We were a little skeptical about staying here after reading mixed reviews. We were pleasantly surprised at what we found upon our arrival. The front desk clerk was very friendly and even suggested some local restaurants to try. Our room was very spacious and clean. The hotel is very close to the dunes (a mile or less) and within half an hour to Michigan City for shopping. The complimentary breakfast wasn't anything spectacular and that would be our only complaint. We are definitely planning on s... Read more

We stayed on the first floor. There was a fitness room we did not use. The staff was professional and helpful. The business center was small, but adequate for our needs. In the morning there was a breakfast with several options; including fresh eggs, ham, bacon and sausage, yogurt, fruit and cereals. We were only there in the evenings, nights and early morning. I don't think there were many guests. It was quiet, even though it was by a highway. Clean (thank you for that!) and the beds were quite ... Read more

The hotel was comfortable and very cozy. It was clean and very well maintained. What stood out the most was the customer service at the front desk. I think that's part of the whole experience and the front desk rep made it very rewarding to stay at this hotel. I don't know her name, I believe it starts with a M, Maria? she was Hispanic and very smiley and happy and that was the best part. I was having an off day and her positive smiling attitude passed on to me. She was very knowledgeable about ... Read more

We stayed one night on our way to Washington D.C. check in was fast. Rooms clean, and nicely decorated with a microwave and fridge. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was good, a nice variety and well stocked. Friendly front desk staff. Hotel has a pool and hot tub. The area looked nice but we didn't have time to use it. I would stay at this hotel again.

The customer service was great Miriam was more than happy to help us out! My mom and I showed up with a coupon and they had no problem taking it! We also asked where a good place to eat was and we got a great suggestion to go to Wagners(best ribs in town) the hot tub was nice and warm and the workout room was great! They also have some great options to eat for breakfast! We were only going to stay one night but unexpectedly came back for a second and we got the same discount rate! If anyone is c... Read more

Quiet and very clean. This was in a peaceful yet convenient spot between Portage and Chesterton near dunes and interstate. Staff was very kind and courteous. Breakfast was very good with variety. The room was large with two queen beds, having a variety of pillows on each. The comfort of their beds was excellent. Better than my new one at home!

We were both startled by a loud scratching noise coming from the direction of the door to hallway (our room #205, stayed one night from June 11 to June 12, 2016). I raised up and saw that it was 1:00 AM. I then saw a metal rod going back and forth under the door. My wife was really afraid. As I got up to open the door the attacker vanished down the hall. I yelled, 'get out of here'. There was really an environment for physical violence to occur had the assailant not fled the scene. I then dial... Read more

Nice hotel, breakfast was perfect. Fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee and make your own waffles, as well as sausage links and already made eggs. Even though there is a truck stop near by, you could not tell (noise factor). The beds were very very comfortable (front desk told me I was the 8th person to say that when I was checking out). I told her I didn't know if it was just because I was so tired, but I slept great! There are not many places to eat around the area, so you are limited, you will ... Read more

Rooms are very large, basic, but very clean and up to date. The location is one of the best in relation to the Indiana dunes. Breakfast is complimentary and basic fare for the Comfort chains. Nice shower too!

Our family of four was traveling from the east coast to WY. We are light sleepers and our main concerns are quiet, clean, and dark. Our first stop was in Porter to see the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. I'm happy with this stay - the room was spacious, clean and quiet. The cons are that the a.c. was loud and the sheets were crinkly (every time someone moved the sheets made noise). There was a large fireworks building across the street that caused no problem (but we hoped no one would throw li... Read more

The hotel sits right off of I94 and US20. The hotel has spacious rooms. The two queen bed room was large enough to fit a rollaway bed and have room to walk around it. The hotel was very quiet other than a few little feet on the top floor. The pool and hot tub were decent. The hot tub temperature was nice. It was not too hot to sit for a long time. The hot continental breakfast was good. There was a variety of foods for everyone. They serve link sausage, round eggs, normal pastries. There was ... Read more

We were in the area to go to the dunes. The hotel rooms were not huge, and the pool was very cloudy we used it for a very short time period one evening. The staff did allow us to check in early (about 1 hour) since our room was cleaned already. This was very thoughtful of them. Breakfast was until 9 am daily, since we like to sleep in we missed it every day. We have stayed at nicer comfort suits, but the rooms were clean and it was a place to lay our heads after a long day at the beach.

Some bad reviews on here, but always had good luck with Comfort Inn. Took the chance and it's just fine. Rooms are updated and very clean, staff is really nice. The breakfast was decent, kinda what you expect for this type of room. Quite spot just off major highway, easy access to the dunes state park and beach !!

I stay in Comfort Inns often when I am traveling on a tighter budget and have had no complaints. I don't have a major complaint about this one, only that the halls and common areas were quite dirty. The rooms were well equipped and had clearly been updated.

We had a wonderful experience at this property. Very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, plenty of room. I would ask for a room on the back side of the property, the front side is along the road and we heard trucks jakebraking all night. Good hotel for the price, we were very pleased with it, not too far outside Chicago, we flew into O'Hare and didn't have to drive long to get out of town.

Our family \friends gathering was displaced due to a fire in another hotel. The manager Mariam, was super nice, accommodating and understanding. She stayed in contact with me during the entire process of booking my group. She went out of her way to work with us to make sure that every went well. She offered us the use of the conference room to play games, and provided rollerway beds. The rooms and hotel were very clean. All of the staff was friendly and curteous at all times. We stayed overnight on way to Chicago. The place is near to the Michigan lake and has very good picnic spots around to relax and enjoy. Not too many places for food in the vicinity. But a drive of about 15 mins to Valparaiso has many eateries. The staff was very cooperative and welcoming. Mornings breakfast was continental, but the timing of 6 am to 9 am is too early as by and large visitors are here to relax.

Located just off I65, we stopped here on the way south. The hotel was decent with a decent meal. Would stay here again. The breakfast was ok, not great but not bad . . . Nothing really stands out about the hotel good or bad. The staff were pleasant and the spaces were clean and quiet.

The hotel was just what we were looking for clean, affordable, and indoor pool. The staff was great and helpful and that was the cherry on top. Indiana Dunes is a short 10 minute drive. I would stay here again and refer friends and family. The pool was good size and the breakfast was good and stocked.

My husband and I can not say enough about the service and hospitality give to us. We were not planning to be away from home therefore were not prepared. However Miriam and her team assisted us with toiletries, answered all of our questions and even provided menus to local restaurants that delivered. The room was clean and breakfast was great offering a variety of options. Our next visit to this area will be planned and we'll definitely staying here again! Keep up the Great Service!
