The cleanliness of the hotel even though it is an older hotel is outstanding. The friendliness of the hotel stay is above average and I would recommend this hotel highly. While its location is not for everyone, it is well worth the additional drive to stay there

As an HHONORS member, we were greated well and received two bottles of water and when we arrived at our pre-selected (via the hhonors app) room saw a note on the table with a small bag of goodies. The note congratulated us aas being the guests of the day. This facility compares well with the entire Hilton Garden Inn fleet.

I was in South Bend and flying out of Chicago the next morning. It was late and I needed a 1/2 way point before getting to Gary and South Chicago. I think Chesterton proper is a little further north but the hotel is right off the freeway. Check in was fast and easy. My Diamond status was recognized and despite what seemed like a challenge evening with some maintenance problems for the person that checked me in, she was delightful and welcoming. The room was fine. HVAC was controlled at ... Read more

This is an older Hilton Garden Inn and it shows....very clean but dated and in need of a remodel. Several of the overhead security lights in the parking lot were not working. Bathrooms clean but small and in need of a remodel...bathtub actually moved under our feet not making us feel very secure. Air conditioner very noisy when shutting off and turning on which was often. On a very positive note, very nice and helpful staff.

I made the reservation for my in-laws who have stayed in multiple hotels around the country. They were very satisfied with their stay. The rooms were nice and the staff friendly. Breakfast was not included with the cost of the hotel room but the price for breakfast was very reasonable and they appreciated the selection of options.

We were on our way to northern Wisconsin and needed a place for a one night stay. The location was perfect, just off Interstate 80, with easy on and off access. The hotel grounds and interior were immaculate and the bed in the room was comfortable due to adjustable firmness. Staff was polite and knowledgeable about the surrounding venues. Wait staff in the restaurant were very attentive. Will not hesitate to use this location in the future when we need a one night layover.

We stayed at this property 5/26 and 5/27. From the start the experience was extremely positive. The vestibule has two story curtains and subdued, restful tones of beiges and browns. Many comfortable seating areas were evident, including two patios. The front desk clerk was very polite and efficient. Our kind bed room was clean, quiet and a decent size. We heard no hallway noises during the night. The amenities included a microwave and mini-fridge, along with a Keurig coffee maker (we went... Read more

We were visiting family to attend a graduation. We chose this hotel, even though it cost more than others in the area, expecting it to be nicer than the less expensive hotels. When we checked in, we were disappointed that they did not offer a complimentary breakfast. Fortunately, there is a Bob Evans next door where we could get breakfast at a better price than the hotel breakfast. We also were placed in a room right across from the ice machine and vending area. We asked to be moved in order to ... Read more

Overnight business meeting in nearby town: As a Hilton Reward member, I have grown accustomed to the consistency that Hilton offers. On this trip I had an early meeting, so decide to try another hotel closer to my meeting. It only took a few minutes at the other hotel for me to realize that I should have booked with Hilton. I left the other hotel and drove a little further to get to This Hilton, but it was worth it. What I learned was what I value in a overnight business stay with Hilton: c... Read more

The Hilton Garden in is very convenient to the Toll Road, and offers a well maintained place to stay near Chicago. The prices are affordable, and the staff is both helpful and polite. We enjoyed the Breakfast, but thought the pool area could have been maintained a bit better.

My bed was very comfortable - I slept well the first night and the second was only disrupted by noise from the room next door. The cook had failed to turn up on our last morning so staff made the continental breakfast and did not charge for it. Free wifi and parking. Hotel is also close to major roads

This was about the 10th stop for us at a Hilton-line Hotel during an 18 day trip out west. This room was the least updated of all of them. We were surprised at the wallpaper border and bathrooms that looked 20 years old. The hallways were musty smelling. This hotels was an option for our first get away as a married couple. It was great for the location to get to the dunes and the other places we visted during the stay. The pizza place across the road was really great! While it looks like they have done some updating and it may be in various stages, the pool area does need some loving with a major scrub job. On a funny note we figured out that one side of the bed was detached and deflated, my husband fixed it by reattaching the hose!

The Hilton Garden Inn Chesterton has an amazingly helpful staff - and a delicious breakfast. The hotel was pretty centrally located between Chesterton and Valparaiso so that was nice. The lobby was updated and modern and I wish I could say the same for the rooms.
