I stayed at the Embassy in Schaumburg, IL, last week for five nights. The hotel is generally fine; this is my third occasion to stay. My second night there I remained in the room, not joining my team for dinner. They returned with some food from their restaurant for me, and asked a hotel worker to take it to me. It was late and I'd been long asleep. I was awakened, however, with the sound of a key card being inserted in my door. (Just a tipsy guest, I thought.) The door opened, my name w... Read more

This has to be one of the oldest embassy hotels in existence today. They are working on the lobby but not the bedrooms. Accommodations are from the 70s era. I would look for something different next time. I do not recommend this location unless you have no other choices to pick from. I am a Long time Hilton member and I was very disappointed to see that this was in such poor shape.

This hotel will soon have an upgrade so if you want all new and shiny, look elsewhere for now. In the meantime there were some beautiful elements. The whole place had a New Orleans feel. Lots of good choices for breakfast. The staff helped arrange a shuttle to take us to a dinner show nearby. We missed most of the evening social, but did each get a drink. We were pleased with our weekend. The only issue was tat the dishes from room service are just left in the hall. We had dishes sitting... Read more

The staff is great in this hotel and they seem to be aware that the place needs an update sooner rather than later. There are placards in the lobby showing some of the planned updates and remodeling... sooner rather than later would be recommended. The staff bends over backward to make up for the aging infrastructure.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites over Memorial Day weekend after a day at Arlington Park. We had a lovely stay. Location: For Arlington Park, the location is ideal. I think it is a 5 mile, easy drive to the park. There are several restaurants nearby to choose from but, except for the one actually in the hotel, probably not walking distance. Room: Our room was a first floor suite. We were a bit hesitant about the noise that may be associated with a first floor room but there was no reason... Read more

We spent one night on the Embassy Suites after a day at Arlington Park. While, I would agree with some prior posts, it is somewhat dated, I would also suggest that it is quite charming. The lobby area, with a nice fountain and comfortable seating was very inviting. The evening cocktail reception was fine. The snacks were not quite as robust as those I've had other Embassy Suites and it was quite crowded. However, it was a holiday weekend. We had a great and very quiet night's sleep in a ... Read more

We were staying at this hotel for a chess tournament in Wheeling (this was the only lodging available). To begin, I was disappointed to walk into an older, more-worn lobby with dated cobblestone hallways and barren pillars with white paint slowly peeled off over time in certain spots. My favorite aspect of Embassy Suites' lobbies, though, is the abundance of plants and "nature," so the fountain near the breakfast area was relaxing! However, the main floor is in dire need of renovations in genera... Read more

Older place that needs an update. They have posters up showing plans to update the hotel. May need to start checking to see when the place will be under construction. It's a major update so staying there should be awful and it will be priced that same. Located in a good area for food, shopping and movies. I think the breakfast service needs to be corrected and cleaner.

Nice property, perfect for the business traveler. Several good restaurants within a mile of hotel, or you could have a decent meal onsite. The included morning breakfast bar is a quick and easy way to start the day. Don't expect it to be anything special, just basic. We took a look at the evening reception, but decided to skip trying any of the offerings. The property is clean and the beds are comfy, but rooms are a little shabby around the edges. Alright, so let me start out by saying there are no perks at the hotel for us at the Gold level of the HHonors program. I have heard my colleague at the diamond level get some nicer corner rooms but I did not even receive a bottle of water upon check-in on an evening when the hotel was 60% occupied. I was traveling with my wife and 2 sons (aged 2 & 3) for a weekend stay between Chicago and Milwaukee. It was great to have breakfast available each morning. Unfortunately it was never much more than luke warm and it was hard to find a clean table to sit at. The pool was the perfect temperature. I hate freezing in the pool, but it was comfortable enough to jump right in. Hot tub was nice too. The size of the room was nice with an extra sink by the bed (outside of the bathroom). The hotel is just down a little bit from the Renaissance Convention Center, within a less than 5 minute drive while encountering no traffic to the convention center. Decent hotel but the HHonours included free wifi was really slow. The available wired connection didn't work. Morning cooked to order breakfast is excellent as always. The evening "Managers reception" is good if you start drinking at 5:30, but the little snacks are a bit on the cheap side. I would stay here again.

I usually stay in the same room (M-Th) each week. After several weeks of noticing a spot on the duvet cover, I began to suspect that the covers were not being changed between guests. The hotel is just starting a remodel project. That is a really good thing. While the hotel is clean, it was dated. The remodel is needed to bring it up to what is needed to compete today. I have stayed at this hotel more than once with my family. It is old. And we knew it would be. So, we had low expectations. But the hotel totally was a LOT worse than expected. The people working here are amazing! We were visiting for our twin daughters birthday. We unfortunately had several issues. The tv, internet, quality of the rooms... I could go on, but I'll just say this; the staff kept us here!! We will be back after the renovation.

This hotel is under construction to be renovated. It is an older hotel, so the renovations are needed. I must say the bed in this hotel have some of the best nights' sleep that I have had in a while. The breakfast wasn't the best I've had at an Embassy, but it was good enough. The customer service at the front desk was awesome and my room was cleaned to perfection each day. My only complaint would be some of the noises that come with construction.

I booked a non-refundable room with very little discount because I trust Embassy Suites, but was disappointed. We were in a second floor room and the view was an awful site of a dirty gravel top roof. They are remodeling and it is much needed as our room was outdated. I believe they must be working from the top down. We usually love Embassy Suites and stay in them often, but this was not our best stay. We still enjoyed the reception in the evening and the breakfast in the morning although t... Read more

Considering the rep of Embassy Suites I was shocked at the quality of the room...very poor with mold, gnats and mis-match ceiling tiles. AC Unit sounded like a Harley Davidson when it came on. I will continue to stay at Embassy Suites...just not this one.

The suites are so cute, clean, smartly laid out, and high quality. Please do not remodel! The look is a blend of french quarter and western europe. The suites are like mini apartmemts with a fridge, microwave, wetbar, kitchen table, chaise sectional, 2 tvs, and a separate bedroom with armoirs for closets. The layout was so charming. Again, stop the remodel please!

There isn't a chance I would stay there again until the place has been remodeled. Everyone at the event commented about how Hilton should be embarrassed by the hotel's condition. Of the three in our party, only one room was ready early which was fine. The issue was the room provided had an open door and the room wasn't clean. They finally got us a clean room so we could change for a business meeting.

Was supposed to stay at this hotel for one night in early September, however, my trip plans ended up changing and I was unable to go. I called the hotel back at the end of July to cancel my reservation. When I checked my credit card statement today I saw that I was charged $125 for the room in which I cancelled! I proceeded to call the hotel and was put through to a woman (not sure what her name was). She was extremely rude on the phone!!! She said if I did not have a cancellation number she w... Read more
