The staff at this property is extremely friendly. The facility and room is starting to look a little worn or older but seems to be clean. I know from staying here for years now that it use to be better. It is close to the Hollywood casino and the ski resort.

HIE was a nice place to stay. Facility is clean, staff is nice, pool was heated, and breakfast was excellent (many items to choose from). If ever visited this area again, would stay here again. Conveniently located close to restaurants and interstate for easy travel to attractions (creation museum, Newport aquarium).

This staff was friendly and efficient. Checking in was fast and easy. Our room was clean and good sized. The bed was very comfortable. Refrigerator and microwave came in handy. We had a good breakfast in the morning. This was a good place to stay and we'll go back there the next time we're in the area.

Well, the fire/smoke alarm activated 3x between 2:45-3:30 A.M. The cause was a malfunction, not an actual emergency. We had no hot water when we checked in. We notified staff about the problem, hoping the issue would be fixed by the next morning. No luck!! Cold showers are no FUN!!!

room was clean the breakfast was good and got a good price it is also close to the casino and a lot cheaper to stay here! The girl that checked us in was helpful ... the pool we found was empty so if you are wanting to swim you might want to call to see when that will be up and running.

We enjoyed our stay here. Clean, friendly staff, and wonderful breakfast. It is a little dated in the structure of the building but has been updated in regards to the furniture and décor. It was family friendly and comfortable. The pool was not working, though when we booked they said it was. They did arrange for us to go to another hotel, 2-3 mins right down the road, to swim though. The sign on the pool here said "By order of Dearborn County Health Department Pool is Closed." One staff mem... Read more

Upon arriving at 12:45a.m., the lobby smelled of tobacco smoke, the breakfast area was not clean, (bread crumbs in the serving tray from the previous morning), and a dark, dated & dismal decor. Nothing inviting. We were issued our room (104), which was close to the lobby, it too was dated. It smelled of smoke, & was an adjoining room. The adjoining room door was NOT locked & the walls were paper thin. Two double beds, one of which was so worn we couldn't use it. The bath tub had been resurfaced ... Read more

Stayed here for the weekend, room was musky. The handle in the shower broke. The hotel ran out of hot water one morning. Pool was closed due to naughty kid crapping in pool. Otherwise breakfast was good. I prob will not go back and I wouldn't recommend it to others.

Should win 1st prize for the Holiday Inn in most need of refurbishment. Room smelled damp and musty. Furniture was old and worn and general decor was dark and dreary. Toilet roll holder was rusty and chrome missing from shower controls. No room in bathroom so was basin was just inside room door so not private.

My wife and I stayed here one night as part of a scheduled rest stop during our recent road trip. I selected the hotel based upon reputation and location. The price was higher than other Holiday Inn Expresses we've stayed at, but I assumed that it was because of it's proximity to the airport. Once we arrived it was unfortunately really too late to back out. Old, musty, worn out are some of the adjectives that come to mind. On a positive note, thankfully there did not seem to be a bug prob... Read more

The physical building was ok. It was dated but maintained all right through updates. I had gotten up earlier than my family and saw the bill under the door had a balance so I got ready and went down to the counter to find out why my bill was not settled. Apparently they don't do auto check out here. After it was taken care of I went back to my room (around 7:15am) and around 8am housekeeping banged on the door to begin cleaning!!! My family had just started to get around and we all were st... Read more

We were driving home from an out west trip. We were exhausted and planned to stay at this Holiday Inn because Holiday Inns are our favorite...until now. We arrived at about midnight, checked in- a small balding man said there is a 100 deposit so I left my card and we wanted to pay for the room in cash. He said, oh you can't- our system is down? So I thought that was weird. We were stressed, heard there was a casino down the block decided to go there for a drink. We got home, the bill was und... Read more

This was a welcome relief to find a room and the staff was friendly and helpful. There was a wide selection of breakfast items. My food was hot and delicious. Check out was easy and just as friendly. We highly recommend this property.

We were nicely greeted by the front desk staff who informed us they had no hot water, and had adjusted our room rate, it wasn't great, but things happen like this, a cool quick shower, and we were enroute to the creation museum! Hotel needs upgrades and a redo.

Hotel staff was friendly. Hotel was old. Very little hot water. Rooms smelled of orange cleaner every day. I think they were trying to mask smoke smell since most of the employees smoked. Most of the time we took cold showers. Blinds wouldn't close completely so you had a sliver of light coming through right in the bed. Just an average hotel.

This was our second visit to this hotel. Stayed here last year and it was not a good experience. Due to a booking error, I booked this place again. I was pleasantly surprised. The location stinks for this hotel, not their fault. When the casino relocated, it left a huge hole. Once you get past that, this place is clean, and the staff was very nice. Our room was a little heavier on the cleaner smell, and the pool room always seem flooded. Minor issues, considering the improvements that we... Read more

This Holiday Inn Express is one of the worst IHG hotels that I have ever stayed. The desk attendant was polite, but you could tell it was forced, not sincere. We stayed in Room #256, a King Executive. The hotel seemed old. It smelled musty and kind of like wet dog. The bathroom really smelled musty and moldy. I took a bath, which slowly drained while it was plugged. I observed water trickling from the ceiling and wall above the shower down onto the shower wall and tub. I found the tub mat was... Read more

You can tell this is an old hotel, it could use some updating but it's not bad. The rooms were very nice. They had been updated recently, except the door from the hallway which was old. The room smelled clean and was in good condition. The door to the restroom stuck and you had to slam your body into it to get out. The toilet ran off and on all night. Between that and the noisy A/C, most of us barely slept. The beds, however, were pretty comfy. We heard from others that there was no hot ... Read more

Have stayed here before in a room that had a Jacuzzi. The room we stayed in this time had a jetted tub and we were actually pleased with this room. Although this was a standard size room it was clean, had a fridge and microwave. The desk staff were very nice and extremely helpful.

I was given a very small room, found out the elevator took up most of the room. Felt like I was staying in a closet, but I still paid full price for half a room. Management didn't discount my room because of the small size. Plus it was impossible to rest since I got to listen to the elevator all night. In the morning I left before dawn. Even though it was still dark, all the exterior lights had been turned off. Kind of difficult to load and prepare my motorcycle in the dark. Again, manage... Read more

After reading some of the negative reviews, I double checked to make sure the address was the same. We did not have the issues of musty rooms, nor leaks. We Booked 2 rooms (an additional room for my parents). We were upgraded to executive rooms (IHG Aspire members), and the rooms were great with no issues. Breakfast was standard HIE breakfast food, and well stocked throughout our time there. Afternoon cookies were a nice treat upon arrival. Front desk gave a good recommendation for dinner re... I am really surprised at the positive reviews for this hotel. We have stayed in IHG's all over the US and, while they aren't all beautiful, perfect places, they have been fine. This place needs to be taken down and start all over again. The smell when we entered the room was horrible and we should have left immediately. Bad life choice. I dreamed all night that I was in a laundry facility. Even worse, upon awaking the following morning, we had bug bites all over our feet and ankles. We told t... Read more

For the past 12 years, on average I've spent over 200 nights a year in hotels because of my job requirements to travel. I try to stay exclusively at Holiday Inn Express because of the quality and comfort. I dare say this is the worst ever, anywhere, and stands out in my memory as one of the three worst hotels of any brand. Its run down and not maintained, unsafe, smells horribly, and no one seems to care. Located on Hwy 50 (Eads Parkway) and just across the river from Cincinnati, it's convenien... Read more
