This hotel is in the process of being remodeled and once completed will become a much more expensive property. The room I had was not completely done but was still very vary nice. Once the updates are done the property is to become part of a large chain at a much higher room rate. In the meantime get a fine room, above average hot breakfast at a great rate. One note, due to road construction accessing hotel is tricky but I was able to find my way in without too much difficulty.

Large room with fridge and king bed. Quite and nice breakfast. But all floors were under renovation. There was road construction exiting the freeway. Then you had to travel several blocks out of the way to reach the hotel. We were told that we couldn't get our AAA or AARP discount because we booked and confirmed online.

Stayed Sunday overnight. Road construction on US400 makes access a little difficult but it's worth it when you get there. Reviews older than about 3 months would be out of date because they're renovating this property in preparation for it becoming a Best Western around the end of May beginning of June 2016. Check-in was smooth at the renovated front desk. Coffee available 7x24. Room was advertised as a "Double w two double beds". Beds were actually queen size. Room was perfectly clean af... Read more

Road construction makes getting there tricky. Remodeling has all areas of the hotel disrupted. Room was clean with new carpet but was not completely finished. Only area od either the inside or outside thst was complete was the lobby and breakfast area. The main reason for my just ok rating was there was no hair dryer in the bathroom. On their website they clearly list a hairdryer as an amenity in each room, so we didn't bring one. I asked twice and was told there were none available, so we ha... Read more

First we were sent by GPS to another hotel, which seemed odd f or the GPS. But, it was understandable when we got to the actual hotel which is out of the way (unless you know the area, then the location makes perfect sense). The hotel itself is undergoing new external construction and internal remodeling, which means bumpy entrance, smells from glues and carpets, two pieces of art in our room were off the walls and leaning against our bed (we just stuck them in a corner), and many tripping oppor... The place wasn't too bad even though there was remodeling. My biggest qualm was that we arrived late and they still hadn't received our reservation and when I asked about it the gentleman said there wasn't anything he could do so if I wanted a room I would have to pay for the night and figure it out with whoever I booked with. My other problem was that I was charged $2 for certs out of the vending machine. Other than that it ended up as just another hotel nothing stood out besides construction.

This place is under remod construction...I knew this when I booked...The room was great, quiet, and comfy. I'm not a breakfast person but was very impressed with the breakfast they provided. Eggs, bacon, sausage, gravy, oatmeal, cereals, yogurt, muffins, ya, it looked good...all cooked on premises. It was a little tricky getting to the parking lot through the road construction getting onto West Street from 54W...just take the first street right and come in the backway. There is no signage to the fact the motel is not Best Western Plus. So much construction and no signs to a route to get to the motel. Glad I always were slippers in a motel room, there was broken glass on the floor, so that tells me that no one vacuums very well. The motel staff was very pleasant and accommodating. I had indicted I needed a "disabled access" room, but I got 4th floor because of the renovations going on that I was unaware of when I booked the room.

Besides expecting pool to be in service in June and at booking promised a pool, it was shut down due to construction equipment unnecessarily laid out over pool area: we booked five days but are leaving three days earlier. Both mornings we ate breakfast and were congested by what seemed all employees eating breakfast at the same peak time for guests: 7-9 am. I felt like I was intruding on their fun time. Manager came in and sat with them drinking coffee and discussing remodel expenses. Besides fo... Read more

We booked our hotel while it was the Wichita West Airport Inn. It is now the Best Western Plus-West Kellogg. We were pleasantly surprised to find it under renovation. We got one of the new rooms. Nearly everything was replaced with modern and attractive furnishings. I am not sure if the bath tub was replaced, but it was nice enough to keep. Everything else was new. Kellogg Drive was closed, so it was difficult to find. A small temporary sign on the corner of Taft and Illinois St. would h... Read more

Read the reviews; the road construction and name change to the Best Western Plus makes this a difficult hotel to find. Write this direct phone number down as it is hard to find: 866-925-8709. This is not a paid advertisement, but the hotel manager said he couldn't even come close to the on-line price offered. He also said that those great prices won't last long. We needed to spend the night in Wichita for MTW's Nice Work If You Can Get It production. What a nice surprise this hotel was. It's now called Best Western Plus Wichita West??. Under renovation, the rooms are nice, clean and spacious with a generous breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful. Just a little difficult to get to since the street is closed and getting back onto Kellogg is challenging - just follow the detour signs.

Nothing online said that the hotel was under construction, hard to find a way in with the highway construction. Pool didn't work thought we were at the wrong place because hotel recently changed names/ companies. However rooms are quiet, can't even hear the noisy highway. They did a good job of accommodating us since Booking.com screwed up our reservation twice. Would recommend after all the construction is done

Breakfast had biscuits and gravy, pancakes, oatmeal (in the crock - no packets) every day. Eggs & sausage each day as well. Room was nice & clean. Great lobby area, very inviting and comfortable. The breakfast that is served was very good. It wasn't the typical continental breakfast. They offered two types of eggs, pancakes, oatmeal, bagels, muffins, several juices and so much more. My favorite part I have to say was the lighted bubbling wall. It was so relaxing and great to just sit and watch. I would definitely stay there again if I am every out that way. The only downfall is they don't offer laundry facilities.

This property was recently changed to a Best Western Plus and lucky for us most of the renovations are done. We were not effected in any way except for the road construction. Not hard to see the PLUS in this Best Western property. Nice hotel layout, great west Wichita location, but still has short & easy downtown access. Once road work is completed access should be easy. Nice outdoor pool area we didn't use. One of the nicest BW breakfast areas we have encountered, including three TV screens. Coffee available 24 hours. Larger exercise room than most comparable hotels. For plug-in vehicles owners, a charging station in the parking lot is almost ready.

Although construction around the Inn was very extensive and there was no signage directing us through the detours, we found the Inn well-appointed and welcoming. Our reservation had been set aside, confusing the clerk who checked us in and delaying the process. The room was fine, if slightly marred by chipped corners in the entryway, and quiet since it did not face the freeway.

The current construction detour is not their fault, and it takes a few minutes to figure out the back entrance (some signs would be appreciated) but once you do it's no problem to get to.
