We stayed here for a girls trip. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was equally beautiful and equipped with the latest lighting and technology. With that said, when we first entered the room it was very, very warm. (It's June in Kentucky y'all, why is the thermostat set on 74?) We immediately lowered the temp but it took a while to cool down. We left and went downtown and when we came back it was again very warm. After calling the front desk they informed us the AC unit is "eco friendly" and turns... Read more

As most the other reviews, this gets the rare 5 star rating from me. If you don't like studio apartment sized rooms with modern furnishings, an amazing breakfast that also happens to be complimentary, upscale decor everywhere, and free drinks in the afternoon, don't stay here. Staff is extremely friendly. I stay in lots of hotels, lots, and this may be my new favorite. Only small criticism would be the fitness center is on the small size, but is well equipped with free weights up to 50lbs, 2 b... Read more

This was my third stay in the past 6 months to see my guy and each time it feels like we are staying with family. Without a doubt the food and beverage staff makes the experience. Starting with supervisor, Danny, who goes above and beyond to make our experience just one notch higher than the last. You just know that he is a professional who takes pride in the service that he provides. We enjoy the evening receptions with sassy/sweet bartender Cynthia who makes us laugh. This is the second time we have stayed at this Embassy Suites and we love it! The price of the room is a little expensive but then you have to take into consideration the evening reception and the wonderful breakfast! The staff was wonderful, food was great, and the room was spacious and beautiful.

A little late in my review of this hotel, but I just booked another stay here and I remembered I wanted to give kudos to this place. My daughter and I, along with a few other teammates, stayed here Dec 2015 for a sports competition weekend. The hotel appears to be newly renovated. The suites are nicely appointed with a microwave, refrigerator, Keurig, 2 large televisions etc... They are spacious and pretty trendy. One major bonus- one of the two rooms in the suite is sans carpet! They have lovel... Read more

We stayed at the Embassy Suites Louisville for Mother's Day weekend to attend the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby. FYI, if you are booking for this time of year, I suggest you book as far in advance as possible. We booked about a month in advance and most of the hotels in the area were all booked up. We did find a one bedroom suite at the Embassy and we were pleasantly surprised that the hotel was so luxurious. In fact this was by far the most luxurious Embassy we had ever stayed at. We like ... While I have never stayed at a Trump towers or such, I have stayed at Crown Plazas, Sheratons, Westins, Hyatts and other upper tier hotels, this place topped them all. The rooms are ridiculously large, well furnished, spotless, and maintained incredibly well. The bathroom was large also with a huge walk in shower that was immaculate. The couch has a TV and so does the very luxurious king size bed. Other Embassies I have visited have had nice spacious rooms, but this one beat the band. Other ... Read more

Recent overnight stay was great! Lobby was luxurious. King room was spacious, clean and updated. All staff were friendly. When inquiring about a late night dining location, front desk desk person walked us out of hotel, down 1/2 block to what turned out to be a fabulous late night dining experience. Had room trouble from the start, our 1st room had many defects , including trim falling off the wall in the middle of the night. they did move us to another room, a smaller room and the toilet whined when you flushed it!!!!! they did fix the toilet the next day. but we never got a room up grade even after asking for one. they comped the parking is all!! Not satisfied at all for a supposedly new , high-end hotel in down town Louisville !!! was close to night life.

It is what it is, but the moral of this story is you need to know what it is before booking. Embassy Suites was launched in downtown Louisville to some fanfare, and we made several dumb assumptions about the hotel before reserving for a birthday and anniversary weekend. First, we assumed that it would not have ghastly flourescent lighting that turns everything a weird shade of blue/green. Second, we assumed that the huge picture window in the bedroom would have a decent view, which might make ... Read more

I was very impressed with both the hotel and staff. Although you may pay for quality, we had a great experience staying there for the Kentucky Derby. We stayed for 6 nights and the hotel set up is far different from other Embassy Suites that we have stayed in. Evonda, our waitress at the Manager's Reception, was amazing and we already miss her. She was always ready for drinks for our groups. She remembered what we drank and as soon as my glass was empty she had another one already headed my way. I left my phone number at the front desk to call when our room was ready and never received a call. The next morning, staff didn't think it was a big deal at all. I always wonder why (in the US) there are any rooms that have two double beds -- adults don't want to sleep in a double. The bedding is comfortable, and the staff is helpful. I like the fact that they have an evening reception with complimentary drinks and snacks, as well as a great, complimentary breakfast. The breakf... Read more

Hospitality was nowhere near what we expected for an Embassy. Our tile floor was sticky and had very little hot water the first night and no hot water the next morning. Walked past front desk several times and employees would even look at us.

