Quick close get away for us. Rooms are nice, clean but older. Restaurant was amazing. Prices very low and quality very high. I would suggest this place to anyone looking for great views and thousands of acres of nature to walk.

I made reservations for this hotel through Travelocity. I contacted the hotel before our arrival to make sure there was wifi in the rooms as my husband was oncall the weekend of our stay. I was told he would be fine. After we checked in, he of course had a high ticket assigned and needed to log into work. The wifi would not work. Not only did we have an issue with the wifi in the room, the room itself was just awful. The carpet had stains on it and it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed recentl... Read more

This isn't a review of the actual hotel, because we weren't even able to stay there. We have a family of 6 (four kids 5 through 11), and they don't allow that many people in one room. Fine - that's not an uncommon problem for us. They told us we needed two rooms (which is reasonable and we were willing to pay for that), but they couldn't guarantee they would be adjoining. What?!? They have adjoining rooms, probably specifically for a situation like ours, yet they couldn't let us book them? ... Read more

I do understand that the resort is under construction, but that is not an acceptable excuse for its poor housekeeping or maintenance. My family and In-laws stayed here for a little getaway Saturday - Sunday. We had booked two rooms, which was very pricey for the condition. We made reservations months in advanced but still were on opposite sides of the resort. The front desk had two new employees, which had no clue how to even find my reservations. The manager, I'm assuming, finally came to help... Read more

I chose this hotel because it has a pet friendly policy. The location in the middle of Illinois State Beach Park was great. If someone would take the time and money and invested in this rundown hotel it would be awesome. To keep his review shored that is how I will sum up the hotel very run down. The housekeeping is not the greatest there was dirt in all the corners, things were sticky, and full of fingerprints. The thing that bothered me the most was the fact that they put a very thin fitted s... Read more

This was a great get-a-way for getting our recruit to some peace and quiet. Only 25 easy minutes away to RDC. Great staff, great food, great surroundings! Also was given a great discount for Navy graduation. This may not be a 5 Star hotel so no complaining if you find something wrong. Enjoy the positives!!!

This is a very nice place and location but because of loud noises, you just cannot sleep there. There were constant weddings and parties there on both nights that I stayed with very loud music and noise until midnight. I tried to drown it out with my tv and iPhone sounds but could not do it. As a person who likes to hit the trails reasonably early, this made my trip a bust. This is not a cheap place so I paid a lot of money for very little sleep!

Rooms were mediocre at best. Sink detaching from the wall. No mini frig. No microwave. Wanted to go somewhere to stay(park the car and not have to leave for a few days). Dining room closed for memorial service (which they could have told us about when we arrived) Saturday we went out for dinner and came back to have a drink in the bar (closed for Wedding Party only). They offer massage thru another company, but only offer one person at a time, we we had to leave for that too. Watched a ma... Read more

Thanks again for a great stay. Charm of an older resort, but all great updates. Fabulous new bed, beautifull new shower. Work out and pool facilities awesome and clean. Food was spectacular. Will recommend to many.

We came here mainly because of the beach because the picture looked like the Lake Michigan beaches, however there is literally no space on the beach and there is almost no sand. Only rocks. Room also was outdated and in very bad condition plus for the whopping 200 I paid for a room, totally not worth it. If you are one those families looking for a beach getaway, please do not go here.

We spent one night at the Illinois Beach Resort to visit a friend who was there for their family reunion. It looks like they are currently renovating, but the renovations had not made it to the 3rd floor yet. The rooms smelled a bit strange and frankly weren't the cleanest, but it had a Keurig coffee maker and the bathroom looked to have been updated more recently. The view of the lake was outstanding however! For the price, it wasn't as nice as I expected. I don't think we will return.

My wife, daughter and I had a recent 5-day stay here during the peak summer season. We often include national or state park lodges in our vacations, so it made sense to visit Illinois Beach Resort at Illinois Beach State Park. I am reviewing this as a state park lodge and not as a ‚??resort‚??, because this is very much a government-owned park property for the masses. This location can be an acceptable choice for a couple or family ‚?? but definitely pay attention to key observations and reco... Read more

We stayed at the Illinois Beach Resort as our "Christmas in the Summer" so we had 16 people in our party from 6-73. Living where we do, we knew the beachs on Lake Michigan were questionable this year, our own beaches have been lost due to higher water levels in Lake Michigan so this wasn't a surprise. We were surprised by the rooms. They appeared to be newly remodeled, but lacked attention to detail. Wallpaper hung in the bedroom was crooked, and the wallpaper in the bathroom had been 3/4 re... We were looking forward to a quiet getaway on Lake Michigan and were completely let down on driving into the property. I knew this was an older facility, but was not expecting the terrible disrepair and dirtiness of the property. Newly remodeled this was not. It might have had new wallpaper and such, but it was certainly not remodeled. And Certainly not for the insane price. We couldn't get out fast enough, only staying the one night out of four we had booked. We went to Chicago to stay in... Read more

This was our second visit to Illinois Beach Resort and Conference Center for a class reunion. The accommodations were very nice with spacious rooms that have been recently remodeled. There are plenty of amenities with a pool and work out room, but we did not use them. The miles of beautiful beach along Lake Michigan make this a wonderful relaxing place to visit. Special shout out to Jenna at the front desk who make our group's check-in process go smoothly.

This is a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy the park and lake but not camp or pay a ton. The lakeside location is fantastic with easy access to the trails in the park. The service and restaurant are on the slow side but decent (don't recommend ordering the steak, however). That said, this is an older property that needs (and I believe is getting) some upgrades. If you're looking for top notch service and amenities you will be disappointed. WiFi isn't great- we couldn't connect in the room b... Read more

What a nice place and it will be even better when the renovations are complete. Most comfortable bed we slept in on our whole vacation(12 nights away from home)...Food was excellent at the restaurant and the views are beautiful...Can't wait to visit again next summer!!!

My daughter had her wedding here. It is currently going through a renovation. There were stacks of mattresses in the front lobby when we arrived. Overall, it's no where near a "resort" quality of any measure. None of the amenities I requested (rollaway bed, fridge) were provided during our stay. It wasn't clear what was available in terms of use of the facilities (pool, fitness areas) so we never took advantage. I was told the gym was an additional charge and later found out it was complementary... Read more
