There is nothing near this hotel. So you are stuck at their restaurant and bar. That being said, both are nice and the bar had a KC micro-brew. The room was nice. Ask for one away from the atrium (they have several). Room was clean. 4 cup coffee maker (unheard of at most hotels) a plus. Big room. Quiet. Nice business center. Rate was ok. Again, the only downside is that you can't walk to anything. (Property is located on the former state fair grounds.)

The hotel was very nice, the staff was friendly from arrival, to the wait staff in the grille and the desk staff during our stay. Everyone was very nice. The rooms are a little dated, but were comfortable and clean. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family and would be happy to stay there again.

This use to be our go to place to stay. They have gone down hill in regards to cleanliness. The perimeter of our room had a build up of dust nearly 4 inches out. I noticed it in the hallway leading to our room also. The stairway leading to the bar area was filthy. Same issues as well as food particles. The pool deck area wasn't cleaned for the entire 3 days we were there. People had left there trash and some food laying around. For the cost of the room you expect higher quality. I did call it... We were there for a dog event, with people from all over the country. Housekeeping staff went out of their way to be helpful, and they seemed to genuinely like our dogs. I was very satisfied with the cleanliness of the room, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. My only problem was lack of Wi-Fi. Apparently the router for my part of the building was not working, so I had virtually no internet access for three days. Hotel staff tried to fix it but were not successful. I was attending a large dog show and stayed at the host hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff was terrific. In the 25 years I have attended dog shows my dogs have never so much as urinated in a room. Unfortunately, my dog got out of his crate and dug a hole in the carpet. I immediately notified the management. They were truly kind as I was devastated. They charged a $250 fee for the damage which I thought to be exceedingly fair. It would have been nice if there were more elevators. Also, it ... Read more

Even though this hotel is attached to the Convention Center, it was a long walk. Fortunately, there were benches along the way for resting. Suggestion: it's much shorter to cut through the parking lot! We requested a handicapped room, but the side of the tub was so high, my roommate couldn't access it. There were trade-offs for a semi-accessible room ... there was no counter space in the bathroom and no fridge or microwave. However the toilet was handicapped height, and that was very important t... I had to stay there for my conference or I wouldn't have this time. All my previous stays were wonderful but I was very disappointed this time. My bed was terrible and I had to go buy a cooler because I did not have a refrigerator. I have always had one in my room before at this hotel.

This hotel is very well maintained and a very friendly staff. Nice big rooms for the business traveler with no issues for ALL of my electronics. Good food and drinks in the lounge area with MLB playoff games on the TVs. Trying to think of a reason to go back to Topeka so I can stay here again!

While the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff were exceptional, the hotel facility itself is average. If you are arriving late and staying for just one night, it is as good as any other hotel. However, if your stay is going to be extended, it should be noted there are no mini-fridges or microwaves in most of the guest rooms.

Good sized rooms, good location and friendly staff. Unfortunately we left a few clothing items in the closet when we left. We have left multiple voice mail requests and filled in their online system for missing clothes - absolutely no response from the hotel.

This hotel is a great place to stay for those attending the Mother Earth News Sustainable Living Fair due to it's location next to the Kansas Expocentre. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Overall it was a good experience. The rooms lacked a bit in being sound proof and the restaurant appeared to be understaffed.

IF you promise over the phone to let me in the room at 2:30, please do deliver on the promise. It was important for me to be in my room for a meeting online, couldn't get in and then when i did get in i couldn't connect to to tv because the last guest had disconnected something. It took two maintenance visits to get it resolved..

I love your facility!! Last year we had the conference rooms close to the rooms. This year was really bad, because the conf. rooms were a very long way away from our rooms. Several of us are disabled. Please consider a shuttle for us that cannot walk very well. Thank you for your consideration.

We enjoy the hotel even though it's older we like the feel. Staff is great, always friendly. Food is good nice bar area. This is our third visit and so far it's still a good value. I will say the restaurant is slow not the fault of the staff, more like under staffed. Nice to see the same faces each time we visit.

We had dinner at the restaurant and waited for what seemed a long period to be seated. We only saw a host and one waitress. Due to an event at the expo center and the hotel having no vacancy you would think they would staff appropriately. The staff was friendly but very busy.

Very nice hotel. We had no issues, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The room air handling worked very well and was quiet. We only ate at the Falling Waters Grille once.on Tuesday evening and found the food good, but the service slow.

Facility and staff were very accommodating with the dogs. The staff at the front desk was sometimes limited to one person. Staff in the lounge was not friendly. Response from maintenance and help with getting things to meeting area was great....Wayne rocks.

The extra charge for using a debit card was a bummer, even though it was returned promptly after I checked out. The lack of a microwave and refrigerator was alittle inconvenience but we worked through it. But all in all the service and staff were great.

Rooms were spacious and lots of wall space for 3 dog crates. Staff was friendly and happy to service the room with dogs in their crates. All staff members welcomed the 100+ Boxers that were in the hotel & convention center for the 4 day show.

A positive experience. The room was comfortable with some amenities. Being on the 4th floor I was away from the noise of incoming guests to a major Rodeo being held in the adjacent Kansas Expocentre. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant to work with. This was an annual training event being held by the Grand Lodge of Kansas and the meals provided were tasty if a little sparse. I'd recommend staying if you are traveling through the Kansas area and Topeka in particular. I plan on staying ... Read more

When you read this review, please understand that my visit, according to the other folks in my group I was there with, may be the exception, not the norm. I only heard a couple of people report any sort of issue so remember that when you read this. I arrived and was booked into room 510. The room is a 2 double-bed room with a regular sized bathroom. Yes, the hotel rooms need some updating as the furniture was showing signs of wear and the carpet was lumpy and needed a good send off to the gr... Read more
