I arrived for a 2 day visit event at Northwestern University which is a very short walk from the hotel. I came in on a red eye that I was unable to sleep on and a pretty bad cold to top it off. When I arrived at 9 a.m. The hotel staff was so nice and said they'd get me in as soon as a room opened up. By 11 a.m. I was tucked in bed! I can't thank the staff enough for that, considering I had a meeting at 3 p.m. The room was spacious and well furnished. The bathroom was clean and the shower was gre... Read more

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for two nights for a family event at a group rate. It served its purpose, and it is conveniently situated near where we needed to be, as well as to Northwestern U. and shops. Rooms are ordinary and somewhat dated. Wifi in the rooms is practically useless. One of the ironies of the Hilton chain's branding of its properties is the more you pay for status, the less you receive in amenities. I am a Northwestern alum and worked for the business school from 2013 to 2015 while living in Brazil. Every time I spent time on campus, I stayed here as it is the best value in Evanston. I recently returned for my 30th Kellogg Reunion and am happy to report that the quality is still there. Although I skipped breakfasts, the aromas I walked thru as I rushed out the door lead me to believe that the breakfasts are still awesome too!

Although lobby and public areas seemed to have been recently renovated, the room was OLD and DIRTY. The carpet was filthy, the shower was not well-cleaned (I had to clean it myself before being able to use it), and the shower also had a very slow drain. The room was overpriced as well. Tornadoes were scheduled to come through the area, and the hotel provided no instructions on where to go to be safe if need be. With other, newer hotels in town, it does not make sense to book here!

Over all a pretty good hotel. Clean and in a great location if you are visiting the Evanston area. This hotel does have a few quirks which includes slow interest and check in (front desk seems to be on the phone a lot), but the staff is helpful, walking distances to Northwestern, restaurant and other business. This is an urban area so you will need to pay for parking, but it is relativity low cost and very easy to get to and from the hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located in the Center of Evanston within walking distance to Northwestern University and shops/restaurants. Parking is in a nearby garage for $10/day. The hotel is a typical Hilton Garden Inn. Rooms are clean, modern but not that large. It was a bit challenging with the room size to get our toddler to sleep but otherwise I have no complaints. There wasn't anything special about the hot... Read more

This Isn't a bad hotel, but it's just not a great hotel. We stayed over the weekend when the Cubs played in the World Series. Rooms were affordable in Evanston, although fully booked. The Hilton Garden Inn staff greeting us warmly. There were other reviews about a rude staff, but we didn't experience that at all. In fact, the staff, their friendliness really was the most outstanding part of the stay. They greeted us warmly, and gave great recommendations for a fun spot to watch Friday nig... Read more

My third stay at this hotel and have enjoyed the staff and convenience both to Northwestern University and downtown Evanston. The staff have recommended excellent restaurants. I have walked to most places but there is a shuttle during certain hours that will drop you off in a 5 mile radius. The parking garage is also adjacent to the hotel and easy to use however there is a charge. Will stay here again.

We arrived early for a campus visit at nearby Northwestern University. The front desk easily accommodated us, even though it was well before check-in time. The room was spacious and comfortable, although overlooked a parking lot. The hotel really won us over with a free shuttle service to the downtown restaurant we chose for dinner. Would definitely stay again.

The front desk staff were very accommodating to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The room was very clean and had an micro wave and refrigerator. We had the breakfast buffet for $12.99 with many choices. There are many restaurants in walking distance. I would recommend this hotel if you in the Evanston. Il area. We were at basketball Games at Northwestern very close by.

The parking is extremely inconvenient at this property. You have to turn in your ticket every time you come and go and it is public parking so there is no designated hotel parking. If it gets busy you have to wait long stretches to get in and out. If you are driving a vehicle, you should strongly consider another property in the area. Also, the front desk service is disengaged and not at all accommodating.
