Under-renovation. LOUD, wait a year til the work is done or bring ear plugs and stay at your own risk. Reviewed what others wrote and agree with the ones that are mostly negative and for the really positive ones I have to wonder if they were really at this hotel. Its in early MAJOR renovation and sits on major freeway that always has Road Noise. They've removed one glass window in the rooms and put in thin flimsy plexiglass that offers virtually NO sound or weather insulation. The constant ... Read more

I was in Baton Rouge for a conference and this was the host hotel. I‚??d already read that the hotel is undergoing renovations, so I was already expecting cosmetic flaws before I arrived. Check-in: To start, my entire group of 20+ people had an issue upon check-in. We were not supposed to be charged the $40 per night incidental fee since our reservations were made and held on a government agency credit card. Before I handed over my debit card I asked the front desk agent how much was about to ... Read more

Wound up at this hotel after a mixup with booking at the Baton Rouge Renaissance. Was warned about the rennovations and possible noise but I didn't arrive until after 6pm and all was quiet. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. My room was kind of older but clean. I agree with previous reviewer that the drains in the bathroom are slow- I was on the 4th floor.

I have stayed here many times when visiting plants in the area. This hotel used to be the best place to stay in Baton Rouge but is in need of updating. Good thing is they are starting to renovate all of the rooms. Someone from engineering showed me the model room on the 20Th floor and it was beautiful. Very modern and European looking. These people are spending $28M renovating the place so give them a break and support the investment they are making by staying here. The location is great and the... Read more

4 yrs ago, I was grieving over my son who was shot the day before we arrived at Marriott. When we arrived, we met Miss Kayla to ask about a room. She was not only very professional, she was caring, understanding and so sweet. By the time we arrived to our room, she had a fruit plate with a note from the staff waiting on me. Every one of the staff in 2012 was so friendly and accommodating. Fast Forward 3 1/2 yrs to May 8th, 2016, as we arrived to the hotel for the trial, we walked up to the desk ... Read more

We stopped her on the way to Texas to visit my son. The staff was extremely pleasant. The room and the hotel is in the process of renovation so its hard to make a genuine review. The room was nice but the bathroom was small and there was no microwave or refrig as I expected. We decided to stay 2 days instead of 1 so there might have been a mix-up but when we returned from an afternoon out we found the bed had not been made up or room cleaned with no towels. I called the desk and we were given... Read more

As a current Marriott Rewards member (former Platinum Elite Premier, currently Gold), I have stayed at literally many, many Marriott properties all over the US and abroad. As such, I am well aware of Marriott standards, level of service, amenities, and consider myself a good judge of Marriott properties overall. I initially hesitated to write this review because I shy away from poorer reviews. But this one is deserved. I stayed at this property as part of a business trip to Baton Rouge in May... Read more

I stayed here with my sister for a show that was being done in the hotel! I absolutely loved this hotel, from the courtesy of everyone there to the rooms being so nice and best of all great comfortable beds with lots of pillows! I would recommend this hotel very highly!!

This hotel is one of the older Marriot hotels. We recently were at the hotel for an event. Upon arrival, we saw no one to take our bags or greet us at the door. The only people I saw were the clerks at the desk. They were very nice and pleasant. The parking in the parking lot around the building. We really could have used help with our bags. Anyway, we went on up to our room. Upon entering, the cigarette smoke was choking. We decided to call down and the lady at the desk let us change rooms. It ... Read more

The service was good. However, the WI-Fi service was $12-$15 a day (which is half the cost for home use for internet). Breadfast started from $11. Some black marks were found on the wall next to the TV.

Near LSU and shopping and restaurants, the marriott is the place to be. They have a full service restaurant, bar, and concierge lounge. The hotel was undergoing a renovation when I visited last, but noise was kept to a minimum. I have stayed at the property 3 times prior and the service is unmatched. Great Staff and amazing hotel.

We have stayed twice at the Baton Rouge Marriott in the past three months. It is undergoing renovation, so there are a few inconveniences and problems related to the work, but it is a well located and accommodating hotel convenient to the I 10 and most of South Baton Rouge. The staff upgraded us on arrival and were very proactive with problems due to maintenance issues (which are apparently being dealt with by the ongoing renovation.)

