"The room certainly wasn't huge, but who can really expect that downtown anywhere for a reasonable rate? Everything was very clean and everyone was helpful during our stay. The Blake is right on St. Charles Ave right on the major parade route and on the streetcar line. Unless you have to don't even bother to take a car. You can get anywhere in the city for $3 a day with a transit pass. 5 minute walk to the French Quarter, 2 minute walk to Mother's. 0 minute walk to the parades for carnival. 10 minutes to the convention center and aquarium. Look, if you go to NOLA and spend more than a few hours a night in your room, you're doing to wrong. We aren't a couple of kids either, but the city just starts to wake up at 11:00 PM.

If you want to talk about helpful staff; I forgot some travel documents that I needed one day and ran back to the room to get them while the cleaning person was there. When I had difficulty locating them she dropped what she was doing to help me find them. I don't know anywhere or anyone else that would have done that."

"excellent hotel, very quiet and clean. prime location 2 blocks from Harrahs casino and riverwalk, and 2 blocks canal st and bourbon st. 4 blocks from superdome. restaurant in blake hotel was a little expensive, but the food was very worth it. The front desk staff was also very friendly, gave me what I needed and answered any questions that I had"

"We had a good experience while staying at the Parc St. Charles. It was clean and very conveniently located. The elevator had a foul odor but luckily the room did not. Only problem we had was getting the staff to bring up towels. We registered and checked in as a group of 4 and we were given towels for two. Make sure that when you check in you request to stay in a room that is not by the ice machine!!"

"I arrived on Wednesday, June 27, in the afternooon, check in took all of 2 minutes..awesome as I had been travelling all day. No bell man to take my suitcase but that was okay as everyone was trying to make sure we were not being affected by the dust from the renovations...very thoughtful. The room was well appointed and comfortable...the pictures shown online are real. Very clean room and bathroom...the young lady came and cleaned everyday. I went to the supermarket to stock my refridgerator including microwavable food...friends came over from other hotels to use my microwave..lol! as their more expensive hotels had no such convenience. I needed afork and the front desk promised to call me if they were able to find one ...in less than five minutes there was a knock on my door...my fork had arrived. The hotel is very central to all the tourist sites and transportation (bus and street car) stops right in front of the hotel. The restaurant had very tasty food reasonably priced. I walked a lot...while i would rather take the bus, I walked from bus stsop to bus stop and before I knew it I had reached the casino, the riverwalk and the Convention Centre where my Kiwanis International Convention was being held. By the time I left 4 days later, the lobby area was complete and beautiful.
I would definitely stay there again. Well done Parc St. Charles, you have made trip to New Orleans a success."

"Spent three nights in the Parc. St. Charles during a summer trip to New Orleans. There were some major renovations going on so the cleanliness was affected by that. The room itself was nice and the AC worked good, which is a definite requirement when in New Orleans in June. The hotel is close enough to the French Quarter to walk, but there is a street car that stops on the same block in case you're to worn out. That same car will take you to the Garden District so it's really convenient."

"The hotel was conveniently located and offered a decent value. The room was clean, adequately sized and the bed quite comfortable. A west-facing window the full-width of the room kept the air conditioner hoofing. When the AC cycled on it was hard to hear conversation or television. The bathroom was a bit cramped, with a pedestal sink and no counter space. The shower drained poorly and hot water seemed to be easier to get during off-peak times. Our door lock required a bit of an extra push to engage.

The small staff were friendly and cheerful. The lobby renovations were proceeding without inconvenience to us. The elevator we used was a bit dated and liked to rattle to a stop. The only vending machine in the building was out of order. The valets were courteous, but seemed to have quite a long walk to wherever the cars were parked."

"Like everything else in life you do not appreciate it until you don't have it. It would have been more convenient to know that the hotel was undergoing renovations BEFORE we got there. We were traveling with 10 people so it was inconvenient to rearrange meeting up when there was no lobby or lounge. The restaurant would not charge to our rooms so we had to eat at the same time or pay on our own. They also stop serving breakfast at 10:30AM! It was very inconvenient not worth the expense. We would have loved to use the coffee pots in our rooms to hold off on breakfast, but housekeeping never made it up with extra coffee packets on 3 mornings we called to ask for them. We never saw the staff except for Valet so I cannot comment on friendliness unless we count the construction workers that moved their ladders so we could get by. The biggest challenge was turning on the showers. One would think if it was that obscure a system they would print and hang directions! They could have removed the broken alarm clocks, extra unused furnishings, broken phones to at least keep up appearances! Or spackle the walls when they moved wall art. I could have ignored all of the above if the bedding and towels were new. If you are going to stay open during renovation you could still make it pleasant. Can 't even say we got what we paid for because other hotels on the street had more to offer for little more."

