We have stayed at this location multiple times only because the customer service is great, rooms are clean. They have an eating area also. Food is wonderful. The chef Paul is amazing. He should open his own restaurant. The waitresses provide first class service.

Our rooms were great, the lobby was beautiful. However, I believe for $150 a night stay, guest should be offered a complimentary breakfast. This hotel charged $7 and some change for a continental breakfast, and 11.99 for a made to order. This is ridiculous! I will not be back. I paid for the breakfast the 1st day, but the 2nd day I went to IHOP...I didn't want to give them anymore of my coins...

Stayed here for a wedding. The front desk staff not very friendly. The walls are so thin that you can hear the people in the next room like they are standing next to your bed. When you walk, the lamps shake. The breakfast is the usual Hampton fare (with an made to order addition) but was $12 per person so no thanks. The rooms are kind of small, but they were clean and the shower had good pressure. Overall pretty disappointing for a Hilton at this price point.

We don't stay here too often, but every time we come here, including this visit, we are greeted like long lost friends. Every employee we interact with is friendly and courteous. This Hilton Garden is attached to a casino and a Houlihan's. The rooms are clean and the location is fine. We love this HGI!

Expect to pay a premium if you are going to stay here on the weekend, but overall this is a very nice and well maintained property. The good: free shuttle to and from airport if you fly in; rooms are clean and well maintained; the bed was comfy (memory foam?); hotel is attached via well-lit and nicely-decorated walkway to a 24-hour casino; indoor pool, multiple dining options within walking distance, great place for getting out and getting some exercise with a park and the river nearby. We stayed here with our 1 year old for 5 days. The hotel was clean and the staff are extremely friendly. We had a few issues with noise from the room beside us which when we complained was immediately stopped by the staff. Also the pool was taken over by about 20 people staying here who were drinking beer. This is a 18-25 club and is in no way acceptable in my eyes. We complained and the staff again were lovely and apologised. There is a beautiful trail you can walk down to the river. Overall it... Read more

Overall, our stay was great. They did have free coffee in the room. The room staff was great and did a wonder job. They need to update their forms tho - even if using OLD stock, they could still jot a note on what has changed since their last printing (i.e. form they gave us w/key cards said they used "Quick Check-Out" - that they would slip receipt under door by 6 am and you can leave key cards in room -- THEY NO LONGER DO THIS.) The hotel is high quality on all levels. The staff was friendly. Everything was clean and dandy and in full working condition. Internet was good and fast enough for work. I'm sure it's the best hotel in Dubuque Iowa. It was, however, pricey. 200+ dollars per night is Boston or SF rate, not Dubuque Iowa. So I highly recommend it if you can get a better rate than I did.

Stay was one night - hotel is attached to casino/dogtrack and to a Houlihan's Restaurant/Bar. Excellent choice if weather is bad. You can get to food and entertainment and never have to go outside. As a Hilton Honors member, each member of your party gets a free bottle of water at check in. Did not try either breakfast option as our party was heading to an early tee time. But the buffet looked nice.

Very fresh, clean, nice hotel. Location is great, not too far from attractions. Staff at the front desk could have been more friendly. I seemed to be bothering them when I checked in, or went back the following morning to see if the breakfast was free. I wasn't sure because I usually stay at Hampton Inns. I booked last minute so that's probably why it was somewhat expensive but considering what all I got the rate was high in my opinion. My room was clean, comfy beds. Very nice stay overall.

The room stunk, the carpet was sticky and there is mold in the shower. The place was full so kind of stuck here. They no longer have coffee through out the day. There is a sign telling you to just use your kuerig in your room. No biggie. But what they don't tell you is that they then charge you $2.00 a kcup if you would like any for the next morning! It's more expensive and does not provide a fee breakfast like the Hampton does. Although the same breakfast fair is available but at a $12 price tag. Should be branded as a Hampton Inn not Garden Inn. An average hotel but certainly one of the nicest if not the nicest in Dubuque. Bar staff was distracted at best, dismissive at worst. Nobody went out of there way for anything but was willing to help when asked.

This is a great hotel to stay at. The property is very nice and sits next to the Mississippi River. There is a very nice park behind the hotel that you can fish at. I stay often for a few days at a time and bring my fishing poles me for my free time. The hotel is very clean and the staff is always friendly. The hotel room wasn't dirty, but it was pretty run down. We kept our shoes on because the carpets were sticky and very old. This hotel is an excellent option for a guys golf/poker trip. Being attached to a casino and a great casual restaurant make it very attractive to those who want to have a fun time without worrying about who will be the designated driver. We made a last minute decision to stay in Dubuque and we like HGI's. It was very nice, though older. It's attached to the casino, which is why most of the guests are there. We don't gamble so didn't care about that. Usually they have an in-house restaurant, which we like but this one had an attached Houlihan's Restaurant, which was great. On line reservation at their website offered two dinners and $10 match play at the casino next door, this being the reason we chose to stay here.
