A comfortable overnight stay, clean rooms and nice bed. Basic breakfast, but then again, great location! The elevators are old, and therefore slow....the staircase was a better option most of the times. No major complains, I think it's just the 'age' of the property.

Let me start by saying I did not stay at the Hotel. I was a volunteer for the welcoming committee for the Indy 500. I wanted to review my experience with the staff and the facility. The staff was warm and welcoming. Even the valets were helpful and I parked my own car. I spent the day welcoming the visitors and giving city insights. We frequented the bar in the hotel. First night we had two separate checks due to leaving and coming back. Our bartender was great so we tipped him FIFTY PERCENT the first time. Later that evening we came back with a group and when we requested our check he didn't split it accordingly. We used our card and the rest of the party gave of $60.00 cash and charged the rest on our card. The bartender (unknowingly I am sure) took the $60.00 cash and charged the entire amount to our card. Our stay was pretty good with the exception of a smart phone charger being 'removed' from our room and the quality of valet parking service. We paid nearly $100 for using valet service. When we arrived on Thursday, I did not call for the car until Sunday when we were departing. The car was damaged during that time. Why did I have to pay $100 for a damaged car that your staff determined was vandalism?

It's a little dated, but has character. Our room was by the elevator and a baby next door, but we didn't hear anything in our room- it was very quiet. Our room was clean, however there was a room service tray out by the elevators from when we checked in until we checked out (only one night). The man who checked us in was not friendly- it seemed like he was angry at someone when we checked in, but he was not rude and he was able to let us check in early, so we were very appreciative. This hotel was once used as a bank in downtown Indianapolis. Being on the circle, the hotel is in a prime location for fine dining, theater, and sporting events. The art deco style interior combined with a 1920's feel to the lobby make this a very chic and vintage hotel to stay in. Enjoyed our stay after visiting Crackers Comedy Club. However, I'd recommend skipping valet parking OR go over your returned vehicle with a fine-toothed comb. When my car was returned, I didn't notice until driving away that there was a noticeable ink mark on my leather driver's seat. Apparently, the valet had been carrying a pen in his/her back pocket. There is so much to do within walking distance, parking is easy, and the hotel itself is historic, unique and classy. The rooms are all a bit different, and all have a touch of luxury. This was a nice hotel with a bit of a historic flair... We really enjoyed the location and the staff. Breakfast staff was exceptionally welcoming and friendly. Our room was on the 14th floor and was awesome - minus a little bit of peeling wallpaper. We did feel a little bait and switched when it came to valet parking - being from the Northeast I thought $29 was pretty steep for a sleepy Sunday night in the Midwest. Likewise we were never told about a self-parking option. Otherwise nice st... Read more

Traditional, older hotel that is updated but kept the beautiful antique styling. Stayed one night here for a wedding and appreciated the very quick valet response time (just $5.00 more to valet than self-park across the street). cost for one night was $186 . From the valet to the check in, it was very easy and quick and this hotel was heavily booked. Elevators ran very quickly and we were on the 15th floor but never had to wait. The room was lovely, clean and large. No free breakfast but ther... Read more

Stay here on a business trip. All I had to do was walk across street to conference centre. Staff was nice, breakfast was good. The only thing I had a problem with, is the housekeeping kept turning off my a/c. It was like an oven, every night when I returned.

I stayed here for 3 days, I was traveling from Chicago to Washington DC and decided to take the train to Indy as I was born there but had not been back in over 20 years. This hotel first of all was in an excellent location; across from several restaurants, in particular the BBQ place was delicious, and also next to a Starbucks. In was in walking distance to all the monuments and to the arts district ( if you are out of shape take a uber to the arts district) It was a lot of fun, The room was lar... Read more

Due to a water pipe break on the street, the hotel had no water. It was relatively late so we stayed. The night staff wasn't very pleasant and not very accommodating to us as guests. At 7:00 am the morning crew came in and they were much nicer. They did the best they could to help the guests, even brewed coffee down the street and carried it in. I was surprised we were charged full price. I know it wasn't the hotels fault, but also would assume they have insurance to cover lost profits or co... Read more

Just came back from 2 night stay at hotel. Very friendly staff, clean comfy rooms in 1910's historic building. -lots of self park options nearby that are more affordable than valet. We didn't use our car once we arrived as Indy has a very walkable downtown. Stadium, restaurants, monument are very close by. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here the night before the marathon. Check-in was timely, kids enjoyed the pool (a touch cold) and hot tub. Beds were comfy, but sheets were stiff and abrasive (probably from bleach). Rooms were clean and included a fridge, microwave and Kerig. Downtown had some definite sewage smells and the lobby of the hotel seemed to have them too on the first day. Didn't notice the next day. Staff had gallons of water and bananas for all the runners after the race! Nice touch. We did not eat the ... Read more

I just stayed there last weekend for the marathon. The hotel was mid-sized but very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast buffet was okay but you can also order made to order breakfast. I liked the large windows and city view. My room was very spacious although other members of our party had rooms that were a bit smaller, esp the corner rooms. Overall I was very happy here. It's only a few blocks from the marathon start & finish next to the statute. We had a great weekend in this city at his hotel!

Nice hotel - but rooms were not ready when we expected, almost late for wedding due to this. pricey. The bathroom was very large -- but had a lot of wasted space. the bed was very comfortable. Hotel was old bank, but updated nicely. Noise wasn't an issue on a Saturday night. Lots of restaurants close by..

Very pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms. Not surprised by Hoosier hospitality: genuinely friendly and accommodating. Location is good and prices are reasonable. For an extra $5 valet parking is available, and the good part is that that includes in and out access during the day. Breakfast buffet includes an omelet station, so I'd rate it better than average. Pool is fairly small.

An excellent location for kicking around the brick streets of Indy that are just full of bars and restaurants. The old hotel was a classic. The hotel was clean, the staff was nice. Loved the ease of online check-in prior to arrival - made on-site check in SO fast and easy! Valet attendant(s) were nice and car was brought quickly when needed. Location is great - right next to Monument Circle ... however, be advised that at night there are fairly loud noises played from the Circle to deter birds from nesting. It wasn't horrible, but if you're a light sleeper, you may want to choose a room opposite the Circle.

I had pre-registered as a Honors Member and not only did I not get the floor I was given, I had to wait for another room past the normal check-in time upon arrival. The hair dryer was cracked and should have been replaced. It worked for a little while and stopped. Luckily I did find another dryer in the room. If you want to self-park, it's across the street.
