Nothing beyond the expected HIE accommodations and amenities except breakfast. The staff had breakfast on-time and were quite friendly. Overall, the staff was fine. Like many HIE properties, this one hit the minimum expectations but lacked the WOW factor that makes travelers want to return. Ultimately, this can hurt a property as travelers find these WOW factors at competitively priced alternative locations.

I'm not used to finding Tesla recharging stations at hotels, and especially not expecting any in Goodland, Kansas, but lo and behold. If only they had bothered to shovel the snow and ice from their parking lot so one wouldn't have to slip and slide to the entrance, and that from a storm that had occurred a week ago. And the shower head was terrible, but maybe it didn't matter since it took forever for the water to warm up to luke warm. On the flip side, the room was clean (although we found t... Read more

I was pleased with the friendliness and efficiency of booking and checking in to this Holiday Inn Express. This was the first time I had stayed at the HIE in Goodland, KS. It was clean and everything you'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express. I'll book this hotel again if I'm staying in Goodland.

Our room was clean and fresh smelling. It seemed a bit larger than others we have been in and we enjoy space as our daughter is in a wheel chair. The grounds had a great area for walking dogs - another aspect we appreciated. Another feature we didn't need be certainly noted - Tesla recharging stations!

We've been on the road for 15 days traveling to Colorado and are on our return east to home. We have stayed in HI all the way and each one was very good. This facility is at the top of the list, though. The pool, hot tub and fitness room were exceptional. The breakfast this morning was delicious! Staff have all been friendly and welcoming. We even got back in the hot tub this morning before packing up to leave. The pool opens at 8:00 and the lady at the desk let us in a bit early and got ... Read more

We will stay at this hotel again. Very nice and friendly staff, clean hotel, good breakfast, hot coffee. There is also an indoor swimming pool if anyone travels with kiddos. Breakfast doesn't start until 0630 so if you are an early riser you might have to either wait a bit or skip breakfast, the coffee was out at 0500 though.

We stayed at HIE on our way to Texas. We arrived pretty late at night. The front desk clerk seemed very annoyed that so many people were coming in so late and all at the same time. We were in room 320, the room seemed clean, but, we had all kinds of live black gnats in the tub and a pile of dead ones on one of the beds. The breakfast was typical, but was filling. HIE has express check out, so, we just left our keys in the room and told the front desk we were leaving when we passed through the lo... Read more

Stayed here for a quick overnight. It was clean, quiet, staff was very nice. Great breakfast the next morning. Service at breakfast was great too. There was a lady making sure everything was clean and full. Would stay again and would recommend.

We stayed here a while back as it was the halfway point in our journey home. It was clean and quiet. Decent (not outstanding) breakfast and a courteous staff. The room and beds were very comfy. Added bonus in that just a few minutes away there is a unique roadside attraction. A Giant Van Gogh painting of sunflowers. Give it a look before you leave town.

We didn't actually stay here, but ate next door and stopped by to see if they could recommend one of their Denver locations because that's where we were going to stop for the night. The 2 desk agents looked up their properties, as well as other hotels and saw that every hotel in Denver and even an hour out was all booked up. This hotel was even booked up. They managed to find 2 rooms for us in Vail, called that hotel to book the rooms (passing the phone to me to secure it with the credit card... Read more

Reserved a king suite & the first one smelled like someone had urinated on the floor. Was given another room & no smell. The furniture & fixtures in both rooms were dated but clean & adequate for one night. They do allow pets - a bonus! Food & gas close by.

This is a good hotel for an overnight stay en route to destination. The room is nice, comfortable, and spacious. However, it is overpriced for the area--most probably to get the most out of people en route to/from a western destination from points in the Midwest or east.

My husband and I were on our first trip west from SC. We had planned to camp at the KOA, but the state was under a severe weather watch that day and temps were falling. We decided a hotel was the best option and at the very next exit we found this hotel. It was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay there. We ate at the Steak and Shake next door. There had been a thunderstorm with hail and we were very glad we stopped here. A wonderful place to stay at the end of a long day of ... Read more

Stayed in this hotel on the way to Denver and didn't feel like making the trip in one straight drive. The good: comfortable beds, great access, easy check-in. The bad: terrible, quirky internet, pathetic shower head and flimsy construction. It took me an extra hour to go to sleep while some heavy footed lunk paced across the floor in the room above us. When the people arrived in the adjoining room, it sounded like they were opening our door. The tv service is analog and fairly poor qu... Read more

Room was good, not excellent. Staff was friendly and efficient. Parking was very good and safe feeling. A little bit expensive, but there are not many options in western Kansas. Steak and Shake just across the parking lot and a convenience store with gas across the street. When heading west, I prefer staying in Salina KS, but this place is much closer to Denver. Salina has many more restaurant, shopping options and cheaper gasoline.

Great front desk staff. Very helpful in find a place for dinner. Decent HIE breakfast. Comfortable beds. My only complaint was due to the fact I use a CPAP machine when I sleep and there was no place to plug it in. Most hotels that I stay in now have lamps on the nightstand that have outlets in the base. What I ended up doing was getting the tray in our room that either the ice bucket was sitting on or the coffee pot and put it on the floor so I would have a solid base for my machine. ... Read more

Hotel looked very new from the outside. The first older women we encountered during check-in was very rude and "standoffish". But another agent quickly took over, and got us all checked in. After making our way to the 3rd floor, and ALL the way down the hallway, we found that our room was not clean. This was around 8:00 PM, after a full day of driving with our two young children. We had also requested that a crib be put in the room, which it was not. We went back to inform the front desk staff, ... Read more

We were traveling on I70 ended up in a huge storm with hail and big rain. We got off highway and found this Holiday Inn right off of the interstate. It worked well for us. The room was very large and clean. It was a quiet room on first floor. Ample towels in bathroom. They had a Very good serve your self breakfast . It was a welcome place to get off the highway. I would stay agin if in that area. They allowed pets I noticed . That made some other. Customers to be happy we do not have a dog

Nice, clean Holiday Inn Express property in Goodland, Kansas. Clean room, bedding, bathroom, all very nice. Staff very helpful. Love those cinnamon buns and coffee in the morning. Didn't try the other breakfast items except for the bacon, because, you know, everybody loves bacon and no one refuses bacon if it's available, especially as much as you want to eat.

The building looks to be brand new. The amenities are consistent with other holiday Inn hotels I've been at. The staff is nice. I would stay here again if I stopped in Goodland. Not much to do here and the food choices are limited. You have a few fast food choices and that is about it.