"Hotel was very clean . Staff is very friendly and helpful!!!!!!!!! The front desk staff deserve a stool or chair to sit on non busy times. The hotel was under renovation and at random times we could hear the construction. Although, it wasn't bothersome since we didn't spend much time in the room. One night a couple on our floor were fighting, screaming and punching walls from 3am to 4am. However, I believe they were escorted out of the building. The price and location were right on! Mass Transit is awesome. For a $3.00 all day pass we rode the street cars and buses everywhere. Also tour buses pick you up at you're hotel or at a location nearby. Definitely do not need to rent a car in new Orleans. So glad we opted not to rent one. The fitness facility is not on location but on the next corner. It is huge, fabulous and all inclusive. Bring your gym shoes as the classes are pretty intense. The hotel restaurant was a bit pricey but with so many other places to eat, who needs a hotel restaurant. Also their is a most awesome Rouses food store a couple blocks away so can fill your room with all the snacks and drinks you need. Every Wednesday night from 5pm to 8pm there is a free concert in Lafayette Square which is next to the Hotel. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band was the headliner the week we stayed. There was local food, drinks, vendors, and musicians. It was a real good time! Yes, we would stay here again!!!"

"I wasn't aware that the hotel was doing renovations. There was lots of loud bumping and hitting throughout my stay. The hotel lobby was torn up with plastic, lights and caution tape around it. The property was a lot older than I expected it to be. The telephone in the room looked like it was ready for the dumpster. I did enjoy the room and the staff was great. They were very helpful in all aspects of our stay. Will look to stay with them again."

"On a recent weekend trip we had to book last minute for an artist's reception for a piece I had in the Femme Fest exhibit. Prices were high b/c of French Quarter Festival, but we found a room here that we could afford. Some of the reviews from people that stayed for the FInal Four were not so great, so I was worried. But it was amazing...prompt valet service, a nice, huge room, very clean, very professional & super friendly & helpful staff. We wanted to grab lunch in the quarter, but weren't ready for our bags, so the front desk kept our stuff (including vluables) in a locked closet until we were ready to get the car from valet. I would totally stay here again!"

"This was a not what to do experience. Construction mess was horrible in the lobby. We had no hot water and called maintenance. They came quickly and told us it was all fixed. We had a dinner reservation so didn't double check. Got up the next morning and no hot water. Same maintenance guy came looked at it turned it on told us it was plenty of hot water but he would try to turn it up. Still no hot water. At this point we were late for our plans and no shower yet. We asked for a new room which they had 4 hours later. They told us we could go take a shower in a room that had not been cleaned yet! Yuck. Had to call housekeeping on the 3 rd day to get towels, trash taken out and coffee. Bottom line so many nicer places to stay in on St Charles. The good part, loved New Orleans!"

I used the valet service and when I got my car two days later, it had an extremely large amount of debris and water spots all over it. Again I was not impressed with conditions. "We rode the Amtrak train into New Orleans on Friday and had to stay overnight before we could board the Carnival Triumph on Saturday. The Parc is conveniently close to Harrah's Casino which provided our one night stand entertainment. The hotel room was very clean and nicely appointed. It had a real closet. However, the bathroom lacked a counter area. There was no where to place your toiletries. We were on the sixth floor which provided an excellent view of the St. Charles streetcars. I must say the carpets in the hallway were wrinkled and worn. However, the carpet in the room was much better. The elevator is located in the bar so I can only imagine the difficulty of navigating through it amongst revelers on Saturday night or any other 'party' night. The room was non-smoking so my wife had to go downstairs several times throughout the night (she has insomnia and only sleeps for short periods) but she didn't feel threatened while standing outside the building. The cafe (no free continental breakfast) in the hotel served delicious food at standard NOLA high prices. The staff were very friendly and allowed us to store our luggage after we checked out while we ate in the cafe and waited to go to the cruise terminal. I wish I had booked this hotel for the three days we stayed in NO after the cruise instead of the other one!"
