I spend a lot of time in hotels, but I spent 3 nights at this hotel while working in Olathe. The employees in this hotel should provide customer service training to everyone in the Marriott hotels. Everyone makes the guests here feel welcome and at home. The most memorable person is Abby. My coworkers and I would spend a few minutes talking about the wonderful and specifically how much we missed seeing Abby. It's hard to describe, but if you want to feel good while working away from home, c... Read more

I travel to Olathe twice per month and thought to give Residence Inn Olathe a second chance as the Fairfield was sold out; the second stay was worse than the first! I travel frequently and this was, by far, my worst Marriott experience. Mobile check-in was not ready, the check-in process took ten minutes, the agent did not appear to be properly trained and the manager seemed just as ill-trained. There was a used band-aid in my bed, the halls were dirty and breakfast was mediocre at best. I broug... Read more

I stayed twice in February and March/April for 8 and 9 nights. Good spacious suites will bedroom, livingroom incl. kitchen and bathroom and a toilet. Breakfast simple but fresh and ok. very serviceminded employees. Nice pool and whirlpool that I used many times.

I found this Residence Inn to be pretty much like many Residence Inns across the country. What bumps my review to Very Good from Average is the staff. They were pleasant and helpful (perhaps an earlier review that mentions the staff made a difference?). This hotel is also within a short walk from several restaurants and a theater. It's also, unfortunately, about one hundred feet from I-35 -- so can be a little noisy from time to time. For business travelers, not a bad place to base your trip. Fo... Read more

Stayed at the Residence Inn and was pleased with the accommodations and staff. Located near variety of restaurants and shopping. Room: The room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable, slept well each night. Could hear the person above me, but was resolved quickly. Staff: The staff was very nice and responsive. They quickly responded to my request for towels and soap. Food: Good variety for morning and evening manager's reception. Would definitely stay at this hotel again and... Read more

The hotel staff were great! They were friendly and very helpful. We got in late on Thursday night and after the boys were asleep we discovered our air conditioning wasn't working right. Ken from the front desk came down to look at it and he didn't know what the problem was but he offered to give us another room. We declined as the boys (2 yrs old and 5 yrs old who have special needs) were asleep and we didn't want to wake them. When we awoke on Friday morning we found we had another glitch we ha... Read more

We were attending a grandson's baseball tournament and at the last minute, our field was moved from North KC to Olathe. Derek was able to get us a suite the day before we needed it and after staying 4 days, we decided to stay a 5th night and attend a Royals game. He accommodated our request and fixed our bill when there was a glitch in the reservation, which was mostly our fault for booking 2 rooms. This place was very clean, close to lots of restaurants and shopping and within walking distan... Read more

We arrived shortly after dinner and were greeted by very friendly staff. The hotel is fairly new and in a very nice area. Our King 1 Bedroom suite was clean and very spacious. For most people you could easily make this an extended stay location for a business traveler. The king bed was extremely firm. That was the only thing that prevented us from giving it a perfect 5. For those who like very firm beds, you will be in heaven. As a note, I would not recommend the fold out couch for adults. As ... Read more

Good location, surrounded by shopping and restaurants. An exceptional staff that looked in on me while I was ill in the hotel. . I've stayed at a lot of Marriott, and nothing stood out. From the moment I checked in with a tissue, two of the staff members (I'm very sorry not to remember their names) called and looked after me.

We stayed At the Residence Inn April 2, 2016. Suite was clean and in good condition. Halls are dark grey wallpaper and carpet is dark grey. The dark color makes the halls look very dingy and looks like a prison. Not very cheerful and inviting. The lady at the front desk was so helpful and pleasant, I think her name was Amy. Maintenance man was very obliging and a very friendly polite gentleman. Can't remember his name but I think he said he was from Louisiana. The water pressure was ter... Read more

Visited this residence inn again and overall the hotel is still very nice and accommodating. The 24 hour exercise room is a very nice feature along with clean, comfortable rooms and great breakfast. The issue is I am a gold Marriott member, followed the early checkin process and ended up with a room next to the elevator. It seems that this room should be a last room filled, not a first room filled situation. `

We were lucky enough to get a room on short notice after a miserable stay elsewhere in the area. We were so happy with it that we will never look elsewhere again in Olathe. The lobby, rooms, breakfast area were spotless. The air conditioning is NOT wall mounted which makes for a better nights sleep. The water pressure was better than 99% of the hotels.

Stayed there last night. Clean-great staff-wonderful location. Went out of my way to stay there. Was not disappointed. Same as the last three years. I am in a Residence Inn in Minneapolis tonight and will suggest they go to Olathe to see how a good hotel is run. Best Residence Inn in the Midwest.

I had to vacate my home do to insurance issues. I stayed for a month and a half. The staff is wonderful, expecially Derek, Abby, Naomi, and Phillip. They kep the hotel running like a machine. The only suggestion I have for the hotel is to reconsider the laundry room. More dryers than washers doesn't make sense. The pool, grill breakfast and special nights are amazing

Admittedly I prefer Residence Inn's for their predictability, a nice room, full kitchen, typically modern with breakfast & coffee. What this particular Residence Inn did not have was a manager's reception or Happy Hour, a nice touch which keeps customers coming back. There's nothing much to do in Olathe, fortunately this property is located near major chains such as Bass World, Target, Home Depot, Pet Land & one of the areas best BBQ joints, Joe's Kansas City BBQ where a slab of baby backs will... We checked in on Saturday July 16 room 207...when we opened the refridgerator there was a used 1/2 gallon of milk. When we opened the freezer there was a bag of icepops and a half eaten bowl of ice cream. Disgusting!!! Later we opened the couch bed for our daughter and upon finding the wrapped up sheet set in the closet the sheet (only 1, no fitted sheet) it was wrapped in a ball from the last customer who used it. Quality controls are severly lacking here..

Night 1 my kid got sick and threw up on a small area of carpet. I asked to have it cleaned 2 times before a man came in with febreze and a lady came in with deodorizer. They were worried about the smell not the body fluid on carpet. The pool and entry way are very slippery. Staff did an ok job with entry but my son walked into the pool area and went straight back on his head. There response was too many kids in pool area, but only 1 time after my son fell did anyone come into wipe the floors. Ev... Read more

We recently stayed at Olathe KS Residence INN on September 2, 2016. We had a noisy room (217) where the wall against the bed was vibrating and causing the bed to shake. We had travelled over 500 miles by car and needed a good nights rest to continue another 500 miles on Saturday. It sounded like a diesel truck idling all of time. We had unpacked clothing and refrigerator goods and were trying to sleep and finally called the front desk at 9:30. Judith answered and went to find out what was making... Read more

Gaila Ross is in the sales dept at this location and I'm here to tell you....there truly couldn't be an employee more conscientious of clients. My daughter is getting married and Gaila took care of every little detail for our stay. She phoned and emailed both my daughter and me for all details relating to wedding guests. Gaila was sick a couple of days and she was concerned some guests would be phoning on those days so she continued to communicate with us so nothing got messed up, all while s... Read more

I have stayed at quite a few and this is one of the better ones. Really nice carpet, clean rooms, ok breakfast, and great front desk staff. Definitely would stay here again. Bonus, you can walk to Schlotzsky's for lunch or dinner sandwich.
