"Greatest location in the heart of New-Orleans. The hotel is on Bourbon and Orleans, On Bourbon you get great music (jazz, blues, rock, etc.). But, if you need quiet time to sleep, ask, as we did, for a room facing the courtyard instead of the street : therefore, you get the best of both worlds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Jonas working in the dining room was especially sweet. The room very nice and the bed was so comfortable."

"My stay was such a positive experience in its simplest terms because of how convenient this hotel is to all the best places to visit in and around the French Quarter. If I had one negative to put out there is the neighborhood clubs play loud music till late into the night/early morning. So, you may not want to stay on the first floor as I did. Beautiful and clean with friendly staff and great pool courtyard. I stayed weekend before superbowl and got an amazing rate. Cannot speak for rates during major events. I will seek this Hotel out again when booking future trips to NOLA which is often!"

9AM DEPARTURE AND A 1PM PICK UP AND ALSO A 1 PM DEPARTURE
USING THE SAME VEICHLE THAT YOU ARE PICKING UP THE 9 AM DROP
OFFS. THEN MAYBE ANOTHER AROUND 4 AND P/U AT 12 AM. I SPENT

"The hotel was beautiful and located in the perfect spot within the French Quarter. The hotel staff was very friendly and responsive. The only complaint I have is the room service was only ok. They made up the bed and tidied up but they didn't really 'clean' the room. However, the hotel as a whole was VERY clean. We enjoyed the Bourbon O bar, as well. The pianist was a blast. "This hotel was a great place to stay for our Honeymoon! We upgraded to the duplex room with street view (for only $30 extra a night!!) and it was perfection! Rooms are huge and very clean, the wrought iron private balcony made for the perfect 'New Orleans' experience.
The staff was very friendly & helpful! My husband & I LOVED the salt water pool!!
Only issues were: room service didn't get 1 breakfast order correct (not a big deal) and there was no mini bar in the room. Other than that, we wanted to move into this place!!

"Our room was great. We were offered a larger suite for an additional charge, but I wanted to stay in the haunted section so we took the smaller room. We didn't spend much time there. The hotel is so conveniently located we popped out to the French market in the AM, dropped our purchases off in the room and then cruised Bourban or Royal Sts or rode the steamboat or trolley. There was a great pool that we never got to try due to the weather. Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. They pointed us in the right direction every time. The free drinks at the bar were great and the free jazz brunch at Two Sisters was superb! Would definitely stay here again."

Although it is close to the crazy night life on Bourbon it is a low key hotel and very peaceful! You will definately get a good nights sleep if that is what you are looking for. "It was an awesome experience. It is right in the the middle of all the action in the French Quarter. When we wanted to be in the action it was a few steps away but if we wanted some quiet time our room was our little hide away. We could not hear any noise from the streets below so getting a good nights sleep was not an issure. The consierge, front desk, and doorman were so friendly and helpful. We received free breakfast vouchers for their resturaunt and it was excellent! The pool is secluded in the middle of the hotel in a courtyard atmosphere. The location was so convenient to all the 'must do' New Orleans adventures. Loved the historical feel to the hotel with the conveniences needed to make it a wonderful stay. I would definitely stay here again!"

Despite the noise and excitement and bustle outside, the Bourbon Orleans is like a calm oasis in the midst of it all. Our window was double glazed so virtually none of the noise from the ruckus in the street at night reached us. The pool in the inner courtyard is a great location to cool off and unwind after exploring the unique delights, tastes and sounds of New Orleans.The hotel is 200 years, but beautifully restored and decorated including new bathrooms and amenities. The staff were great and treated us like real guests, not just customers. We got a flash deal through bookit that included a great rate, free drinks on arrival and vouchers to a Jazz brunch at The Court of Two Sisters - this you must do!"

