My first impression was with the clerk that checked me in He was inexperienced and not at all helpful From that point on, all was excellent. Too bad for that initial impression. Having three elevators was helpful. The food was great--mostly breakfast. I had a spacious room with all amenities.

The hotel is older but has been updated. The restaurant/bar area is huge and can accommodate large numbers. There is a concierge lounge, which was fully staffed and excellent. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist.

Always clean and the staff are always courteous and nice. I'm a fan of the warm cookie you are given upon check in too!! The rooms are spacious and clean. The food is pretty good and the bar is really nice to have a cocktail after a long days work. I've met some nice people sitting there in the evening.

After extreme flooding, my wife, two 18 month old twins and I could not leave Houston. The property would not allow me to cancel my reservation. It was a non-refundable reservation, but I couldn't control the choice to go. However, I DO get to choose who I stay with in the future (over 100 nights a year for work) and it will NOT be with these people.

I have been a loyal Marriott Rewards member with Gold Status for over 7 years. I decided a few months ago to give Hilton a try at a Double Tree property. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the hotel in Austin. I decided to give it a try again since I was only staying over night. Check in process was the quickest I've ever experienced. Room was just okay. Good hotel for the price.

The weekend of June 24, 2016 I stayed at the Double Tree in Lafayette. I was a little apprehensive because of my very bad experience in Lafayette at another hotel, about 3 weeks ago, for a similar price. I must say I was very pleased with every aspect of my stay at the Double Tree Hilton. The customer service, food service, room service, concierge, was all excellent. Best of all was the price. Skip the restaurant; there are so many fabulous breakfast, lunch and dinner options nearby that the mediocre food and slow service just should not be tolerated by guests or management. The hotel is the usual Doubletree and meets expectations of the chain. Sitting areas outside along the river are lovely and lively at night. Bar service is excellent. My room was comfortable and quiet, well-appointed and lacked nothing a traveler would need. So far, this is my favorite Lafayette lodging optio... Read more

We got this room as a Priceline express deal and for what I paid I was very satisfied. Even though there was construction in the lobby is was easy to check in and all of the staff was friendly. The lobby is under construction and it is awkward to walk through the bar with kids and the makeshift signs are confusing. That, however is understandable. When we got off the elevator at the 5th floor, the stench of something like flea powder is overwhelming. The halls have obviously not been vacuumed in quite some time, based on the visible dirt and debris all over the floor. Our room was so hot it took our breath away when entering the room. We had only a one-night stay, but the room was comfortable and clean. A crew was changing out the tile in the lobby, so a temporary front entrance was set up. They installed many signs redirecting guests where to go. It was dusty in the lobby because of the work, but the crew waited until 8 a.m. to start work, so it was quiet throughout the night. The hotel staff was very kind and sweet to my children, I like the pool and my daughter loved the location of the hotel. I would have expected alittle more in the look of the hotel though.
