We arrived past midnight and the area was looking pretty rough which is to be expected, I suppose, given the hotel's proximity to Bourbon Street. We were received by friendly, professional staff for quick and painless check in. The room was really nice. Recently refurbished, I'm sure because everything felt brand new. We were hungry and not excited about venturing out so we ordered after-hours room service which consists of cold choices. We got a sandwich and some fruit. The sandwich was huge, f... Read more

Thank the Gods we had earplugs. With the ambulancces, the cars and the occasional sax player, sleep was a sketchy and uncertain business. This hotel is in a historic building and has been refurbished. Our room was small but doable. The downside to this hotel is the $42/night valet parking fee. They have no regular parking so you don't really have a choice but to valet your car. The valet and bellmen outside were very helpful in giving us directions around town. Would recommend this hotel.

We had a nice room on the 14th floor. Sound proofing could be better but overall it was a fairly quiet room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It would be nice if the hotel bar was open later in the evening.

we had a wonderful stay the staff was wonderful friendly and polite. My only issue was with housekeeping they would never leave us enough wash rags or towels for 3 people in the room. They left 2 wash rags. The hotel itself was in a convenient location and very well kept. Just allow extra time for the Valet parking they stay busy.

Everything about this hotel was nice, the people, the building, the room; although the shower rod was sagging. The thing that causes me to rate this hotel average was the parking situation. It's valet parking, through an outside contractor. The parking garage is 4-5 blocks away from the hotel which leads to long wait times to get your vehicle, and you can't call down and have the car ready when you get there. Also the check-in procedure for the parking is extremely poor. You block a lane on... Read more

Made reservations a week out for this to be an over night stop from driving cross-country. Made it earlier than expected and was able to check into the room early. Conveniently located and clean! Only complaint was the drunk people in the room adjacent to mine being extremely loud at 4am when they got in. It was like they were in my room you could hear them so clearly. Once they passed out all was great again.

The room was ok. The bathroom had a couple issues, but maintenance fixed. Neighbors radio went off in middle of the night on full blast. Our room was not ready when promised and didn't get the room requested. There was NO on site parking and it cost $$$$$$$$ to have them park the car. To me it wasn't worth the money.

The hotel appeared to be clean with nice staff. Its has no parking where you can park and check in. Its design to make you pay $42 dollars a night even through its a public parking lot just 4 blocks up that charges $10 for day and night and is a whole lot easier retrieving you vehicle. Fess to the hotel was expensive as well with the bell hops forcing you to use there services since you couldn't leave your vehicle while you check in.

I attended a convention and this hotel was a good price and ended up being a great location too. Literally at the corner of Bourbon and Canal. Just outside the door easy access to dining and shopping. Honestly not a city I have ever felt safe in but this helped. I felt comfortable enough to venture on my own. Room was great and had everything I needed. Would definitely recommend.

Hotel was beautiful, and the location was perfect. Everything was within walking distance. Our room was high enough up so the sounds of Bourbon Street were not loud. Room was clean, staff very friendly. Free wifi. My only complaint is the $42 per night parking fee.

This hotel has a grand entrance with old style charm. The staff is helpful and friendly upon check in and departure. The rooms are smaller, but not without charm. The high ceilings are great. You will want to valet (there is a charge) as there is no parking. The bellman takes your luggage to your room. When leaving request your car could take 10-15 min., but also give the bellman time as well. It was very clean. My room didn't have a view, but I was only staying 1 night passing through.

I stayed at the Astor for the first time during the 2016 Essence Music Festival. The room was really nice and clean, the location was great, and the staff was super friendly. I had a great stay at the Crown Plaza. Despite being in the middle of the Bourbon Street area (not my favorite part of New Orleans). the hotel is well run and clean. The room was fresh and very cool. I loved this hotel! They were prompt in responding to all of my requests. The bed was comfy, the hotel was clean, the restaurant was really good, and all of the staff were friendly! The location is central to everything! It was right in the middle of the convention center and the superdome which allowed me to walk everywhere. Overall we had a good stay. There were 3 problems. The ice maker on our floor didn't work for the entire week. The commode ran off and on all the time. These were minor inconveniences, but should have been repaired. In all fairness the hotel was sold out. Lastly, they lost our car and we waited an hour for it. They did comp a nights parking to make up for that. All in all I will stay there again and I would recommend it to anyone.

If all you care about is hanging out on Bourbon St, this is the hotel for you!! It is very outdated inside the rooms, especially the bathrooms. The sinks are worn and drain slowly. The hotel staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful, with the exception of the concierge, who never seemed to be on duty when you really need them. I never got to speak to a concierge. Furthest out was the French Quarter but not too far. There's shopping, cooking stores, restaurants, bars, etc. all along the way. I hope to stay her again.

Wonderful hotel and the room was very spacious and very clean. Housekeeping was respectful of our time and not interrupting and asking to the clean the room. But, just as would come back from sightseeing everyone would be in tip-top shape. Great location to see all the sights. Was nice to come in the afternoons and take a rest before going out again in the evening.

The Astor Crown Plaza is beautiful, clean, and located very close to the fun activities in the French Quarter. We were checked in quickly and everyone was friendly. I would give them a 5 for the room. Extremely clean and we'll maintained. The bed is comfortable although the linen could be softer. Beware if you are driving...I know it's normal in large cities with parking problems, but the valet fee of $52 a day is ridiculous.

We stayed three nights and arrived at 8am asking to leave our bags until check in time. They found a room that was ready so we could check in immediately which was a bonus. The room was a good size and the Burbon Restaurant at the hotel had a good variety on the menu and the service was excellent. The location was fantastic for both the Street cars, Burbon Street and the French Market, and also the hop on bus if used.