The pool area was very nice even though we did not swim. We ate at The Sunday Brunch for $16.95 per person but they had a very limited selection and the food was so-so. I highly recommend asking for a courtyard facing room, but ours was still fine and we had two kiddos with us! "The hotel location was great within walking distance to several main attractions.rnI liked the hotel's location and I also liked the bar that was on the first level of the rnhotel, drinks were reasonable and the bar staff was friendly. The pictures of the hotel rooms was a little deceiving, the rooms were a little small for the price, but as said by others,'you don't go the N.O. to stay in the room.' I selected this hotel for the location, not the room. The overall staff was very congenial, I hope that no one leaves their valuables in their rooms or in their cars, common safety. The cleaning staff was very helpful, needed a shower cap, the HELP left one by the T.V. The hotel's location was the best. I also must mention the maintenance man, we could not locate T.V. station T.N.T. on our telvision to watch the the basketball game, he gave us two tickets to drink free at the hotel's bar. We watched the Sunday's night game at the hotel bar, the club's atmosphere was common to the city, party, party, party."

"My husband and I stayed at the Bourbon Orleans for three nights over Memorial Weekend. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but here are specifics:nPros: n1. The location of this hotel could not have been better as it is in the heart of the French Quarter, right off Jackson Square and within walking distance to the trolley stops and Frenchmen Street. n2. Pool is lovely on a summer afternoon although it is difficult to reserve lounge chairs in the morning.n3. Hotel is beautiful and has lots of character (and ghosts).nCons:n1. LOUD. We stayed on the 3rd Floor and could hear housekeeping yelling in the morning, revelers coming in at night, and anyone else who spoke above a whisper in the hallway. Probably has something to do with the large gap between the door and floor in the rooms. I shoved a towel in between, which helped somewhat, and brought a sound machine after reading previous reviews. Also, we were next to a generator or some machine that made an inordinate amount of noise at night, but that probably helped drown out the hallway noises. Earplugs might be necessary for light sleepers. And thankfully we weren't next to the continuous 3 day party that was happening down the hall (we are in our late 20s but there's no way I could deal with those kids all day and night; I'm thinking the adjacent rooms were empty).n2. Our room was tiny, smaller than a college dorm room. The queen size bed (French Queen) dominated the room and left little space for walking around. I slammed my head and elbow on two separate occasions on the large desk that is shoved against the bed. Tip-place a pillow on the side of the bed. Also, the windows from our 3rd floor room faced a large concrete wall. So NO VIEW. n3. Room was in a bad location. From the elevator, we took 4 right turns and walked down several long corridors to reach our room. nBottom line: Now I understand why-the hotel has some rooms that are not worth the price the hotel charges normally or we were just stuck in one of the worst rooms at the hotel. I was extremely happy with the hotel's location and we didn't spend that much time in my room anyway, but if you're more interested in comfort and top notch service, one of the big chains on Canal would probably be a better fit. And for those staying here, ask for a room close to the elevator (housekeeping seemed to start cleaning the rooms farthest from the elevator first, so sleeping in might be a possibility that way, plus it's not as far of a hike to the room). And don't be afraid to ask for a different room-maybe you'll get a ghost! :)n"

"The staff was excellent! Hotel setup for rooms far from elevator inconvenient, but bellhop let us use staff elevator for convenience. Room very small for price paid. Access to vehicle was inconvenient, but valet workers were excellent to deal with. Happily went and got items that were forgotten in vehicle. Very quiet for hotel on Bourbon. Would definitely stay again but not in standard (cheapest) room"

"The location of the hotel is perfect for a NOLA visit. Bourbon St. and the French Quarter are all in walking distance including all 3 trolley stops. Rooms were nice sized, we had 3 adults. Everything is clean and new from the renovations. We had a 1st floor room facing the pool and courtyard. This was perfect. Winding down outside your room next to the pool with a final cocktail at the end of the night was nice. Any room facing the courtyard will give you peace and quiet for a nights rest. The front desk staff was always accommodating and the Concierge was a great asset. Every recommendation he made was right on the money. Our room did not get made up 1 morning while we were at Cafe du Monde but the front desk handled it immediately when informed. We did not eat at the Hotel so I cannot comment on the food. Our trip to N.O. was fantastic and the hotel was everything we expected."

