Hotel was in a great location near rt 80 but was quiet. Near South Bend. Not far from Blue Chip casino for a little break. Also less than 30 minutes from NotreDame. We would definitely stay here again.

Tried to have a decent getaway with my wife but this definitely was not kept to the same standard of most other Hamptons. The grounds/curb appeal leave a lot to be desired broken sign out front, and just overall unkept land made this look like a scene from a horror movie

Need I say more. Anyone not traveling with a pet should not stay here or at the very least should check out the room before paying. Breakfast was mediocre and coffee was cold. We stayed because of the location. I will drive a little further next time.

I would not recommend this Hampton, I stay at a lot of Hampton Inns and this one is poor. The room smelled, the toilet was not clean and the shower did not work correctly. They never had anyone at the front desk.

Don't usually comment on chain hotels. Am only mentioning this one because it is very easy on and off from I80. Having said that, I must mention that it seemed to be the only one in that immediate locale and is quiet. We had a nice view of a pond out our room window. In the morning fog it was quite pretty. Also want to recommend the Trattoria Enzo restaurant in downtown LaPorte as a great place for dinner....about a 10 minute drive from the hotel. Average hotel breakfast bar, except they ha... First time in a Hampton Inn as I am a new Hilton Honors member, I usually stay at Starwood resorts. Good check in, checked in a little early and person at the desk went up to the room herself to make sure it was ready. No free bottled water in room as promised and no perks as a Hilton Gold member. Was very disappointed that there wasn't a refrigerator or microwave in room. Free breakfast was not good at all except for the waffles that you make yourself but how can you go wrong with that? Not muc... Read more

Very, very nice Hotel with all the amenities you expect for Hampton. But with a bill of $222.00 in LaPorte, Indiana for 1 night, drive a little further east or west and you will find any top notch hotel for a far less money! Stayed here a week before Memorial Day 2016.

Grabbed this hotel when my plans changed and I had to rearrange my travel plans. The staff was pleasant, the room was clean and the coffee hot the next day. The hotel was on my route to the airport the next day, and close to the interstate.

Staff was smoking when entered hotel to check in and had to wait until they were done prior to being checked in. Breakfast was from 6-10am and by 8:45 there was no breakfast left :( Asked for more food and waited until 9:30 with still no food :( Sad because last year staff was nice and helpful and breakfast was good!

Stayed at the Hampton Inn in LaPorte Indiana. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed. Excellent staff and wonderful service. If you are ever in that area I highly recommend it to anyone, beds are nice and firm with a very friendly staff.

20 minutes to check in. No hot water for shower. SLOW SLOW complimentary Internet. Overall a bad experience for a business stay. I will not stay here again as I paid the premium price for a business suite and could not get much done with the internet speed.

No fridge or microwave in the room, and the internet connection was pathetic. Two nights was almost $300, and the surrounding grounds and adjoining property looked like a war zone. I wish I had paid extra to stay at Holiday Inn Express. I will not stay at a Hampton Inn again unless I am forced to.

I have nothing to report about this stay at this hotel. The convenience of the location was a fair father than I thought when booking our stay. The air conditioning did not work, the accommodating to our arrival was not fulfilled to prior arrangements.

This hotel was very close to I-80/90 which made it a great stopping point for our trip. The parking and location was safe and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was just OK, but the issues were around the room with the air conditioner that was not working properly, room that was not as great as it could have been (shower was not very good and carpet dirty) and the bed was off the frame which I discovered with my shin... Besides the use of the cheap paper and no glass, the price was not worth the stay. My wife put some biils in a sock in a drawer which were gone the next day. We will not stay in a Hampton Inn in the future.

Overall the stay was great. Hotel is very similar to other Hampton Inn hotels and lives up to the standards of the brand. Wish the breakfast had more options, but the attendants kept it clean and tidy AND were very friendly. Stop was convenient on the way to Chicago and the front desk attendant was friendly and welcoming. Bathrooms were not very clean-only major turn off.

My wife and I Love road trips. We had to head into Chicago for 5 days and drove from Philly to LaPorte, stayed overnight, then into CHI. Left Chicago 5 days later, stayed at the Hampton Inn in LaPorte again S overnight. Next day did the 10 hours on the turnpike back to Philadelphia, while listening to the turnpike and John Grisham on CDs. The Staff were excellent and the breakfasts were great! The room was Very Nice and crisp and clean. Highly recommend!!

This is an example of the older style Hamptons. Our king-bed room was spacious and clean, although lacking the fridge and microwave that have become standard in most Inns of this chain. There was a nice appearing pool we didn't use. The morning breakfast was a little below average and they didn't seem to be prompt to keep things full (they ran out of forks!) Conveniently located off the Indiana Toll Road, this might be an option for nearby casinos or Notre Dame football games. Nothing terri... Read more

Many members of my family stayed here during a family funeral and the staff was very helpful. We were even allowed to have a dinner gathering in the main breakfast-eating area where the local members of the family were able to join us for a pizza dinner (we brought the pizza in, of course). It made a bad time less bad. And the younger members of the party quite enjoyed the pool. Oh, and the beds were very comfortable!

Stayed here for one night (Friday August 5th). Got to the hotel before the 3:00pm check in time and the front desk staff checked on our room to see if it was ready and it was. Got checked in with no problem. We stayed in room 226 which I selected the day before using the Hilton App. Room was clean as well as the bathroom. The pillows gave me the best sleep on my 6000 mile trip, but this hotel suffers from a shortage of staff and poor management. The tile floors and carpets were in need of a deep clean. The light mopping and vacuuming were not enough. My wife's shoes actually stuck to a carpet so badly I had to wash them off. Twice on the four day stay, they ran out of OJ and other breakfast essentials. The coffee seemed to be cold most of the time. The staff was pleasant but over worked. A safety hazard exi... Read more

Friendly and accommodating staff made my brief stay a pleasant one. The room was very clean and comfortable. A couch and coffee table were a nice touch. Bed was large and nicely prepared and very comfortable. Free breakfast was OK, but not the greatest. Had a few issues, one being no iron in the room so had to request, but received promptly. I would stay at this hotel again and would definitely recommend it.

It is out in the middle of no where except the highway above it. The hotel was nice in side and the hotel people were very nice. When we arrived we were told the elevator broke the night before and that our room was on the 3rd floor. She said they were inspecting the first floor room and that there was one person in front of us. But if we could come back in about an hour, they would have a room on the first floor for us. we arrive at 4 o'clock. We went to dinner, which we had to drive like 10 an... Read more

Not what I expect from a Hampton Inn. There were some unusual problems, but other things were not the quality I expected. We arrived about 6:00 PM, and were disappointed that our room was not ready yet. We had to wait about an hour while our room was cleaned. The receptionist invited us to enjoy some freshly brewed coffee while we waited, but the coffee was very luke-warm. The hotel is located close to I-80 and there are several dining establishments within a 10 min drive. The rate is reasonable for a ND football weekend and is only a 30 min drive west of South Bend. The hotel is visible from the interstate but is located in an area that is need of some TLC. It looked to be a location for construction waste. If you value your sleep, try to locate lodging that is well clear of highways, expressways, and other construction zones where heavy vehicles will be operating all night long. Unfortunately I stayed at a hotel that was in clear visible distance to a heavily driven interstate expressway and the noise was intolerable. Hope you are able to avoid that same situation, especially if you have business meetings the next morning.

This place is a bit isolated. Nothing around it for food. Liked the hotel room and breakfast just wish I would have brought a cooler for munchies. Near New Buffalo but worried about too much wine tasting then driving to enjoy it as much as I would have liked. Shuttle would have been nice addition.
