Average hotel for families and long stays for business travelers. Friendly staff and nice amenities. However, remote if one does not have a car, with nothing within walking distance. Lack of nearby restaurants an issues.

I stay at the Residence Inn regularly when in the area on business. The staff are great, and very friendly, and the suites are a good size and always spotlessly clean. A nice, but, simple breakfast is available! A good value place to stay! I keep coming back!

Probably my best hotel experience in the US - which is hard to beat, considering the duration of my stays and length of each stay. Everything about this hotel - especially the attitude of the management and staff - is indeed highly commendable and exemplary. I can only wish that all my hotel stays would be like these!

We couldn't have asked for more in our visit for graduation at Great Lakes Naval Base Boot Camp. The staff at this hotel went out of their way to accommodate us with an upgraded and very clean room. Every staff member we encountered greeted us with a smile and offer to help. Special commendation goes to assistant manager, Jim, for his great help. You can't go wrong here!

I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff at the Residence Inn. Their helpfulness exceeded all expectations, right up to sending pizza to our room when they heard that one of our group had been pick-pocketed in Chicago. Smiling, friendly faces can make all the difference when you are travelling and this place was filled with great people. We stayed in clean studios that had very comfy beds. Amenities included a quiet patio area outside, clean and functioning exercise equipment and a morning b... Read more

We stayed 5 days for the Naval graduation as many mention. It was great. At check-in John was incredibly helpful and truly interested in making our stay the best even rearranging our reservation to make our stay even better. The hotel was well kept, clean and well laid out. Housekeeping was very good and room comfortable. The best part of the stay was the staff and treatment of the Navy graduates and family. One morning the breakfast area was very crowded when we went for breakfast with our sail... Read more

Been here 2 weeks and this is by far the most pleasant place I have ever stayed! Feels like home! From the check in experience to day to day encounters with the staff it's amazing! I have stayed in 5 star hotels all over the word, and yes they may have nicer furniture and amenities but this is hands down the best place I have ever stayed! Would book it a million times over!

It was a wonderful experience. Very clean and great atmosphere for my girlfriend and I. Matt at the front desk was a big help and made it simple and fast to check in ! Check it out. The pool , spa, basketball and volley ball court was a fantastic environment for families . We will definitely be back

Stayed for 5 days, had a random woman from off the street show up every night for free food and drink. She would also confront the guests for cigarettes and what ever else. Employees appeared to be aware of her, they watched her every night. This hotel has college students show up every evening as well, some kind of foreign exchange meet and greet. At this point, I no longer feel like a guest at my $200.00 + a night room, I feel like an intruder. No sooner than that feeling passes the students c... Read more

Average hotel but needs a remodel to remain fresh. Staff is pleasant but a bit quirky. WiFi internet is painfully slow even at the paid "enhanced" level (dial-up may be faster). Cell reception on AT&T is also very weak in this area (not hotel's fault but with poor Internet creates a toxic environment for business travelers trying to communicate). Guaranteed upgrade also did not go through. Little enhancements could go a log way.

First class - clean, spacious, roomy with a fireplace that ignites with a switch on the wall. Beautiful pool and hot tub. All the amenities of a great hotel. The only problem I had was there were no waste paper cans. Guess what? I found it under the bathroom sink! II would suggest putting it near the TV! I would definitely go back next time Iwe go to Key Lime Cove which is just a hop skip away!

Employees were OK and rooms were clean but this place is VERYy old. I was there for 10 days and my room had a mouldly odor the whole stay. I told the front desk and nothing was dome. Housekeeping changed my AC filter on day 7 and admitted they should do it a lot more often. It helped a little but not a lot. I also had to buy 2 pots and pans as their selection in the room was so bad. I even had to ask for plates and bowls. My room had 1 BOWL at check in versus the 4 they say they will ha... Read more

While impressed with the proximity to the naval base, and extremely happy no matter WHAT facilities we had, for the price, I could only give 3 stars. Partially updated but kitchen cupboards were old. Odd smell in room. $100 nonrefundable pet fee was high and thus this should not be considered pet-friendly. There is no indoor pool and hot tub and this would have been thoroughly enjoyed, if available, by my family and myself. We thoroughly appreciated the respect generated for our navy grad. Sin... We have an amazing visit to watch my son graduate from the Naval training at Great Lakes. The staff at Residence Inn were simply tremendous. From check-in to departure, they were absolutely tuned in to what families need during this important family event. From support before the trip, to special touches for graduating sailors during the visit, it was a very appreciated and heart-felt effort we won't ever forget. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was ready on time, and the support servi... Read more

We were going to stay at the Courtyard, but at the last minute we changed our location to the Residence Inn. They had a good free breakfast and we stayed in a two room suite with TWO bathrooms and THREE tvâ??s. It made everything very convenient. And the beds were great-so comfortable. I wish we could buy one for home. Our room was on the side of the building next to the road and we could hear the road noise, and construction noise one morning. It was a busy weekend for our sonâ??s Navy PIR grad... Read more

We stayed at the Residence inn the week of our son's PIR and it was great. It is located 4 miles from the base, around the corner from Sarge's Meet & Greet and close to walmart and several restaurants. It made everything very convenient. The staff was very friendly and awesome and kept our towels fresh and beds made neatly. There is a full breakfast every day from 6-9 and on the day or PIR, since the families had to leave early, they had set it up early that day. On the day of PIR, we came b... Read more