"We stayed from May 12h - 15th . Our standard room was on the 6th floor. We were told we were to have a courtyard view, our view looked on to the street, which was fine. Also, the windows are like attic windows and do not open, we requested a fridge as there was none in the room. On the second day, May 14th, we were awoken to the sound of construction crews BANGING loudly outside our room. They were tearing up the carpet and replacing it. This continued from about 930am to the middle of the day. NONE OF THIS was EVER communicated to us by the hotel staff. I told the duty manager that it was highly inconsiderate to not even inform guests that the construction would be taking place. The day before was my birthday and was out celebrating quite late, the last thing I needed was to hear pounding and hammering RIGHT OUTSIDE MY DOOR at 9am. I was near tears when I complained to the front desk. The manager apologized, said there was a mix-up in the construction start time and that he had moved OTHER guests, but not us. That was it. Because I booked through an agency, he said there was nothing he could do in the way of a discount or refund. I was highly disappointed. Later, I ran into some other guests who also complained about the noise and was told he manager had sent them vouchers for a free breakfast. Nothing was sent to our room. This experience was highly disappointing and really, for more than $200 US a night I really do expect better customer service."

"Great location if you're going there to head out on Bourbon St. If not I wouldn't stay here the noise will not let you sleep at night. Very poor selection of TV channels available in the room, but that's probably not high on your priority list. Staff was fine, a little bit of an attitude. Pool was great, breakfast was good, rooms were good size. Overall a very enjoyable stay."

"The inconvenience started by receiving a room with 1 bed for 2 people, despite booking a room with 2 double beds. The room was exceptionally small and cramped with a flood light directly above the window. When asked for a change in bed configuration, we were told they were 'at full capacity'. The maid service was shoddy--the maid cleaned the room 1 out of 3 days. Free dinner vouchers for a nearby restaurant were included in the room booking and the hotel staff were misleading and unhelpful, resulting in the vouchers for dinner never being issued. Also two drink tickets for the hotel bar were included in the price of the room but the hotel bar was infrequently open, resulting in the drink vouchers never being used. The cost of the room and the hotel rating lead us to believe that customer service and quality were important to this hotel, but their actions were not consistent with this mission."

"The hotel was very nice. The room was very small. It was clean and decorated nicely. It did not have a refrigerator, a safe, and chairs and/or a love seat. The only complaint was that the toilet plumbing was very poor and rusty. You have to hold it down until it flushes down completed even if you are doing No.1 only. When we arrived in our room, we couldn't use the toilet because the inside of the toilet was nasty and very rusty and had a brownish color on the bottom. I have never seen a rusty toilet like that for a four star hotel. We told them and I think that the try to clean it when we were out but it didn't come out completely because it was so rusty. What the management should try do is to update all their toilets or find a way to remove the disgusting rust cause no one wants to see that when they come to a four star hotel. It looks like they recently did some renovations to the rooms, which included the bathroom. The showers door only went halfway across and the whole floor would be soaked by the time you were done taking a shower. A shower curtain would resolve that problem. The staff was wonderful and we found the staff very helpful and very pleasant. The staff was extremely polite. The manager greets and has conversation with you. The best part of the stay was the hospitality of the staff especially the front desk. They both made us feel so comfortable and happy. They are also made us smile after a long flight. Everyone was helpful. Would definitely return again."

Though it borders on Bourbon Street, this hotel isn't the least bit trashy, and while our room was near the corner of Orleans and Bourbon the noise of evening raccous didn't make it's way into our room. "The Bourbon Orleans is a beautiful hotel with a great location if you want to stay in the French Quarter. Our room, with a Queen bed, was very small (there was barely enough room to walk around the bed), but it was nicely decorated and fairly clean. The bed had a memory-foam top on it which made it very comfortable. At check in after a long day of traveling, the desk clerk gave us keys to room 654 and announced that it had a 'beautiful pool view'. When I opened the shutters to take in the view, there was no pool view at all, only a roof from the adjoining building. I was disappointed but figured that we wouldn't be staying in the room much anyway. The concierge had a weekday off, but the day clerk was very helpful assisting us with things to see and do. Everyone was very friendly there and we will definitely stay again when we return to New Orleans."

