Stayed two nights while attending sporting events at Notre Dame. It is an easy drive to campus and is surrounded by many restaurants (mainly fast food). The facility is well-kept, rooms are comfortable, and the staff is friendly and tuned in to your needs. The breakfasts were desirable and well stocked. Hors d'oeuvres (shrimp cocktail) were served one evening, which is a first for me at a Hampton. The only negative is the ugly view (overgrown weeds in old slab and parking lot) on the hotel's... This is a quality Hampton. My check-in took a while as there was another couple in front of me that were making a reservation for that evening. I had to wait probably 5 minutes or so. I wasn't in a big hurry so it wasn't that big a deal. My Diamond status was not recognized and I was not given a free water. I really don't care that much and my rating is not a result of that at all but it is a customer service touch I have come to expect. If you are there for anything related to Notre Dame,... Read more

My boyfriend and I were traveling back from his sisters house for graduations. Tired and worn out from driving. We made the trip from Buffalo NY to Dallas center Iowa in one day. The trip back seemed longer and rougher. We called 20 mins before we got there and was told come on they had plenty of room. Everyone there went above and beyond to make sure he had what we needed. Even at 10 o'clock at night Brandon helped us get into the pool area despite the problem with the key card reader. Teleni... Read more

When my daughter and I arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by very eager and helpful employees of the hotel. Each of us was presented with a "goodie" bag, which contained, water, a bag of chips and candy. This was a pleasant, yet unexpected surprise.

Brandon sent important documents I'd left behind by FedEx overnight after calling me as soon as they were found. I am immensely grateful both to the housekeeping staff who took it to him as soon and to his initiative, calm helpfulness and willingness to make sure that I got them. It made a huge difference to me and, once I learned what had happened, relieved my anxiety. The documents arrived home before I did.

Stayed here for one night during Spring Break in early April for a campus visit to the great Notre Dame! Found the room to be perfect to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. Very quiet hotel with extremely comfortable beds. One of the boys loved the comfy pillows so much that he threatened to swipe one (he was kidding, actually...). Would highly recommend this property when in the South Bend area. Very reasonably priced for how close it is to the ND campus (about 5 minutes max).

In addition we enjoyed friendly chats with several of them. Basically friendly people who enjoy working there. The room itself was top notch. Great breakfast bar assortment in the morning. Warm cookies and cold ice tea in the afternoon. Highly recommended.

I hate to complain but for $149+ a night, we felt that the room would at least be above average. It was small and not clean. To make things worse, there were dead bugs on both sides at the head of the beds and behind the table in between.. It was late and we had driven all day so we stayed, but didn't sleep well. Free breakfast was terrible.

The girl at the front desk was not helpful but soon a manager spoke to us and we did not have to wait long after that. I figured for ~$200 I could expect a certain level of class. But the entire evening a group of drinking and smoking people were loitering right in front of the main entrance and it was very uncomfortable having to walk past them each time I went out. Secondly, and more importantly, a group of men decided to set off large fireworks a mere 20 feet from our window. I booked the hotel room only two days in advance of my stay, but as Hhonors member I was able to get room for less than $110 (including taxes). I thought that was a fair price considering what I have experienced at Hampton Inn's in the past quiet, clean, up-to-date, pleasant staff, well-stocked breakfast, stable WiFi, and small but adequate (for my needs) fitness room.

The lobby is very welcoming and clean which is always the first sign of a hotel. The staff is professional and will address any concerns that a guest may have during their stay. Clean, comfortable, our room was quiet and all staff was very respectful. The pool was very chlorinated, but the hotel was also very busy and that may have had something to do with that. Breakfast was good with a decent variety for all tastes. As usual, the beds were clean, fresh and comfortable. I would recommend that if you have a choice of rooms, choose the ODD side of the hotel. EVEN rooms look out over a 24hr fast food drive thru. This is my only qualm.

6 of us, 3 adults, 3 kids spent a night at the Hampton Inn & Suites. These are my favorites in the Hilton chain for comfort, and value. Was a bit of a wait to check in but the front desk manager was apologetic and very accommodating. Room was spacious and we all had a comfortable night's sleep. While this Hampton looks somewhat new from its site photos, it really is NOT one of the updated hotels that we usually frequent. Sadly, it's in need of an update! From start to finish, this was an enjoyable stay. 10/27-10/30 Phil at the front desk was very welcoming! The rooms were clean and nicely appointed. The size of the room was sufficient also. Maid service was good and timely. Breakfast buffet was a decent selection and open long enough to stagger guest through without seeming overcrowded. Complimentary coffee and cupcakes was a nice added surprise too. Location was really good in relationship to Notre Dame (we were there for football game)... Read more

Quiet hotel, even with hockey travel teams on site. Very friendly staff. Quick to provide needed items, like extra towels and blankets. Great variety of breakfast items. Only's really inconvenient to not have a small refrigerator in the room, though, especially when traveling with a family. This should be considered for the future.

Some of the staff were very helpful and considerate, but one bad apple spoils the bunch. Over the weekend there were ball teams that came in and the room adjacent to me were very disruptive until 12am. I called the front desk and requested they contact the coach or room to settle them. The lady at the front desk made excuses about 100 ball teams coming that should be respective. I again informed her of the disturbances in which with an attitude she said she would look into it. Will not st... Read more

I needed a hotel with easy access to Amtrak and somewhere that I felt safe overnight by myself. This hotel was great. It felt secure, it was clean, quiet, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again

Three of us stayed here for a Notre Dame football weekend without much of a problem. We did have 'noisy neighbors' one night, but I did not complain to the front desk. After all, it was a college football weekend, and lots of folks piled in, having pizza and beer in the lobby until at least 1:15am Saturday morning. Though I was not there to cheer on ND we were treated with solid midwest hospitality and good eats on Saturday morning at breakfast. You will not find many locations at all located cl... Read more

After a long day of traveling, our family of 5 was glad to be greeted kindly from the start. The service at this hotel was excellent. Luke at the front desk was helpful in answering questions. We especially enjoyed the breakfast area. Plenty of seating that morning and the food was fresh and frequently restocked. Our family also enjoyed the pool.. small, but clean and well maintained. Beds were very comfortable. We'd stay here again if our travels took us in this direction.

Great value for the my Thanksgiving experience. First time staying at this property and I was pleasantly surprised. Low prices and high quality equals high value for travel accommodations. Not to mention free breakfast!

Stayed at this hotel on our way to Ohio. Staff at the front desk were polite and efficient. The hotel room and pool were good. Free breakfast was good. Would stay here again if we are passing through. I thought the self-serve washers and dryers were a nice touch if needed.

This is a great place to stay for the price. The only problem we encountered were other rude guests slamming doors at 7 a.m., but that is not the fault of the hotel. The staff was great and very attentive.
