The Hilton in downtown Baton Rouge is conveniently located to everything worth doing! The rooms are updated, and the terrace pool area is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed lounging by the outdoor balcony pool on the terrace overlooking the Mississippi River. Parking is a little steep so if you don't want to pay the valet parking prices there's a self parking lot a block away! I would recommend this hotel for families. There's a bar and restaurant on site!

The hotel was very nice and we enjoyed walking across the street to PJs coffee and then walking down the levy walk but it wasn't very long and just stopped I both ends. We asked the concierge where we might walk to the cute shops but she said we would need to drive to the Capitol around the park or to the LSU lakes. But if you need the hotel for convention or downtown event, I recommend it.

The staff are really the reason to stay here. They are super accommodating and friendly. The hotel has been updated, however we noticed several maintenance items (Windows, ceilings, etcetera) that had not been addressed. The new Hilton digital key system worked very well. We did enjoy the view of the river from room 824. I will try the Hampton next time because it is new.

Had to go to Baton Rouge for a friends wedding. Found this hotel on trip advisor and it got favorable reviews. It wasn't up to my standards. Room are Very small and bath rooms even smaller. It's in bad need of a face lift. I read somewhere that it was recently remodeled but you would never know it. The restaurant and therefore the food were not very good (ate breakfast there). Needless to say I was very disappointed.

My wife and I won a one night stay in this hotel at a silent auction. It was top notch. When we checked in the concierge made us feel so special, and we were treated with access to the Executive Lounge as well as free breakfast for two in the Kingfish Grill. Everything went well beyond our expectations.

This is a historic building however it has been refurbished and is bright. However....When we checked in we were told that our room was not ready. Fair enough - we were early. The guy on reception offered us another room which he said was 'identical' and we nearly accepted it until after a great deal of questioning he admitted it didn't have a river view (which we had paid extra for). He then suggested we have a cup of coffee and come back. We did - the room was still not ready. We went for lunc... Read more

This hotel is located right inside Baton Rouge Downtown by the mighty Mississippi River. It is very close to Louisiana Capitol and LSU Campus. I have been very satisfied with their staff during all my stays in this hotel. I especially found the staff in the restaurant and bar very attentive. They have always gone out of their way to help me with my choice of drinks and food.

I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Fire alarm went off constantly even at 5:30 am. which we then had to sit outside for over an hour. The stairwells were disgusting and scarier than the fire alarm waking us up. The pool needs some sort of vending machine or the bar needs to be open. Pool area was always messy and pool needed chemical treatment to make it look inviting.

I've read recent reviews and cannot agree with them. I thought our room was clean, well maintained, and had style. It was small, but we expected that. The view of the Mississippi was wonderful. The pool was small, but not busy and very refreshing. There were plenty of places to sit, lounge and relax. The exercise room was not huge, but even had free-weights. The location was great. So many things to see. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good times.

We had a double-queen room on the executive floor that was so tiny, we could barely move in it with our family of 4. There were 2 instances that the fire alarm went off: 1 morning at 7am for 30 minutes and the next day for about 5 minutes. Housekeeping was very minimal during our entire stay: we had to call for clean glasses and our bathroom floor was never cleaned during our stay.

We have stayed at the Hilton before and had a positive experience. Spacious room, good view of the Mississippi River and balcony access. This time on our 30th anniversary we got a room with not even space to have a luggage stand for one, much less two suitcases. Hotel was nice and clean. Food from room service was good. Room was kind of small. Our toilet wasn't working right at first but fixed itself. Overall, a nice stay. Would have preferred a river view though instead of the tops of old buildings.

This hotel is very conveniently located for museums and restaurants. The river view is stunning and the levee is walkable. The airport is very close and the hotel has a complimentary shuttle. Our meetings went weel, the space was very convenient. Meals in the ballroom wer lovely, and the food was regional, seasonal and delicious.

This property is very cool. I really like how it's restored. The pool on the 3rd floor is also really nice. My bed was pretty comfortable, and the ac worked pretty good. I had trouble sleeping because it's so loud. The doors stick, so anytime your neighbors come or go, you hear them slamming the doors. You can also hear everything they're saying in the hall. No sleep for 6 days because of noise. I thought it being located "downtown" would give me plenty of things to do, see and places to eat....no. It looked like a recovering ghost town. I walked blocks looking for shops...found nothing. There were only 3 good places to eat.

Upon arriving to the hotel we pull into the parking lot and parked next to a little grey car (a Volkswagon) and noticed the car while VERY smoky and cloudy! We sat for a second and watched these two employees sit in their vehicle and roll marijuana!! We IMMEDIATLEY pulled off and let Valet park our car considering it was unsafe to park in the lot! Great place. Staff were still upbeat despite just going through a 1000 year flood. Yolanda at the bar was such a good ambassador for the hotel and she was more than willing to recommend places to eat and how to get there. Very accommodating staff. Beautiful historic hotel. Make sure you get the history of the hotel at the front desk. Also make sure to visit Poor Boy Lloyd's next to the hotel for great po boy's for lunch ! Within walking distance.(1 block)

The best thing about this hotel was the location. The valet employees were exceptional but the service stops there. Don't go to the bar, the servers aren't trained and are frankly rude. Choose another hotel in the near location, I'm sure you will be happier.

The Baton Rouge Downtown Hilton always goes ABOVE AND BEYOND with their customer service. We had stayed at the hotel the previous year on our wedding night. To celebrate our first anniversary, I decided to book again. They upgraded us to the same suite we had the previous year! It was such a special treat. Our home recently flooded and have been living at the fire station where my husband is a fire fighter. We were so grateful for the night out and for them making it so special for us.

One word I'm left with to describe my stay: disgusted. DISGUSTED. At first glance the hotel is beautiful. But after walking into my room that changed. The room seemed cramped to me. The toilet won't flush. When it did, the contents came back up almost immediately. And the best part, I was awaken by a medium sized roach (yes a roach) crawling on my face! It all started well at the beautiful Hilton Baton Rouge. The building is awesome, a grande dame of Baton Rouge I assume, check-in was courteous, got upgraded to lounge access, and first impression of the room was great with a superb view of the Mississippi. Then it sank in, nice view but tiny room. And tinier bathroom. But still, it is a grande dame, you generally cannot get history and space, and I am ok with the former. Hotel services mediocre at best. Valet services awful. Overall we felt that the hotel was understaffed in every aspect. King bed rooms only have showers, tubs only available in double bedding rooms and the bathroom is extremely tiny. So small the people can't even be in the bathroom at the same time. Not a value whatsoever for the price paid. Difficult to recommend. As a gold HHonors member we've come to expect more in return for loyalty to the Hilton brand. This property just doesn't deliver.

The location was nice, but the rooms were relatively small and the level of service was average. It was just too expensive for what I received. The Mississippi River view from the window was pretty cool, although, most of the rooms do not have this view. Bring your own necessities, unless you are willing to pay excessively for them.