"The Building and decor were just beautiful and we completely enjoyed that. The housekeeping staff were for the most part very friendly and polite as were the great guys at the door, the absolute bad apples in this rotten barrel were the desk and management staff who when they found it convenient to acknowledge that you were there did their utmost to send you away. They did not actually say it but I got the impression that since we were booked through an agency and not directly (they were not handling the money) that we should direct our problems back to the agency, we were told more than once that we should contact the agency to resolve an issue or question. I told the desk that the TV remote did not work (it was not replaced), the shower stall leaked baddly onto the floor (onone with a tube of caulking showed up, the bedside clock did not work (not fixed or replaced) As lovely as the building, location and rooms were, realising that we regularly travel to NOLA for the Jazz Fests and will continue to do so, we will NEVER stay at or RECOMEND this hotel again."

"My husband and I treated our daughter and her husband to a weeks stay during the Jazz Festival in the French Quarter. The hotel was a central hub for all our desired retreats however we were extremely impressed with how fantastic the hotel was. "The hotel is beautiful on the inside. They recently did some renovations to the rooms, which included the bathroom. I don't know what they were thinking with the showers because the door only went halfway across and the whole floor would be soaked by the time you were done taking a shower. The room itself was small, and I wish it had a mini refrigerator or something in it. Although there were no food vending machines so if you wanted something you would need to either order room service or walk to the market to get it. I found that odd. The first day the maid service didn't show up until close to 5pm, so we told them not to bother. The second day was the same, but we happened to be out when they came. The room was never really cleaned...just the bed was made and towels replaced for the most part. Don't bother with the breakfast in the morning. We had vouchers for free full breakfast, but it was not good. Fruit flies all around the food and cold food were the main reasons. The pool area was lovely, but the pool itself which was supposed to be heated was cold. We had a hard time sleeping because it was very noisy. We did not have a balcony, but were on the 6th floor facing Bourbon. I suggest maybe a room facing the courtyard instead. On the plus side, it was the perfect location in the French Quarter. So if you are not planning on spending a lot of time in the hotel itself, this would work."

The Staff goes out of their way to help, the whole facility is very clean and it was ccentral to the French Quarter which was the focus of our stay. This did not bother us but as noted by another , they do use the pool area for weddings and such, so it is not always available. "we could have done without the upgrades being done during our stay and having private functions in public areas was not satisfactory at all. one of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the use of the pool, unfortunately 2 out of the 4 days we were there we could not use it. to appease us we each received a free drink ticket at bourbon o. i think for the inconvenience we could have gotten a free meal. the staff was very courteous and appologetic, but it doesnt change the fact that we had to either sit in our room or spend money, when we just wanted to lay by the pool. bottom line is we paid for a pool we couldnt use!!!!!!"

"Good location. Rooms very small - only 1 chair and about 1 foot on each side of the bead. The parking rate is OUTRAGEOUS!!!!! $37 PER NIGHT. Friends stayed only one block away and paid $10. Other rooms had a fridge and a clock radio. We did not. I would possibly return but would make other parking arraingements and would warn anyone about the room size and parking and let them make their own decision."

