"This hotel is a little more rustic than one might expect after reading about it and seeing the photos of it on the internet. The light (a chandelier) in the room had two of five bulbs working, shades were unable to be opened so I had to adjust each slat by hand to see out. There was a courtesy coffee pot but no place to set it up near an electrical outlet, probably why they didn't notice that I had used the coffee the first morning (yes I set it up on the toilet seat!) but there were plenty of nearby places to get cafe au lait and beignet. This place is close to many attractions in the quarter. Queen bed is up against the wall and with no fitted sheets, we had a hard time sleeping in it without un-sheeting it when the one against the wall had to climb over the other one to use the restroom. Walls are thin and if your neighbors are partiers it may be too loud for slumber sometimes. Staff very helpful in arranging tours at discounted prices. Service is excellent. Next door is Johnny's Po Boys, a great breakfast and lunch spot for those who don't mind standing in line. The hardrock Cafe is across the street and there are plenty of tourist shops within a few hundred feet of the hotel. Short walk to the trolley, bus stop in front of hotel, but everything in the quarter is within walking distance. .."
