Most everything said is true. It is older but as well maintained as you could expect. Walls are thin, there are several banquet and meeting rooms very close to or on room halls. Lot of smokers outside, up wind from the main halls. The hotel is very large, with a Southern look from the past. The hotel basically had its own traffic light off a major road, Breckenridge Rd just outside the Watterson 264 loop. Great location. Our card keys did not work first time we used them, had to hike long ... Read more

I stayed here one night while visiting in Louisville for a friend's funeral. The room was clean and the desk clerk was courteous and presented himself well. The bed was comfortable and the non-smoking room had no tobacco odor. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. Overall, I'd certainly recommend it to anyone.

I like quaint and old fashion just as much as anyone but not just plain out of date and in much need of a revitalization. Our first night we we given a room that appeared to not have been vacuumed - with double (not queen) beds and a toilet that refilled its tank every 10 minutes. My husband finally had to turn the water off so we could sleep. The next day we asked for a different room and were given a room with a king - and a working toilet. The room was cleaner. Having said all that, the hote... Read more

This is a great place to stay, close to I-264, shopping about 2 miles, many restaurants but not in walking distance, about mile away. Beautiful large room where breakfast is served, quiet location and friendly staff. There is also a lounge in the lower floor which has a great band on Friday and Saturday nights and Karaoke some nights. Located at exit 18A off I-265.

We were in town to visit Kentucky Kingdom. This hotel is about five miles from Kentucky Kingdom and lots of restaurants. Very affordable. Clean rooms. The front desk even called to check on us after check in. Nice touch. Large indoor pool and outdoor. The outdoor pool was not open yet but we will be back to enjoy that. Nice continental breakfast with biscuits and gravy. Good value and great spot for my family getaway.

We came here on business and first impression was that the grounds outside were very pretty and clean. However once we entered the hotel itself it was very drab and old. When I received the room number I wandered down halls (which reminded me of the movie The Shining) and finally found it. When walking into the room it smelled of strong ladies perfume and not a good kind. It was very late so I decided to tough it out. The bed was comfortable but when I awoke the next morning I could barely breat... Read more

My family stayed two nights and I was very happy with the hotel. The indoor AND outdoor pools were both very nice and had lifeguards on duty. The pools were open until 10pm too! Very polite and helpful reception and staff. The hotel is older but well kept. The free continental breakfast was fresh and well stocked. My only 'complaint' would be the small (but comfortable) full size beds. Queens would be a welcome change. I would ABSOLUTELY stay here again.

I've stayed here twice because it has a free airport shuttle, and the price is right. The rooms are big, and the property is pretty quiet. The breakfast room is very comfortable, and the buffet is adequate. There is also a big indoor pool that is open during the summer and fall. It can be busy, though, as the hotel sells memberships. The staff is very friendly, but could use a little more training in customer service. For example, it's hard to get someone to answer the phone when you call the ho... Read more

Property is landscaped nicely. Hotel looks very nice from the road. Rooms are not bad, but not great either. There was a big candy wrapper that sat underneath our air conditioner unit in the room for the duration of our visit, in addition to some sort of food crumbs. I guess our maid, Bridget, never looked under there. Part of my bed was comfortable, but part of it had a spring loose that made a spronging noise every time you moved. Breakfast buffet was about as bad as one could imagine. ... Read more

We recently stayed for a vacation. The kids loved the pool, but the breakfast was minimal and the rooms were very outdated. It was close to much of what we wanted to do and easy access to the highway.

One night stay. Great location. Easy to get to and from the interstate. The staff was great and indoor pool was nice. The room and grounds were clean and comfortable. We felt very safe. The breakfast was ok but needed more selection . We would stay again.

