They had a really good price on this hotel due to it being under renovation. The discounted price helped to put up with the construction. The staff was real friendly and helpful in all our request. When finished, it should be real nice. It was a great location for us and the breakfast was good.

Being a head housekeeper, I was very disappointed. There was no trash bags, I asked for extra towels when I reserved the room, they were not in there. Trash left in the trash can. Not very happy.............................

My wife and I decided to stay overnight at the hotel. Our room was clean but the floor was wet around the air conditioning system in room 306. We went to use the elevator and the only elevator was out of order on Sunday morning. The breakfast was quite good with sausage, scrambled and boiled eggs, pastries, cereals, juice, yogurt and milk. Unfortunately, when I slid my chair back to move a booster seat, there was a dead cockroach. Staff needs to make sure they thoroughly clean and vacuum by movi... Read more

We skipped this hotel last December as the website announced the effects of the renovations. This time they are almost done - no more noise or dust. The breakfast bar could use some upgrades and more variety, the rooms and beds are good.

Honestly, the place is undergoing some renovations, but I was out each day before any noisy stuff went on. The renovated room I was placed in was very, very quiet even though it was dead center on the first floor. The showerhead was above my head so good points for that. Being new it was clean and the bedding was good. Desk staff was excellent. I did not use the pool but it looked nice. There was night security so that made me feel better. Overall the place just smelled cleaner than anywh... Read more

The hotel was convenient to interstate, comfortable, quiet and clean. Front desk was helpful. Hotel was still undergoing renovations when I was there, but did not disrupt my stay. The breakfast area could get crowded during peak time, but variety was good and did not leave hungry. Don't know if renovations of my room on the first floor had been completed, but my only complaint would be that the shower curtain was a little too short so water could spray underneath the gap and get floor wet. ... When you pull up to a hotel and there are three police cars out front that is typically a pretty bad sign! We asked the officers if something was going on we needed to be aware of and they told us we should stay at the Holiday Inn next door because it was better. Not much we could do with that since we already had a reservation. Either way, there were some pretty shady people staying at the hotel. As for the actual hotel, I've stayed at much nicer Fairfield's. They are attempting renovations bu... Read more

I couldn't decide where to book a room while looking on Trip Advisor. The hotel is nice outside. They have been undergoing renovations but we didn't see it hear them. It's decorated nicely but the hotel is pretty old. Nice carpet and rugs but the structure is need of updating. The front desk, lobby and restaurant were all very tiny and it was very crowded in there. There is only one elevator and the hallway/ elevator is crowded. Breakfast- included in the price which is nice but we would... Read more

This hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. Those are the two most important things! I was worried because our room was right next to the elevator but we only heard it once while sleeping. The room did feel very humid with all surfaces sort of sticky feeling, but the south over all is very humid! The front staff were very courteous. The location was good for us to get on and off the expressway. The frontage road is weird though and not easy to navigate.

I have a family of five and we stayed here traveling back from Texas to the southeast. I was unaware that there is a law in Lafayette that you can only have four per room. We broke the law during our stay. The hotel was average and the lobby was packed in the morning for breakfast with no enough seating for everyone. Regardless, the hotel got the job done for us; a night's sleep and we arrived safely back home.

We almost did not use this hotel due to some of the negative reviews re being an "old hotel". Well the renovation and update is paying off: Marriott's signature classy and functional design is pleasing and convenient. The hotel is clean and there was hot, fresh coffee waiting for us when we arrived. The location is so convenient from IH-10. The receptionist was very warm, thoughtful and helpful. When we told her we were leaving early the next morning at 4am, we were surprised when she offered... Read more

Stayed here in July with my husband on a business trip for his work and we searched for a Marriott property that was not to far from I-10 and we came across this hotel. Upon arriving we noticed the hotel and undergone some type of remodel and it looks great and it smelled clean upon walking in. The check in process was smooth and quick and the front desk staff was just excellent and very professional I was just like WOW! They are very dedicated here. The room was clean and breakfast was very ni... Read more

We love staying at Marriott hotels! We know what we will get for our money and we know they will make it right if it isn't. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The hotel has an indoor pool, complimentary wi-fi, breakfast and parking. Our room had a microwave and mini fridge. The window AC was a tad bit too noisy for us but we were exhausted and made the best of our short night's sleep before returning to the interstate relocation road trip. Question: Why don't hotel rooms automatically ... Read more

I got a room with a single king size bed, room on the first floor. The overall appearance of the hotel is really nice, recent renovation really has taken this from a 4 star hotel in my opinion to a 5 star rating. The Desk clerk on duty at 4 p.m. Pamela made a long day turn pleasant and stress relieving. If you are checking into this hotel (Fairfield Inn & Suites Lafayette I-10....ask Pamela about the local restaurants, she will guide you to the food of your choice...wonderful lady, made my stay ... Hotel is located in town (not out on interstate) which makes it perfect for activities in Lafayette. Hotel rooms were very spacious and clean. My room was a suite (all the rooms maybe also). Room was very affordable. The complimentary breakfast featured a good selection and was tasty. The hotel is located on the banks of the Vermillion River with decking overlooking the river. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Clarification- 1) this hotel does not sit on the river and does not have a deck as said in a previous review. 2) renovations have been done. The hotel is a little gem that sits right off 49 w/easy access to I 10 and all that Lafayette has to offer. With clean, lovely rooms and a kind staff, it's a great place to rest your head. The hotel doesn't have a Porte cochere so if it's raining you will get wet unloading your luggage and getting a cart off the sidewalk is a chore because there's no dip ... Read more

Great location, right off I-10, smiling desk staff, nice clean rooms and excellent place to stay. Beds are very comfortable, and plenty of pillows !!! Better than average A/C is always a plus. Breakfast was average, with a good selection and great coffee. Will stay again !!!

Had a very nice room, very good service. Usual breakfast buffet, food freshly prepared. Indoor pool closed, but that didn't affect us. Would stay here again if passing through. Very convenient to I-10, which was a plus for us, since we were heading east to Florida.

Hotel is a bit worn - luggage carts could be replaced. Things look a bit tired. The parking lot is kind of tight if you have a big vehicle. Overall not bad for a one night stop over. HOWEVER the staff was fantastic. I am an early riser and like to get on the road at 0'dark thirty....the young lady that was on the morning I left (I wish I would have gotten her name) was so sweet. The front desk employee was friendly, personable and professional. After checking in, I noticed there was fresh coffee in the lobby and helped myself to a cup. That was a nice touch and the coffee was delicious . Our room was very clean and in a good location. The a/c in the room was relatively quiet. There was a fridge and microwave oven in the room too?? I arrived around 1:30 am after a 15hr drive across Texas. Deirdre was there to greet me and made my check in so pleasant. I was heading to my room and decided to buy a snack I couldn't make up my mind and Deirdre gave me a complimentary snack all thought it was a small gesture. It truly made this hotel stand out from the last 4 I stayed in on my cross country journey. The room is perfect and clean as well ???

We are Marriott Rewards members and we love staying at Marriotts! I had a test at University of Louisiana - Lafayette early Saturday morning. It is about a 10 minute drive but with traffic add some time, of course. It is a smaller hotel with an inside pool and a 24/7 fitness center. I like the concept of the indoor pool, though we didn't use it. Our first night we had no complaints. The bed was large, the shower was clean. The service when we checked in was mediocre, as well. We ended up drivin... Read more
