My husband and I stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites 8/26-8/28. We checked in online and had chosen a room on the 3rd floor facing the pond that is located behind this hotel. My husband and I stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites 8/26-8/28. We checked in online and had chosen a room on the 3rd floor facing the pond that is located behind this hotel. Due to traffic being light, we arrived an hour early of the 3pm check-in time. Upon arrival at 2pm, we inquired if we could check in early. Unfortunately, our requested room was not available and/or cleaned yet. We were offered another room if we wanted to switch, but we were confident that we had picked a great room online and decided to wait. We asked if the staff minded if we wandered the hotel while waiting. They had no issues and ensured us that we were welcome to explore anywhere that we might want. My husband and I immediately went to the 3rd floor where our room was supposed to be. The first thing that we noticed was the ice maker was out of order and "Parts had been ordered". The second thing that we noticed was that the room we were assigned to, still had a "Do not disturb" sign on the door. Maybe the guest that stayed previously forgot to remove the sign, or maybe the guest was still sleeping in at 2pm. We saw housekeeping, Which consisted of one woman on this floor, several doors down. Since we had a previously arranged appointment at 330pm, it was imperative that we checked in and settled our belongings by 315pm. Neither my husband or I wanted to gamble at the chance that the housekeeper could actually make it to the room (that still appeared occupied) and thoroughly clean it with new bedding in our time frame. We went back downstairs and asked if any rooms were available on the 1st floor, facing the pond. Luckily, there was a room available, and we couldn't have asked for a better, or more convenient location!
We were assigned to room 139 -- A king bed, non-smoking room. The room was just a couple doors down from a side entrance and just a few steps away from the pool entrance. This made it very easy to unload our luggage and run back to the car for the the small things we left inside during our short stay. Our room was small, but very appealing! The furniture and bed were arranged in a way that it made the room feel much larger than what it was. Something intriguing to us was the bathroom. The bathroom was offset in the front of the room, and slid diagonally. What should have been the rest of the bathroom, was sectioned off as the closet in the bedroom area. The doors to the closet were brilliant! They definitely made a focal point in the room itself. Never once did the 2 of us feel cramped in this room. The bed was spotless, and the linens smelled fresh. We did notice a crack in the bedroom window, and it was on the inside glass, which definitely poses a safety hazard to anyone running their hand/finger along it. The mini fridge had a tray full of water under the supposed 'freezer" section, and a Walgreen's store brand bottle of water was in there from a previous guest. The fridge had a control knob, but at even the highest setting, it was never cold. We relied on our own cooler the entire weekend. The room was clean of dust, but the floors needed a definite vacuum and the tile of our entry way had a broken piece of glass in it. These are small complaints on an otherwise perfect room! If this hotel amped up housekeeping, It would be the best hotel ever!
When we arrived back at the hotel on our first night, we retreated to the courtyard. The courtyard consists of an area, in the middle of the hotel, only accessible from either the main lobby or the pool. The courtyard had 3 redwood tables with umbrellas, 3 chairs each, and then a gas grill tucked into the corner. This became our favorite area of the entire hotel! It was peaceful and serene. Never once did this area fill with guests. This is a perfect area for enjoying a few drinks or having a relaxing smoke. We enjoyed more hours in this courtyard than we did our actual room!
Morning breakfast was limited, but very good. Bagels, yogurt, lemon cake, waffles, sausage etc... While it isn't cooked to order, it's still something in your stomach to start the day. The orange juice was not the best, but the apple juice was fantastic! The coffee was great as well.
On our second night, My husband and I were trying to decide on dinner. I suggested to my husband that he should go to the front counter and ask for local take-out places that delivered. Luckily for us, Jeremy was on duty and he was more than willing to suggest a few local places, give us menus and offer us his own personal feedback. While we were reading menus. Jeremy came and asked us if we had decided on a place and offered his honest opinion! I appreciated his attentiveness! We decided on a local pizza place (That had free delivery thanks to Jeremy and the coupon he gave us) but ordered only sandwiches. Our food was delivered, piping hot, to the hotel courtyard where we were drinking. Jeremy came out later to make sure that we had received our food. He asked our feedback on the food, and talked for a good amount of time. Jeremy made honest conversation that made his interactions so personal, that I felt like I was talking with a lifelong friend. This young man knows how to treat his guests! After he went back on duty, he came back out several times, just to see if we needed anything. I appreciated this wholeheartedly! Jeremy made the time to make us feel special. Even after his shift ended, Jeremy made the effort to come visit us one last time, just to talk sports with my husband and wish us a safe trip home. He wasn't being paid, his shift was over, and yet he stayed to make us feel important and cared for! That is commendable! Any member of management reading this should pat Jeremy on the back! He oozes Hilton standards and he does it by just being himself. Conrad would be proud of the exemplary service Jeremy provides!
This hotel is one of the very rare Hilton brands that offer Reward Stays for 10,000 points. I did use reward points to stay, but I will gladly pay full price now that I know the exceptional service I will get. My husband and I are already planning another trip back! I will not hesitate to recommend this beautiful hotel to everyone that I know! If you have any problems, Ask for Jeremy on the 3pm-11pm shift! He will make everything perfect!