If you're expecting a true Marriott- this is not it. In all fairness, they are in the middle of a major reno that will be wonderful when it's complete. With that said, if you're wanting a swanky elegant experience- this isn't it. The price was fair and the room was clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful- so that is a plus. The breakfast buffet was not very good, so I recommend skipping it. The overall food and beverage leaves much to be desired. I expected better from a Marriott.

Wore earplugs due to interstate noise . Perhaps the other side of the building is less noisy . Must say , this hotel is in a great location in Baton Rouge . You can easily access many work locations , restaurants , and the different areas of Baton Rouge from this location(such as LSU). It's also a safe place to stay .

They are doing construction so there was debris by the window and it looked weird. The pool was nice. The room I had smelled a bit stale and the beds were uncomfortable and small. The staff was nice and the lobby and conference rooms were classy. I didn't like that wifi isn't free. Overall it was okay but not the best.

I am just finishing up my stay at the BR Marriott. I have to say that all the negative reviews for this Marriott are a bit unfair. Like others have said, this hotel is going through a major renovation, that being said, there was nothing that disturbed me or made the stay uncomfortable. The outside of the building has major work being done and there is an odd space between the window and a new wall on the outside (guessing that they are enlarging the rooms or adding balconies) so the view isn't g... Stayed here on business for a few days. Rooms definitely need updating! Very few outlets and no charging stations for phones. Beds are very low to the floor and slightly uncomfortable. Tub and furniture looks like from the 1980s. Rest of hotel seems very nice. I believe they are doing renovations on some rooms. Staff seem nice.

Every staff member has been very friendly and most accommodating. They are in the process of completely remodeling, but it is still very quiet. I would definitely stay here again. I'm anxious to see their remodeled rooms. They will have hardwood floorsū???

We stayed here last year when they were remodeling. They are still remodeling! Our toilet in our room did not work the entire one night stay. We called down and they said maintance would not be available until the next morning at 7:30. This meant spending the entire night without a working toilet. The next morning we called for 20 minutes before anyone answered at the desk. I gave her the room number and said they would be right up. After 30 minutes I went down to the desk to see why no one ha... Read more

My employer had secured a block of 20 rooms for our management team to stay at this location after the unfortunate recent flooding event. My room was a little dated being on the 13th floor..... The current remodel is being done from the upper floors down. It was clean and the bed was comfortable for my liking (soft and low to the ground). I'd like to point out that even though my room was on a direct billing from my employer, This location still recognized my Platinum Primer status and allowed... Read more

I came into town for work, and was fortunate to find a room at this Marriott. When I checked in, the front desk staff kept saying, "If there is anything wrong with your room...or we can fix anything, please let us know." That's a typical statement, but they repeated it so many times that I almost wondered what was wrong with the room. Turns out, I was the first person to check into the newly-renovated 17th floor. Brand-spanking-new rooms! It was amazing! Utterly amazing. The new rooms are huge, ... Read more

My Wifes company used this hotel again for a meeting, They are still working on the remodeling. This time we was giving a room on the 9th floor facing I10, This time it was not as loud. We requested a mini frig but was told that they only have 20 and if they had one we would get it, never got one. The room was ok. Housekeeping was not that good, some days they didn't replace our towels.

I just returned from a conference at the Marriott, and I was fortunate enough to stay in one of the newly renovated rooms. My stay was as close to perfect as possible. The newly-tiled bathroom was outstanding, with a rain shower that provided a great wake-up call. The room had several lighting options, including some that brightened specific areas. I have never seen so many electric and USB power outlets, but they were very much appreciated. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room w... Read more

While renovations are underway this hotel has not been appreciably changed since I was here 15 years ago. While November is a super slow period of time for conventions, this property would not rate high. Old rooms, old bedding and tiny bathrooms seem to be abundant here. Sometime in the future they may be better, but this is not the star of the fleet.

Dirty and stained mattress pads, torn sheets, dirt behind bed. Requested new ones and was handed a torn sheet and a duvet. They left the old stained ones on floor in hall. Not clean. Dated and torn walls and fixtures. Automatic 40$ incidental charge.
