wasn't our first trip to NOLA, by far. However, it was our first--and last--stay at this hotel. I totally get the fact that they were renovating some of the floors at this location. But the hours that the noise seemed unbearable was during the time of morning and evening that most guests would be in their room. I was more upset about the parking situation. I still can't believe I paid $45 per night, for valet service, for my car to sit in a tiny lot 500 feet away from the front door. I mean... Read more

Stayed before a cruise and found it was in a wonderful location. One block walk to trolleys, that take you everywhere. The hotel is older and shows signs of age but they are in the process of updating.

Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. My only disappointment was the cost of parking. However the location to city attractions was great. Just a short walk to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street.

Good location, smaller room, clean but noisy. No matter where your room is, you will hear elevator going up and down. Smaller Windows and view, nice swimming pool. Lousy restaurant on site with hiding staff.

I was shocked at the condition of this hotel. I visit New Orleans often but had never stayed at the Doubletree. Yes, it is in a great location, but so are many other hotels, and I would recommend that you do not stay here. I was assigned to a room on the 9th floor and had to move because of the heavy smoke smell. The 10th floor room was a little better but you could almost smell the smoke in the air conditioning system. From what I understand the rooms up to the 8th floor have been remodele... Read more

The incredible staff and great location coupled with a very clean room made the visit good, but the "kinks" kept it from being excellent. When we arrived we reminded the staff I was allergic to feather pillows and needed an alternative. They assured me it was on the reservation and would be done. We placed the luggage in storage (as we were early) . 11:30 in the evening I realized the pillows were feather...The next morning we took tepid showers, and the promised river or street view was not... I feel for the price that was charged was excessive for this hotel yes the service was good but the room was very run down and not worth the price the amount that was charged for breakfast was also excessive a long with the charge for parking. The location was fantastic but I don't think that I would ever stay there again.

Arrival was great. The bathroom sink was lower than my waist and I'm five/nine. You can take a shower, use the toilet, and brush your teeth within the small space. The breakfast was cold and not good at all. No one said it wasn't complimentary and when we went to leave they still wanted us to pay $10.00 for this nasty 'ol breakfast. Last but not least I found two cookies under the bed when I was packing up to leave. Great staff, just a horrible hotel...

Visited hotel in May of 2016. Upon arrival to room, noticed it was hot. Could not get AC to cool room to any comfortable temperature. Called front desk and the "engineer" was sent to look at it. He said there was some component he needed to bleed, but it would require getting a hose and bleeding in the bathtub. We were going out and I left telling him we would be out for a few hours and that would give him the opportunity. We arrived back in room late at night only to find the AC not working sti... This team just gets it. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like everyone is working hard to make you feel at home. Perfect front desk and checkin is flawless. My room was spacious and beautiful. The meeting spaces were easy and well laid out. The hot cookie at checkin was amazing. The pool area is wonderful. I was not a fan of either on site restaurant. The room was big and clean. The TV was great, which I appreciated bc the NBA Finals game was on! Neighbors came in late and were LOUD. That's was the only issue I had. I did not report the issue. The neighbors quieted down after 45 mins to an hour or so and all was good!

This hotel is still lovely, but a bit threadbare. That's why it is currently undergoing a "facelift" of sorts. The staff is very friendly and eager to help. Seriously the best service I've had in New Orleans. The rooms are clean, and the staff does their best to keep the construction disruption to a minimum. It's really good now, but when all the work is complete it should be fantastic!

I stayed there June 20-23, 2016. One evening 10 minutes after I entered the room I saw a mouse go under the TV cabinet. Was not sure where it came from. So, I opened all the drawers looking for it. I called the front desk. They said someone would be right up. 15 minutes later I saw the mouse run under the door out of the room. So, I rolled up a towel and put it by the door to keep it from coming back in. Called the front desk again. They never came to check it out. This was on the 10th ... Read more

This hotel is across the street from Harrahs Casino and is located on Canal Street (where the street cars are-and they are cheap!). We walked through the French Quarter, to the original Cafe Du Monde, and to the Riverwalk. It was very close to the Cruise port too- 5 minute drive or you could walk there if you don't have too much luggage. Rooms are just okay with a very tiny bathroom. But, if you book very early you can get a great rate close to $100 per night! That was worth it!

Can't beat the location. Staff was friendly and courteous. The bathroom was EXTREMELY small, though. Plus, the walls were very thin. We stayed in a room that was in the middle of the hall, yet we heard the elevators every time they ran. Carpet in our room was dirty, too. Hotel is going to be renovated soon, and I am anxious to see what it will be like afterwards.

Cons: I was in a "remodelled" room with a mattress that slumped down in the middle, so it feels like you're sleeping on a slope. Turndown service was average: hairs were not cleaned out of shower, nor were the sink area thoroughly cleaned. Faucet is positioned too close to the sink, which resulted in water splashing all over when you wash your hands.