Enjoy the ambience of an elegant hotel with restaurant and amenities, convenient to the shops and night life of the old French Quarter. Stroll and shop all day, then come back for a leisurely evening and good night's sleep.

The Location is perfect, within walking distance to Bourbon street and all the best spots, the hotel was very clean the rooms were spacious. As for the noise level I did not notice, heres a tip get a room on the highest floor possible. All In all I would highly recommend this location!!

The location was great. Our room which was a king size bed room was alittle small but clean and didn't smell. One thing that wasn't good was the outside noise. So I would suggest an interior room. Our room overlooked Canal St. The service was excellent though. We would stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay at Astor Hotel on Halloween weekend. Convenient location on the main street of town. Great facility, food and service. Walking distance for all bars, reastaurants. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was quiet and clean with comfortable bed. A good value for location.

I stayed at this hotel on business for 4 days but brought my mom and 1yr old daughter with me. The staff was excellent - especially the valet and bellhop staff! Henry in valet was so sweet and kind to my daughter...she loved him! Carmen & Ralph were also wonderful to us! I wish I had caught more of the staff's names because everyone was beyond helpful. We also ate at Bourbon House in the hotel twice. The food was excellent, service great, & the chefs tolerated my little girl watching and wa... Read more

If you want to stay on or very close to Bourbon Street, the Astor Crowne Plaza is a pretty good choice. It's situated on the corner of Bourbon and Canal Streets and you can just walk out their side door and be ready to stroll down crazy Bourbon Street. The property is an older building but the rooms are modern, clean, and very spacious. Some rooms have absolutely no view (I stayed in the room 440 and our window looked out over the industrial air conditioner and the garage). If you want a roo... Read more

I stayed at this hotel my trip to New Orleans and it was perfect! Being right in the center of Bourbon Street, it was perfect for getting out and walking and easily getting back to the hotel. The room was extremely nice and there was no noise from the street to make sleeping a problem. I highly recommend!!

Located on the corner of Bourbon Street, had a great New Years just walking up and down Bourbon St. Hotel is old but room was ok, although we could her our neighbours quite clearly. We did not eat at Crown Plaza as it was always busy so we explored New Orleans Stsreets to eat. If you want a good breakfast we did end up eating at Ihop but everyone raved about another place but unfortunately I cant remember the name of it and the line ups were ridiculous.

I really felt like staff cared for us as guests. They were courteous and professional. The beds were very comfy and noise was low. I have been staying in the French Quarter in different hotels form many years. This is one of the best i've stayed in. I would highly recommend to others.

A refuge in the midst of the saddness and chaos of Bourban Street. Great service, clean quite room. Concierge was helpful and so kind, I wish I had written his name down. Front desk attendant at 2 am was very accommodating and printed out boarding passes. Security was polite and helpful and cautious asking us to describe the room before allowing us into out room when our keys stopped working. We were so glad he did that . Very nice visit.

The location is perfect, the rooms are nice, no long lines to check in or out, the valet parking is convenient and easy to use, and most of all the manager Alvin King was a delight to work with. He always had a smile on his face and couldn't have been more accommodating.

My husband enjoyed our stay at the Astor Crown Plaza. The staff were professional and helpful. The location is perfectly located between Bourbon and Royal Streets. It is right in the heart of the music, art, and food! All are within walking distance and the street car is right out the front door. The property is well kept and clean. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. A refrigerator though would have been a nice addition. Other than that it was a great stay!

We booked this hotel for a convention in New Orleans. The location is excellent, right on the corner of Bourbon Street and Canal St. The room was nice but I was expecting more from a 4 star hotel. The room had a broken lamp, a missing towel hook in the bathroom, no microwave or refrigerator and a few details that don't give it a 4 star rating. If location is important, this is a great place. Plus, the drink prices were definitely 4 star in the bar. The restaurant was excellent though but pricey ... Read more

This is one of those hotels that actually takes its guests for granted. It has a good location in the middle of the action within the French Quarter and it knows that people will stay there no matter what. The internal services of this hotel, from bell captain service to room service, need a lot of work to function like a full service hotel. I once called down for room service and someone picked up the phone and then hung. I called back and no one answered, I was granted a late check out to... Read more

I understand this is the French Quarter, but mice in your hotel room is totally unacceptable. What is even more surprising is having the front desk ask if you want to change rooms as a result. Really!!! No I don't want to sleep with a mouse. The fact that other reviews also mention mice should keep everyone from staying at this hotel.

Stayed at the Crown Plaza Astor this year and really enjoyed it. From the time we pulled up out front the stay was excellent, before I could open the car door someone was waiting to unload our bags. Room was one of the best I have ever stayed in. Location being at the corner of Bourbon/Canal makes travel around the area easy. You can catch the train right outside the front door and bourbon is outside the side entrance. St Charles street car out front gets you to Garden Dist for a couple dollars... Read more

The rooms have been upgraded recently and are comfortable. there is complimentary wi-fi with good band width. However, its not good and I think management is the issue. In my stay I encountered: 1. A lovely hotel in a great location on the corner of Bourbon Street. Staff at the front desk were helpful. No fridge in the room which we thought was strange. The Astor is conveniently located close to the French Quarter, but far enough away you can still get a good night's sleep. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was kind. Clean rooms, nice helpful staff. We had difficulty pulling into valet parking on canal, as they do not have a lot of room for cars up front. And the bellmen were excellent and helped us by weighing our luggage to ensure under 50 lbs. The hotel is located in the very center of the French Quarter. It is close to all major atractions of New Orleans. There is a lot of restaurants, with good quality of food.
