I just want to share my reservation experience with this hotel. I had reserved a room for 2 days in May through Booking. It was specifically indicated that cancellation was free up to 3 days before arrival date. A couple of days after I had made the reservation, the hotel debited my credit card for the full amount of the stay. After having cancelled before the three-day deadline, I called the hotel to make sure they would credit my card back. I was told on the phone that it was not the policy of... Read more

This was a nice clean hotel, right on St. Charles Ave. The hotel is located in the Garden district about a mile and half from the French Quarter. The trolly stop is right in front of the hotel, so there is no need for a taxi or Uber to take you anywhere. The staff is nice and accommodating. The hotel has a small pool and hot tub, decent gym. It also has a roof top area you can bring food and drinks to to watch a beautiful sunset before heading out. It was nice and quiet and near many local eater... Read more

Once again a great stay at an awesome property. We arrived early, but we were checked in right away and got into our rooms early. My husband and I didn't have as nice of a view this time (we over looked the courtyard last time), this time it was a building under construction and lower rooftop of, I think, the restaurant adjacent to the hotel. The room itself was very nice and clean. Plenty of space for the two of us to spread out and enjoy our three day stay. Loved having the kitchenette fo... Read more

We stayed as a family of 4 in a 1bd/1ba condo. Beautiful decor and furnishings throuout, well maintained too. Kids slept on the fold out couch, no problems with that. Bathroom is tiny, but we managed. This place reminds us of the Camlin in Seattle. This hotel is away from the french quarter which helps with noise, still, a room on higher floors facing away from St. Charles is highly recommended as the street cars run 24 hours right in front of the hotel. Taxi's were only $10 to $12 going to the... Read more

Stayed there for three nights in Mid-May, and had a good time. The staff was helpful and very friendly, and the accommodations were clean, good, and well-equipped to cook or enjoy morning coffee in your room. While not located in the French Quarters, it's not a far drive, only about $9 by cab, or you can take the trolley. Plus there are places you can walk to right on the same block and vicinity of the facility. Valet parking very convenient.

Stayed at the AVP during our 5 day visit to New Orleans Sat-Wed of this week. The property was lovely, very clean and in a great location. The St Charles Trolley is right outside the resort and was a very easy way to travel. All staff were friendly and very helpful. We loved the location and dined at three restaurants nearby including Mr Johns. We exchanged in to this property and were very happy. The Avenue Plaza is an easy shuttle from the airport and on the St. Charles Trolley line in the Garden District. Our lodging was just fine; one bedroom with limited kitchen off the living room; we mostly ate out, but having coffee and brekkie items out of the fridge was perfect as eating New Orleans is part of the must do experience! Nice pool, attractive lobby, friendly staff - we just plain had a good time and got relaxed - it's New Orleans, not the Ritz, folks - go with the flow and be a loc... Read more

This Resort is in the beautiful Garden District on St. Charles. It is away from the downtown area but with the Streetcars, it is easy and fun to go into the downtown area. It is stop and go for people to load and unload so if you are in a hurry call a cab. The resort staff was wonderful and helpful. We purchased tours with discounts and they called to make the reservations. There are lots of great places within walking distance to eat and purchase groceries. The units are well equipped wit... As Worldmarks go, this is very satisfactory. Parking was $23 for two nights but the car was secure. The studio room was quite spacious but the bathroom was quite cramped. We had a problem with the hot water the first night but they sent up someone in an expeditious manner and it was fixed. The staff were very professional and courteous. And there are free laundry machines on the second floor with good capacity. You can take the streetcar into town and there's a stop right at the corner. You can... Read more

Everybody is extremely friendly. The room is wonderful. A great place to stay. The streetcar stops across the street, so no driving once you arrive. The fee for the streetcar is 3.00 for 24 hours and it goes down to Bourbon St, as well as all the other tourist attractions.

This is a great place to stay. It is right on the St. Charles trolley line and the amenities are very nice. Our one bedroom suite was very comfortable with a wonderful kitchen / living area. The pool did get a bit overrun by rowdy kids with parents that could not or would not control them. The management did nothing to address the situation. Going back to the positive side, it is close to the walking tour of the Garden Disterict, great restaurants, and a Walgreens. The staff is very helpful and... Read more

The photos do not do the resort justice. It is located in the garden district. The streetcar stops in front. For a $3 per person, you can hop in/off the streetcar for 24hrs. There are restaurants, subway, convenience store located nearby. It is valet parking only. The check in process was smooth. Afterwards, you meet with the concierge who gives you pertinent info and discounts about nearby eats and attractions. The room we had was a corner room with a view of the super dome. Fab resort with such helpful staff. They all went over and beyond expectations. Trolley bus into town right outside the resort. So glad we stayed in the beautiful garden district as opposed to the French quarter. We were made to feel very welcome at the resort and the manager especially was so helpful and accommodating. The only downside was the heavy sell by the sales team! However we survived and loved every minute of New Orleans

The trolley stops right in front of the hotel, which was convenient for us. We didn't have to drive anywhere, the trolley take you wherever you want to go for a small fee. I'm not a picky person and hardly leave a review so when I do it has to be either extremely amazing or VERY bad. This case it was terrible!! The staff is not prepared or organized. The Wyndham Ave Plaza is in a great location in the garden district. Its right on St. Charles and the street car stops just across the street. We were on the 12th floor facing St. Charles. I love being near the trolley cars on St. Charles Avenue. The staff is very attentive and having a ghost house behind the hotel is a lot of fun to tour. The hotel was adequate to nice. I wish I could give 3 and 1/2 stars. The room had a kitchen area which was well stocked and the tiny bathroom had a separate dressing area which was handy for me to do my makeup. A long stay is probably better than a short one simply for the use of the kitchen. Staff was friendly. Downside: the water took literally 15 minutes to heat up. Water conservationists would have murdered us for wasting that much water. I had to turn on the shower and then go sit and watch... Read more
