Although this HGI was very, very busy due to a convention booked at the expositon center they dealt with all of the needs and expectations of their guests. Their shuttle bus and drivers (to the exposition center) were great and allowed us to stay out of the driving nightmare. Food was very well done. Because of the traffic issues we stayed in each evening. Although the friendly food service staff was not the most polished it made certain we got the food we ordered and never rushed our meals. On arrival it took less than one minute to register and get out room. Staff was quick, polite, smart and helpful. The place was clean, the food was excellent and our room was what to expect of a hotel of this level. Not a 5 star only because of the price I guess. It was 5 star enough for us. On the 6th floor the water pressure was low at times (I am knit picking), WiFi sucked even with the premium packages and the TV reception was not very reliable. That being said you will not be amiss by stayi... Read more

We stayed in the hotel for one night on May 28th. The hotel is very clean and close enough to Papa John's Stadium to walk there as well as an easy walk to the Fair and Expo Center. Will not hesitate to stay there again next time I am attending an event at one of those venues. Next time I will definitely skip the breakfast though, most of the hot food was cold. It wouldn't have been good even if it was free but it was over $15.00 each so it was really bad.

This hotel is due for upgrading. The rooms are well worn and so the staff doesnt keep it up. Bed spreads were dirty. Food service was good for breakfast . No one at the front desk wants to smile nor do they mention it if you are a Diamond member. The staff needs some retraining on customer service for the prices that are charged.

We stayed at this Hilton Garden for a weekend getaway to Louisville. It is a 5 minute drive to Churchill Downs, 10 minutes from the heart of the city, and 20 minutes from Horseshoe Southern Casino. Highly recommend the hotel and its location. The service was phenomenal. Multiple outdoor seating areas--a small bar area and restaurant. Staff was onpoint with requests and extremely polite. My mattress was hard as a rock the first night. After complaining, they informed me of a knob on the front of the mattress used to adjust firmness. I was able to finally sleep the second night. Clean and a newer hotel nicely decorated and modern. We have stayed here before. Friendly staff and we were greeted several times. Jany in the restaurant rocks! We walked in right at 10 for breakfast and one girl told no they were closed but they still had all the food out, Jany said, "No, come on get what you want to eat." My kids were thrilled and we were happy too, no arguing about where we were going to eat. Thanks Jany! she didn't have to do that--above and beyond!

We were here to attend a conference. There are many hotels in this area ranging from Hilton/Sheraton to Ramada/Motel 8. The entire area, regardless of hotel class, is somewhat industrial. Unless you want close proximity to the college football stadium, Churchill Downs, or the airport, there's no reason to stay in this overall area.
