Pros: Easy check in, wonderfully sweet desk clerk. We received 2 room keys, WIFI sign in's and 2 cards to go online to verify if we won a free stay. Again I can't say enough good things about the clerk. After driving almost 4 hours she was like a breath of fresh air. First impression was that it was clean and had a great frontline. The bed was very comfy and room was clean. Unfortunately that was the end of the good parts. Cons: We were considering staying two nights, by first morning we were d... Read more

We stayed one night on a road trip across the region. Very efficient and friendly check-in at about 10 pm. Room 216 was a convenient location and had 1 king bed that was very comfortable. Room was reasonably clean and the wifi was adequate. Left early the next morning. Very reasonable rate and hotel was only about a mile from the freeway. If in the area again, I'd certainly consider staying again.

We were enroute from Niagara Falls to Iowa and stopped at this hotel about 11:00 pm. The desk clerk was very friendly. The room was very reasonably priced. Double Queen room for $69. The room was comfortable enough and clean enough. We were really only there to sleep, and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was just the basics. The eggs and sausage was not very good, but one can get filled up on waffles and bagels. They did have good coffee and some fresh fruit and yogurt. The... Read more

The staff were very friendly to our dog and made her feel so welcome. Great breakfast in the morning and clean rooms at night. Most important, I forgot something in the room, and the owner took it upon himself to mail it to me. Next time we're at the Dunes, we will definitely make a return visit.

Everyone working here was super nice. The room was large and comfortable, with a microwave and mini fridge. The location is fairly close to Indiana Dunes. Water pressure in the shower could have been better, but on the plus side, the granite sink was pretty.

There is nothing fancy about this motel but it is in the right location for us and it is an OK stay. It is easy to adjust the room temperature. The beds are comfortable, however, we had a king bed and I prefer a queen size.

I have a pet and was pleased that this hotel was "pet friendly." I was charged extra and I didn't mind that - understand that a little extra cleaning is required after pets visit. Had a first floor room which appeared to be great. However, they are not using that money to clean rooms - not this room anyway. My first floor room at the end of the hall near the side exit seemed great until I walked in. The room reeked of urine. MY dog did NOT use the room as a bathroom but obviously lots of other... We were tired after driving 13 hours and had our grandson with who wanted to use a pool. We decided to stop and spend the night. The lady that answered the phone was very nice, provided directions and answered our questions on arrival. We thought we had the wrong address when we arrived because this is an odd Comfort Inn motel building, it looks as if it is a business, not a motel (with no pool as we found out)... The parking lot had several trucks ranging from semi's, service vans and trucks. T... Read more

This is the second time we've stayed here with our dog. Room 104 was clean but the dog knew there had been other dogs. It was conveniently located near the side entrance but there is a small step up from outside which made getting the cart in difficult. I like its location in the woods. Lots of places to walk the dog. Being near the train tracks didn't bother us. Also, it's just a few miles from the lake and we went there for sunset and a nice walk. Very convenient to get on the turnpike. Well k... Read more

Was in town for one night for a wedding with my husband and we booked this hotel since it was a great price in a convenient location. I've usually had good luck with Choice Hotels so I expected something average and acceptable. Basically the only "pro" about this hotel was the location. An unprofessional front desk woman, awful housekeeping, a leaky air conditioner that made the carpet wet and smell like a mildewed basement, drab, dated decor and poor upkeep earns this hotel a D+ at best. This older hotel is a good place if you are bringing a small dog but otherwise, I would suggest driving 3 miles east to Porter and staying in the newer Comfort Inn there because it is newer and has a pool. But the rooms were a bit bigger in this hotel than in many newer Comfort Inns and our room on the back side of the first floor was fine although it was noisy from trains running throughout the night. It was clean though. The breakfast was typical hotel food but the dining room was extremely... Read more

They give us our requested ground floor room and room smelled great, looked great and very clean. Beds slept nice and pillows were very comfy. I really liked having the lemon water in the lobby since it was a rather warm day when we arrived. The coffee is very good and breakfast was good as well. This was the second year in a row we staying at this hotel and it didn't disappoint either time. We will stay again when we come through next year.

Friendly person at the desk. This is a place to stop and rest on your way to your destination. First room we got, door didn't close. We were moved to another room. The shower pressure was very weak. We didn't get our morning call that we had requested the night before. We were hungry after ddriving the whole day. We arrived in the evening. As soon as we checked in, we asked for a suggestion about where we could have dinner. The place recommended was awful.

Other than clean sheets and a comfortable bed, this place is a dump. Filthy carpet, peeling wall paper, air vents furry with dust. Unidentifiable stains on furniture. Towels threadbare. Furniture from the seventies. Chrome peeling from tub fixtures. Smells of mildew throughout. We have been faithfull users of Comfort Inns for years and have never been dissatisfied until now. We will give the chain another chance but never again at this squalorly hole. Our best advice is keep driving, there is a ... Read more

This Comfort Inn has friendly helpful staff and is conveniently located but is older and leaves a bit to be desired in that it lacks in now common amenities. There is no pool, no fitness center, no guest laundry, no guest computer and no elevator. Given that, the property offered very comfortable beds, newer furniture and décor, flat screen TV, frig and microwave, overall a pleasant room experience. The bathroom area however was a bit quirky and made me laugh, nice granite counter top but they ... Read more

So titles because of the sign out front. On pleasure trip cross country. Booked ahead. Just off I90. Convenient location. Check in was quick. Desk staff friendly. Room was nice and clean and beds were super comfortable. Breakfast area nice and clean. Waffles were great. Good selection of food items hot and cold and healthy. Overall good value. Good room. Good night's rest.
