"Great location just about centered between the French Quarter and Canal Street. Our room didn't have a window and that was odd...didin't like not getting daylight in or being able to see outside. The breakfast was very limited...just breads and cereal. Didn't like that the staff tried to serve you at breakfast, prefer to get my own coffee and cereal. Nothing fancy, but nice change from your basic chain hotel and the location is perfect."

"The hotel was in a great location. The air conditioner was not working properly in the room. We had to turn the air conditioner to 64 degrees in order to at least make the room pleasant to stay in. The bathtub drainage was horrible. It took the longest for the water to drain. The elevator was very small and it didn't have an airconditioner which made it very hot in the elevator. The elevator could not hold many people. The hotel was very overpriced for the weekend which was the Essensce Festival. It was very quite in the hotel. The so call breakfast was horrible. The selection was very limited and not very impressive. So don't bother find a restaurant to have breakfast. The staff was very pleasant. They greeted you when you came in and out of the hotel. The parking rate was $20.00 a day plus taxes which was not bad compared to most of the other hotels. Overall the hotel stay was pleasant besides the minor things listed."

"Hotel was not very impressive. Upon arrival we were greeted. Staff friendly. Prompt servcie. We didn't have to wait and was told that our room was ready. When we got to the room there was this horrible smell of mildew, staleness and dampness in the room. After turning the air conditioner on, I thought the smell would subside but it didn't. We left for several hours and when we got back the smell was so strong that my husband and I got nausea. I told my husband that I wanted to go home but instead we call the front desk and told them that we could not stay in that room because of the odor. They promptly had me look at another room to see if it was ok. The other room was smaller but didn't have a bad odor like the other one. We took the room but still was not satisfied. We stayed because we had spent so much money for this room and wasn't sure if we could get our money back. When we got ready to leave the desk clerk told me that if I wanted a room for next year to call the hotel to ensure that I get a better room. So if you book through someone else you don't get the best room? Well with that being said it was a horrible experience and I would never return to Bienville House hotel. However, it was in an excellent location."

"We had a group of 8 in our party. Everyone had just the best stay at the Bienville House. The beds were comfy and cozy. We had a room with no windows and LOVED IT!!! Speaking to someone who wakes up at 5am every morning I woke up at 7:30am by alarm... We are planning another trip as soon as we can wire down a date...and it will definately be at the Bienville House. The elevator was broken one of the days we were there, but they made a concession on the parking so we were very happy...!!!

"Some hotels have an impressive facade ,lobby and restuarant, then ,disappiontingly, a cramped ordinary room. Not so at Bienville House. My room,( deluxe two queens ), was all New Orleans,conplete with french doors and a wrought iron balcony. The ceilings were high, the view of the courtyard everything I expected of a 300 hundred year old building. My only regret, that this trip was only one night. Next visit- same place- longer stay. Staff could not have been more courteous."