This place barely rates two stars. It is old, dated, and not updated. The hallways are hot and stuffy. Size of room was fine, and mostly clean, but the carpet was old and needing to be replaced. One day, we came back to our room at 3:00 and it still hadn't been cleaned. After I called the front desk, two women showed up and did a cursory cleaning, just emptying the trash, and wiping down the bathroom. One asked, do you want the bed made? I said yes, and they quickly finished and left. Breakfast ... Read more

I feel that our stay was not worth the $80 (including taxes and fees). I think that the room was pricey for the quality. The bathroom was tiny with not much room to move. The bed was so uncomfortable we tossed and turned all night. The room had only two open outlets and they were in the most inconvenient places. The breakfast was poor even to hotel standards. The pool was the best part of our stay. You could swim inside or outside. Both pools were nice in size. The outside pool deck area is beau... Read more

Hotel is not that impressive, but the Jerry Green venue in the basement is a neat place to see a show. Big bar area, food service, tiny stage. We saw Euge Groove here and it was a great place. Too bad Euge was under the weather and not in top form, but it was a nice place to see his show.

The hotel room is clean and nice, as what we expected, breakfast was good, enough choices for both adults and kids. Yet, the Fluorescent Light didn't work, and the hotel has no spare for replace....... Coffee pot doesn't work either....... So, room service is not efficient, but other than that, the overall is good.

Front desk staff did not say welcome or thank you or volunteer anything about the hotel. She seemed annoyed that I was there. I asked if there was a restaurant and got a curt 'NO' and no suggestions for where to eat. The price was good though (about $80 for 2 double beds). Breakfast was very basic (no waffles or anything, just mini-pastries, cereal, oatmeal, biscuits & gravy). Great stay and affordable. Indoor/outdoor pool and very close to everything. (food gas shopping) We found the staff very helpful and they even printed off directions and attractions for us. Free wifi and internet. Beds are comfy and air conditioning quiet. People in the parking lot are just folks going into the nightclub. No fear. Rooms are clean and quiet once you're in. They were partying in the next room and we couldn't hear them. Domenic Rossi Canada

My wife and I were traveling to Cleavland,Ohio and this was our stop after driving for 10 hrs. so here goes the problems: Upon check in the man at the front desk seemed to be not happy that we got in late, our room was way down a hall way that had no elevator access and several sets of 4 stairs we had to drag the luggage cart down and back up in the morning. The hotel is dated but they were working on improvements while we were there, some interior remodeling and exterior painting, etc. The room was clean and cool with plenty of space. And the main reason we chose this hotel was the outdoor pool which was spectacular! There was a 9 foot deep end and they had lifeguards on staff which I have not seen for a long time. There is also an indoor pool but we spent our time out enjoying the sun. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired, especia... Read more

Wonderful staff, both front desk and cleaning staff. The rooms are comfortable, not fancy but very nice. There is some renovations going on while staying there but it did not detract at all from the stay. Pool and spa were great, many nice restaurants in the area and it was an easy location to find.

The night club is stellar, Jerry Greene was excellent and did a great job mingling with the guests during breaks. We stayed at the Breckinridge Inn for 3 nights, beginning August 8th. From our arrival, we could not have felt more welcome. The hotel itself is having some renovations done in the lobby, but that never seemed to bother anyone. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and VERY clean. I understand other people's negative reviews, so I will state some of the good things about this place: I was able to get a room (on for $74. The king room I booked was not available when I arrived, so they gave me a king suite as a free upgrade, which was clean, stylish and comfortable. The swimming pools, both indoor and outdoors, are nice and clean. Overnight in Louisville on a budget, we came across this place. Unique in it's appearance, it's got a lot of potential to be a chic hotel. It's just not quite there yet. For the price it's not bad. The halls are a bit of a maze, and a little stuffy (no air conditioning). The room was basically clean (some smear "wipe" marks on the TV and faucet) and an questionable spot on the bedskirt. The rooms had a terrible musty smell masked by a strong disinfectant. Pool is crowded with local "memberships". Halls are noisy with slamming doors and the walls are so thin you can hear the TV four rooms away. The bathroom was a musty closet with a broken door and a 20 year old shower head. The "remodeling" is really just a coat of paint and some carpet.