Requested a different room on a higher floor that has been renovated. The walls are thin as we can hear the family next door. But our bathroom is much better but still really small. No place to hang towels up after showering to save water. Our room has a mini refrigerator... Read more

We had five nights here. Check in smooth and given a yummy warm choc chip cookie. Room had recently been refurbished so was lovely spacious and new. Huge big king size bed very comfy. Ice machine didn't work whole time we were there but wasn't really a big deal. Would have loved safe in room but we were able to put our valuables in safety deposit box reception. We were informed because of Reno's some rooms didn't have safes in room. Fair bit of noise some mornings due to renovations . Would choo... Read more

Hotel has a great location if you are heading for Bourbon street. Well kept and clean rooms however our experience got ruined by a terrible noise in our room, like a buzzing sound that kept going up and down. The ceiling has small square polystyren and we kept having to get up during night to hit them as they kept rattling from whatever made the noise in the room. I was planning on giving the hotel 4 stars, but after talking to reception i told them that i would give just the one. They have all ... Read more

This Doubletree is close enough to the French Quarter to be convenient, but far enough away to get some rest. You can walk or take a short cab ride to Bourbon Street. Harrah's Casino is just across the street if you get the urge to play. We enjoyed a drink and watched a little football in the Wow Cafe before heading out on Saturday night. The breakfast buffet was exactly what we needed before setting off to the cruise terminal to continue our vacation. We will stay here again if we cruise ... Read more

I spent to much money to stay in the room that has two full sized beds, rusting fixtures, and construction going on. But if you go on the 14th floor it was just like we stepped into a whole new world that is not right, for people to pay that amount of money.

We recently stayed for four days in New Orleans for a family reunion. We were in a newly remodeled room (room 1508), that looks beautiful and fresh, but I can't help but think it was designed without a final user test-drive, and certainly not with women in mind. The things that struck me as off were: 1. It was strangely hard to wash your hands in the bathroom sink. The faucet was placed so far back in the sink that you couldn't get your hands under the water without maneuvering and touchi... Read more

Equidistance from French quarter and convention center. Right next to hurrahs. The rooms were nothing special. Smallish with older dated amenities. Rooms are in need of a remodel. The hotel was under renovation while we were there. Pool was nothing special. Very basic. Close to everything we were looking for and an ok price.

The hotel location was great and love the Pinkberry location, great advantage and marketing tool. The front desk staff was superior and very accomandating, they worked very hard on meeting all our needs. I can't remember the operation manager names, African american gentleman, about 6'5, medium built, how was outstanding. Like I said before Britttany and her coworker who checked me in on Wednesday gave stellar service.

My family & I stayed at the Double Tree in Kenner. Kindra & Michael at the front desk were both wonderful getting us checked in quickly and directed to our room! Their directions to our nearby travels were great & our boys loved the cookies they gave us!! It was a nice experience. The lady bartender was very sweet getting me cups of ice for poolside too. I just didn't get her name. Great staff!

It's a wonderful place to stay! Just a short walk from all the action and just feet away from the casino! The rooms were very clean and the staff was helpful. The beds were just right for me (on the softer side). The only con was the $40 for parking.

Our stay was great, the price was fair but the parking is what kill you. Whatever your price is, add another $45 per night. My parking for 4 nights was $170. I love the location and the hotel but the price for food and parking makes me look for another area. This was our 2nd time staying at this property.

I was traveling cross-country by train and needed a place to stay overnight in New Orleans before taking the train to Atlanta the next day. Also stayed here on the return trip. Doubletree was perfect -- close to the train station, friendly staff (how can you fault a hot cookie when you check in???), nice breakfast (but no 24 hour room service, so my early departure to Atlanta had to be without sustenance; not so the return trip -- a diverse buffet breakfast was on offer at the later hour when I ... Great place to stay in New Orleans, especially if you want to visit Harahs Casino. Room were very clean and quite. Restaurant wasn't that great but there are plenty places to eat on NOLA. Easy access to any thing in the Quarter. I used Harahs parking so I can't commit on that.

Went to this hotel and had booked junior suites. The hotel is under renovation and they failed to tell us up-front. It was noisy and dusty. They could not provide a secure parking location for our cars we ended up parking 1.5 miles from the hotel and the hotel could not provide a shuttle. Run down hotel with a staff that does not address your issues. Go elsewhere.

This hotel did not live up to my expectations. First, the bathroom in my room was so tiny that I nearly had to back out of it. The toilet has been constantly running since I arrived and the seat is wet when I lift the lid. Also, there are no towel racks or hooks on the bathroom door. If one isn't careful, you could step out of the shower into the toilet! The staff are nice, but I've asked fir maintenance to check the toilet three times no, and no one has done anything. The renovation they are doing to the hotel is coming out great. My room was amazing, it had been remodeled. I love the mirror they have in the bathroom now. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Another thing, I loved about the hotel is that they send you a text message and you have settled in. You can ask them about anything via text without having to pick up the room phone. I stayed here many times, always feeling less than satisfied at check out. When you come here for work we really just hope for a clean room and a soft bed to sleep. They've at least met those minimum standards in the past. However, with the recent renovations, the rooms are really much nicer than they were before. We will certainly stay here again taking advantage of our diamond Hilton status and getting a renovated room.
