So many nice people, nice accomodations, super food and super courteous. The room had everything one could want and so perky and clean. All services were wonderful and the room service was fast and the food was warm. There was plenty of concerts and exploring just a mile way.

Very conveniently located near several event venues, downtown activities. Staff was pleasant, room was clean. We had an awesome view from a corner room on the 8th floor. For the price, I would've expected a bit more in the room, but overall a good experience.

We were very satisfied with our stay. The staff was friendly. This hotel offered us free cookies and the room had FREE water bottles. Unlike many hotels this took out to me. The only downfall is the windows to the rooms are not tinted and they look out to the lobby... so anyone can look inside unless you have your curtains pulled. Besides that very clean and a great stay. Highly recommend.

Quiet with good location and comfortable bed. Have stayed here many times and will return soon. Helps to have Hilton Honors for some percs. Similar to other DoubleTree facilities. Downtown South Bend is getting new facilities and restaurants that are very good.

We had a very nice stay at the DoubleTree. The rooms are comfortable (especially the beds!) and the staff is very nice and endearing. I enjoyed the restaurant where the staff made every visit special. The location is great - literally less than 3 miles to the Notre Dame campus. We really enjoyed our stay.

The DoubleTree is a good choice for a moderately priced hotel in downtown South Bend, IN. Its location allows for short walks to some good restaurants, as well as the river walks along the St. Joseph river. Parking is available under the hotel.

I was surprised that for the price of the rooms, in relation to the price of hotel rooms just a few miles away, that the hotel wasn't totally top notch. It was mostly little imperfections that made me feel this way. The walls were scuffed like the hotel lacked in deep-cleaning overall. The double bed seemed somehow very small and cramped. The pool area had an unattractive, low drop-down ceiling that made it impossible for the chlorine funk to dissipate; it also hindered the view of the beautiful... Read more

Wow, was able to choose my room. Beautiful view of river. Quiet, clean, comfortable. Starbucks downstairs a plus. I screwed up and forgot to book 5 nights to get 5th night free thru hhonors but hhonors customer service and Mary at Doubletree fixed that for me even though I had already checked in. I bet that was tricky but they were able to fix my mistake. best customer service ever. Room was excellent.

I stayed at the hotel for an annual convention and the rooms were really clean, and all the workers I encountered were very nice. We had meals included in our convention and those meals were very good. I did think the cost was on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. It is surrounded by great places to eat if you want to go out. It is also close to the ND campus. I enjoyed my stay.

For a road trip stop, this seemed like a good pick. It's right downtown and has access to nice restaurants. But breakfast was actually painful. Poor service in an almost empty room with more staff than customers is unacceptable. The real problem is that the servers really don't want to be there and do not smile. Since this was our last impression, it's a lasting one. Front desk staff was friendly.

This Hilton made for a delightful stay. Everything was done with the comfort and needs of the guest in mind. We found the parking quite easy and convenient for a hotel in a busy part of town. The Internet was easy to connect to, and even with the multiple levels for lobby, restaurants, etc. it was easy to find our way around. The staff was also very friendly, helpful and professional. We would definitely consider staying here if we should be in this area again.

I had business in a near by town and decided to stay at the DoubleTree because of a good experience I had at another DoubleTree property a few weeks prior and this one did not disappoint. This is an adequate hotel with regard to location. It is located close to everything we needed to do in South Bend. River view rooms do have a pleasant view. Last time I checked it is now 2016. A hotel, particularly one that appears to cater to a business clientele, should offer Internet access that is at least reliable if not at rocket fast speeds. This hotel has neither, it is unstable, a pain in the butt to attempt to access and on the rare occasion it actually works, painfully slow. I will... Read more

Not what I expected from a DoubleTree. The common spaces were nice enough, I suppose. The rooms, on the other hand, were in desperate need of an update. They were a little worn, tattered and dated. Ask for a room with a river view, as staying in a room on the atrium-side can be annoyingly loud if there is a a large group at the atrium bar. The hotel is in a very center of South Bend. During my stay in October it was quite a bit of road repair in the surrounding area, so traffic was not the best. The hotel has adequate gym and fast Internet. OK breakfast buffet. The car parking is in a garage next door and the hotel charges some amount for parking per night, I forgot how much exactly, but maybe be about 12 USD. Nice clean rooms. Totally OK.

We stayed in this beautiful hotel for our friend's wedding and we really love it. The room is very clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. We also have a really nice view from our room the we really love. For sure we will stay in this hotel again soon.

We were here recently for a wedding. The hotel is nice. The rooms are clean, but small. The staff is friendly. The one oddity is that they have a parking garage with a 5'8" clearance. I'm not sure how that works. I wouldn't even fit in there, much less my vehicle. There is a surface lot around the back of the hotel but spots are limited. Overall, it's a nice place to stay.

Though N St, Joseph St was under construction, the parking lot in the back was accessible and provided easy entry into the lobby. Friendly staff. Had a room on the executive floor: nothing special except for a decent included breakfast. Quiet. Comfortable beds. Light switch didn't turn anything on: annoying and should have been fixed by the house staff.

If yo are visiting South Bend/Notre Dame, the DoubleTree is the best hotel. Located across the street from a wonderful chocolate store, Starbucks and nice bar/restaurant in the building. The glass exterior keeps the hotel main lounge area light and cheery.

Beds very comfortable. Sofa bed didn't have sheet set, or pillow had to call to get them. Breakfast is generic. Very quite. Parked on the street right outside the side door. Cookie yummy. Staff didn't make us feel like valued customers just robot actions.

We stayed here while attending an ND football game and visiting our son who is a student. Great location, wonderful staff. Our third floor room was OK, nothing special, but it was clean. It was nice to have access to the concierge lounge. The fitness center was equipped with a great set of weight machines, three ellipticals, a couple of bikes, and 3 or 4 treadmills. The lobby was welcoming and modern. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it was always busy. A Starbucks is on site in the spacio... Read more

Over priced and very noisy, noise coming from restaurant. I took my son to check out the Notre Dame campus and attended the game. I paid 535.00 for a one night stay!! Very overpriced for the location!!

I realize the football weekend mark up. But for $550 per night the rooms should at least be nice and not smell. On top of that they nickel and dime you for parking. The lobby and restaurants we're OK though.

Was told hotel was previously a Marriott. Very Industrial, angular, soaring metal Atrium. Starbucks in Atrium, along with a bank. Atrium open to street traffic. Security guard told me he'd already escorted 4 people out that day. They weren't guests, & were smoking, & street people. Didn't make us feel safe. The pool temp was kinda cool, but the hot tub was great. The pool edge tiles were missing, in some places. There were NO directional signs for the Dining area! It was literally a ma... Read more

I stay here on a regular basis. Very nice Doubletree, and updated nicely. But, the real treat is the people. From the van driver, to the front desk, to the Hilton Honors concierge group, it's the people that really puts this property over the top. And it doesn't matter what time of day. Gabbie, for instance, works nights and when I come down at all hours, there she is with a smile on her face! And always willing to help, anyone. She treats us all like we are Honors Diamond (I think that is ... Read more
