Well lucky me 2 hotels in 1 trip that were bad. The Campbell house is a mess. I am a Hilton Honors Silver member and booked this thinking Hilton is under control, what a mistake. First the property is on the edge of a ghetto. Pimps and prostitutes are a few blocks away, nice. The hotel is really large and hardly anyone was there, Memorial Day weekend. The hotel is dark and smells of mold and these are the good things. The rooms are tiny all painted in a very dark gray, almost black includ... Read more

This hotel was great for a kid free night. Check in was easy and fast. The bed was a little on the short side. Nonetheless it was comfortable. The room is decorated nicely. The hallways are very quaint and you get the feel of some good southern tradition when walking the hallways. Overall I would stay here again.

The hotel had a comfortable, old feel to it. The staff was helpful, friendly, and polite. It was raining buckets when we arrived and we decided to stay at the hotel for dinner. We had nice food and enjoyed the friendly service from our wait staff. Initially we were not given the room configuration we had expected but they were very helpful when they changed our room. The first room assigned was not very comfortable, small and no chair aside from the desk chair. The second room had a comfortabl... Read more

This traveler has visited this venue several times, always for business (presenting continuing education seminars for health professionals.) Previous visits have been good, with the notable exception of the most recent before this one. There is no need to describe the situation for that visit previous to this one, as there has been significant improvements not only in the property (it was undergoing construction improvements last time) but also in the overall "philosophy" of working with custome... I stayed here with my girlfriend for the weekend. I am Hilton Honors Member so I used the online check in process where I was able to select my room and check in. Once I arrived at the hotel my total check in time was about 2 minutes. Over all the rooms were nicely decorated. The bed was a little on the short side. However, it was comfortable. There could of been some better communication regarding the on site Restaurants. When we checked in they said dinner would be at the Restaurant would be ... Read more

I couldn't ask for a friendlier, more helpful and pleasant staff! They were so kind. The lobby is quite lovely and looks just as pictured in their promotional pictures. Our room was quite spacious. The bathroom was large, but the fixtures were quite dated and rickety - it could use an upgrade. But the price was certainly affordable! Dinner at the hotel restaurant was lovely. It's so nice to be able to get back to the hotel after a long day and not have to go off-site for dinner.

I stayed 2 nights in conjunction with a seminar at the hotel. The service could not have been nicer. The exterior and lobby are beautiful. The workout room is well equipped. The hotel has a very large indoor pool which my daughter took of advantaged of. Our room was quite large with a nice sitting area. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom is small but ok. The bathtub was very slick. I slipped a couple of time but did not fall. The room had an odd smell and it is extremely dark - I mean the w... Read more

Campbell House is a charming but dated Hilton property near the University in Lexington. The rooms are large and comfortable. There is a bar that had a fairly good band on Friday night. We only had breakfast in the restaurant. Service was efficient and the food was good. The paint scheme is rather dark and the bathrooms are small. The public spaces are nice. You can sense the traditions.

This hotel has the potential to be nice. They're in the beginning stages of remodeling. Once inside our room it was nice. Nice furniture and nicely appointed. We found a tick in the bed of one of our rooms and soiled linen in the other. My room wasn't ready upon my arrival even though check in is 3. They asked that I wait 30 minutes however I opted not to wait and asked for a different room. As an Honors guest I wasn't greeted as such and there was no water in my room.

Great hotel. Only issue i had was going down to the self serve buffet the first morning for a 50 dollar plus expected tip on a mediocre buffet, large selection but have had better complimentary continental breakfasts elsewhere. Other than planning on eating out in the mornings the hotel staff was great, clean rooms, nice pool and bar area, and lovely front sitting area as you enter the hotel.

Husband had a convention at the hotel. I have to say, after reading some of the previous reviews, I was a little hesitant and skeptical. However, I was extremely pleased with this hotel. Only thing: room where the nightly get togethers were for the conference was extremely warm. When I was in college this wasn't the nicest place. Bravo to Hilton for making it a gem again. This was an unexpected trip during a holiday weekend. We had a very short stay here. Got in late and left early. It is old and it has a lot of charm. Our room was quiet and comfortable. Door stuck a bit. There wasn't any food or drink available for late night. The elevator was outdated. Exterior doors were not secure (locked). Vending machines were not stocked or were broken. Hallways seemed dirty. And very expensive for what you get (very different than what the sell online) Paper-thin walls tiny bathrooms dirty food not good Gunshots ringing out all night in the neighborhood pictures would imply this is some old horse farm, but in reality it is more like a run down nursing home in the middle of a huge parking lot BE WARNED!

This was a good choice for our stay in Lexington. Our teen daughter loved the pool. Its an indoor pool but has the feeling of an outdoor pool. The location was good. We had never been to Lexington before so did not know our way around. The hotel is right off a main road (not interstate, just a main road through town) so its easy to get to and from the sights, restaurants, and attractions. The outside of the hotel is so beautiful that we had to take photos in front of it.

Nice rustic atmosphere. Definitely a quaint place to stay. They upgraded my room to suite, which was nice and was a great room; however, I brought my family on business and this presented a problem. My husband, toddler and I stayed here for one night. The only real positive aspects were that the hotel is cool looking, near UK campus, and reasonably priced. This is a charming hotel decorate in an equestrian theme. Our room was very spacious as was the bathroom. Everything was very clean. Hallways are long and a bit dark the further you get from the lobby. Lovely front porch with plenty of seating. Restaurant was closed the night we checked in, bummer. Only suggestion is with a pedestal sink for the bathroom, you need some sort of shelf to place toiletries on or you balance things on the bathtub rim which is awkward.

This hotel has been remodeled. It is an old hotel and at some time they had people to help unload luggage. Only one elevator in the back of the building. If your room is in the front - you have to drag all of your luggage up the stairs. I stayed due to location and that they had music in the lounge.

Why book a suite when you get there and they are booked full? We brought our cat thinking we would have plenty of space in a suite. The price for this hotel should include a microwave and mini fridge, the motel down the street for half the price has them in every room. When we called down for one they said they would bring us one. It never came. When we called again they said they just ran out. Another day the toilet clogged. The bar what's well tended the restaurant had great service the food was very good. The pool was beautiful and although the hotel is older it had beautiful style and grace and you can tell it was well cared for. We visited the University of Kentucky and chose the hotel for quiet and ease of parking. The hotel is lovely and while old, still very well kept up. Our room was very comfortable and despite being close to the hospital, very quiet. Called the front desk and within 5 mins had switched my rooms out. Such a pleasant friendly staff. Rooms were decorated great and very clean! The whole place has an amazing decor and so comfortable. Avoid this place. An old property in need of renovation with a coat of paint slapped over non-prepped surfaces. Noisy AC kept me awake all night. At checkout we complained about the room and were told that someone from corporate would contact us. A week later no one has called. This is a $50/night hotel. Not a $200/night Hilton property. Perfect example of lipstick on a pig.

This hotel is very pretty and decorated nicely. Our room configuration was odd. We had a small sink in our room that did not have any place to put personal items. My toothbrush would not even fit. There were no place for a hand towel so you would need to go into the bathroom after washing your hands. The room was missing the attention to detail. The painting, trim, and other finishing touches were not well done. Bed was comfortable and we did have a nice stay.