" New Orleans = Fabulous Customer Service which started right at the front door & throughout the entire hotel!! Everyone was so awesome and more than willing to help at any time!! Our rooms was luxurious, just like the pictures on their website, the bed was amazingly comfy and the best shower!! A great buffet breakfast was included, bonus, great bartenders!! Talk about location, its in the heart of the French Quarter, steps away from Royal, Bourbon & Jackson Square, and a short stroll to great jazz on Frenchman. "Although this hotel is beautiful and at a GREAT location, the service was HORRIFIC! We booked two rooms. When we arrived it was a little early and neither room was ready. We expected this so we walked Bourbon waiting for them to call when the rooms were ready at the actual check in time (3:00 pm). I did not receive a call by 3:45 pm so we went back to the hotel to check on the progress. One of our rooms were ready, but the other still was not. It wasn't until about an HOUR after our scheduled check-in time that both rooms were ready. When we left the hotel to see the town one of my friends told the doorman 'be back soon.' He then under his breath said 'I hope not!' This was COMPLETELY unnecessary. We did not pay money for staff to be RUDE to us. While in the rooms we called down for water and it never came. We called down for towels, and they never came. We called down for shampoo and conditioner and it never came. One time when we went to the front desk for water (since we gave up calling them for anything) we were informed that the hotel was OUT of water. I do not understand how a hotel with guests RUNS OUT of water. The house keepers began working very early and they yelled across the hall to each other. It was so loud that we could clearly hear what was said over their walkie talkies. After check-out, I realized I left a couple pairs of shorts in the room and had to call to see if they were found. We were told to talk to several people at several different times before anyone could give us an answer. The night manager that we spoke to was incredibly rude and not at all helpful until we were rude back. The location of this hotel in NOT worth being treated like this. I would NEVER stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone who likes being treated as a decent human being."

"The Hotel's location is in a perfect spot. All the attractions of the French Quarters (day and night) are within walking distance. The rooms have been updated and were bigger than I expected. My overall experience with this Hotel was good and I would go back but we had some minor issues during our stay. Check In was supposed to be at 3pm but that did not happen. At 4pm We were lucky enough to get a room ahead of the 15 other people waiting to check in. We had booked and pre-paid for a King bed but upon check in learned that we were given 2 doubles. (No King rooms left). It was obvious that the room had not been cleaned properly. We complained to the front desk and were advised that we would be switched to another room with a king bed, once it was cleaned. We checked in around 6pm. Day 2. We returned to our room around supper time and noticed that house keeping had not been to our room (no towels, bed, garbage etc). We contacted the front desk and were advised that the cleaning staff had gone home for the day. We spoke to friends who were staying on the 6th floor and learned that cleaning staff were still cleaning that floor. We spoke to the front desk again and learned that there must of been some sort of miss communication. Overall a great trip and we would stay here again- the Pros certainly outweighed the Cons."

"Would have been all 5s had it not been for the Breakfast on our first morning. The hotel was offering a complimentory breakfast of very high quality. Unfortunately, they did not properly staff for the number of guests so the wait to be seated was very long and then once seated they lost our order. Our waiter had the nerve to say there was nothing he could do about it and we would just have to wait it out if we wanted to eat. Needless to say, we didn't. Everything else about the hotel was exemplary. We mentioned our experience to the hotel manager who was most apologetic. The next morning breakfast was a very extensive buffet rather than alacarte!"

"I stayed 4 nights at the Bourbon Orleans hotel in early March... It was wonderful! The employees at the hotel are very friendly and seem to be so eager to help and please you as a guest in any way that they can. The rooms are beautiful and the up keep of the hotel is very nice. Any employee that I passed (in the hall, at the door, at the desk-just anywhere in the hotel) always had a smile on their face and ask how everything was, if they could help you with anything or just to say 'hello' or 'have a great day' !!! " For the deal we got, which included 2 free drinks at the bar, a free brunch buffet at court of 2 sisters, and free breakfast at the hotel, the price was definitely worth it. The bar is pretty dead though We ended up getting a king bed b/c the rooms were all booked due to the marathon. The bed was pretty comfy and big so we had our personal space at night. The hotel has an outdoor heated pool so that was nice. The only problem is if it's cold outside, it's super hard to get out. The hotel also has a history of being haunted so if you are into that thing, it's definitely a cool experience. We didn't see any or hear any though. Room 644 is supposed to be haunted. I wish I could have gotten that room! The only bad thing with the hotel was the breakfast is not that great."