This is a lovely hotel with spacious rooms and large bathrooms. It has an exceptional, complimentary Happy Hour with a full bar, not just wine and beer, a wide variety of foods including fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, and desserts. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and the staff in the breakfast room were terrific. The front desk was very well staffed with a number of polite and helpful staff. There was never a line of people waiting. Some negatives: 1) Parking. We understood pa... Read more

The hotel is beautiful. Not your normal Embassy Suite's. I was extremely happy with the location for downtown Louisville. The hotel is walking distance to a ton of items. Very clean and with the exception of check-in everything was great. They would get 5 stars but check-in was lacking. I am set to be in Louisville next year for a month and this hotel is in the top pics to be at for a month. The options the rooms have for space, amazing breakfast and reception in the evening without compr... Read more

Similar Embassy floor plan one comes to expect but extra room and tall ceilings made this an especially nice room. Room clean and comfortable. Happy hour same at all but the staff--working ver hard--remained friendly, efficient, and fun. Check in friendly, efficient. Lobby spacious and upscale for an Embassy Suites. Valet quick and friendly. Very comfortable stay but the staff made this extra nice--very friendly!

Great hotel and great staff. This isn't your typical hotel since it has a lot of the old hotel charm with wide hallways and large bathrooms though the rooms are quite modern and quiet. There's a CVS adjacent to the lobby. The included breakfast had made-to-order omelets and everything else you would want to eat along with a great staff.

I couldn't have asked for better accommodations. It's too bad the hotel didn't realize that we were part of a wedding party. No gift for guests in our room. No knowledge of transportation to the wedding.

We booked with Embassy Suites for our wedding block. It's a newer hotel and beautiful on the inside, not too modern. The rooms look fresh and new and even the "standard" suite is a nice size. The beds are comfortable and I think most rooms come with a decent size fridge. The breakfast has oatmeal, eggs, bacon, cooked to order breakfast. We didn't get to use the pool while there but a friend's daughter did and had a blast. We would stay at this Embassy or consider others in the future.

Rooms were very small and the layout was weird! View was terrible. I was quoted $200/night and charged $250. NOT worth it!!! Beds seemed small. I slept in the bed my husband on a small sofa bed. Beds were very clean and comfortable. Complementary breakfast was the best!

Came for one night (11/12) with a group on our way to another destination. Hotel is very clean even though a small bit of construction is taking place. Location is fantastic for 4th Street Live area as it's less than a block away. also it's nice having a CVS as part of the building in case you need anything last minute. It's also only about a 20 minute / $20 cab ride to Church Hill Downs Dinner drinks / snacks were very good although the amount of people their was way too much for one bartender... Read more

Very nice hotel with spacious and cleanly rooms. Staff is very friendly and attentive - the only draw back is the cost to valet ($27/night) and the high-traffic area making getting in and out a bit of a challenge. We would definitely stay here again however.

The breakfast was the best I've had at a hotel and the service at the breakfast was also excellent. Now for the not so good, called the front desk for towels and it took hours before anyone came. Second time we ran out of toilet paper and had to call twice and it still took an hour to receive it. The location is great just wish you had a self-parking choice.

Room, food, service, and extras like the pool are great! The rooms have a good touch of modern. The food taste as if it was made with gold. Service was like they were expecting a king and treating h/she like one. I really got to exercise the way i wanted with what they have and the pool looks great. Great stay!

Some of the receptionists had an air of arrogance and acted as if they were better than the customer, not a good way to start one's stay. I must say the rest of the staff was great. The shower in the room leaked so badly we had to put bath towels on the floor to keep from flooding the living area and when we notified maintenance we were told nothing could be done during our stay. Our stay was beyond our expectations. The sleek modern lobby, conversation areas, spacious halls, lovely pool/spa area, restaurant, all the staff were beyond anything we have experienced and it wasn't $500 a night. Only $140 and included a lavish made to order breakfast, free cocktails and snacks in the evenings and lovely restaurant/bar. When you go to the races in May, make this your stay. Across from the Historic (but boring & three times the cost) Sealbach Hotel.

The hotel itself is really nice, modern, friendly, clean. The valet parking is awful! When I pulled up, I think the guy just got his driver's license! He didn't offer to help with my luggage, and he was too young to be driving an $85,000 car! I'm pretty sure he won't make that much money in the next 3 years, let alone should be able to drive a vehicle that expensive!