"Best location for a first time visit to New Orleans! Smack in the French Quarter, yet a courtyard view room will yield a quiet stay. Some construction/remodeling was still happening, we were told they had finished. The first room we got faced a wall and the 5th floor had just been painted with plastic covering the floor and heavy fumes, it took 2 calls to the desk clerk from me and 20 minutes to change our room. Wished our room was larger for our 4-night stay, would have appreciated an upgrade. The 2nd floor hall and carpeting needs upgrading, our floors were sticky and all door hinges need oiling! Elevator access for some of the rooms are not convenient and will have you walking the entire floor to access your room or using the staff door as we did to walk up and down the stairs. The hotel staff was slow to pick up their trash, but over all were polite. As Californians we liked the non-smoking rooms yet people could smoke at the hotel courtyard, pool area and most of the clubs in New Orleans, which was challenging for us. Daily breakfast at the Roux was a plus and kept us fueled. We were able to walk from the hotel to the Mississippi River, Canal Street, Treme, Frenchman's Street, Armstrong Park, etc without any problem. I would stay here again and use this service if we'd get good rates, a larger room and additional perks. I'd also recommend the Bourbon Orleans hotel to friends."

"Our family stayed May 17-May 20.There were 11 of us and we all loved it. We were there for a graduation from Tulane Law. What a great hotel! Very lovely, nice, newly remodeled very clean rooms, unbelievably good location for the French Quarter, Cafe Dumonde, the museums (be sure to see the Katrina Exhibit), St Louis Cathedral. It's the corner of Bourbon and Orleans, Royal street on the back side. Be sure to get a room facing the pool unless you plan to party on/with Bourbon St all night. The staff was especially nice, friendly and very kind and helpful. WIsh I could have stayed longer. Thanks to all the wonderful folks there who made our stay so enjoyable!"

He was really knowledgeable and helpful with all of our questions as this was our first visit to New Orleans. The valet parking was wonderful. We never had to wait more than a short time for our car and street parking is nearly impossible to find. New Orleans is a great town and the hotel is a great place to stay. "The hotel is in a great location. Well within walking distance of the Riverwalk, Bourbon Street and the parade area. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is showing a little wear, but renovations (unobtrusive) are underway.
I had read other reviews that the waitstaff in the Roux were not helpful, but we did not find this to be the case. The breakfast buffet is beautiful with lots of variety. The grits were cooked perfectly and the sugarcane syrup was an interesting and tasty change from maple. The only suggestions I have for this hotel to make a great experience even better is to find a way to lower the noise level in the bar. It was full of people shouting at each other; such a contrast to the sedate manner that the rest of the hotel portrays. My other suggestion is to vacuum the rooms more thoroughly. Our room was perfectly clean with one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in, but the floor had not been vacuumed and the shower floor needed cleaning before use."

"This hotel was the BEST! We stayed from 09/12 to 09/16 it is one block from Bourbon street we were so close I could have thrown a rock and hit it. But far enough away that we didn't hear a thing when we went to bed. The bed was very comfortable, the staff was very nice and the room was neat as a pin. Best vacation ever! "Our family had a great stay at the Bourbon Orleans. My husband and I took my parents for a 5 day trip. Besides the great staff, the location couldn't have been better. It was easy for my parents, being in their 70's to walk right out the door and in to the action of Bourbon street. Great music and restaurants we're close. The hotel was very helpful suggesting walkable restaurants to go to. I would definitely recommend the Bourbon Orleans if you want to be in the heart of the French Quarter."

"Stayed at this hotel during JazzFest. Was relatively happy with my stay. As my boyfriend and I left the hotel he had realized that he left a poster that he had bought in his room. We called the hotel and asked that it be shipped to our home if it wasn't too much trouble. Needless to say, the hotel had charged my credit card $46.26!!! If they would have told me it would have cost 4x the cost of the actual poster I would have said keep it. I considered looking past the uncleanliness of this hotel because of its location, but now I know that these people are scammers. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. Go to a better hotel in New Orleans, you may pay a little bit more, but at least you know that you won't get scammed. Ridiculous"

"This hotel is ideally located... close to the action but surprisingly quiet inside. The staff was friendly and always ready to help, giving tips on great dining in the city. We would definitely stay at this hotel for our next visit to NOLA. We were very impressed with the value we received for our money."
