"The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Our room was spacious and clean as well but not without faults. The fan wasn't working in our bathroom so when we showered, the mirrors would fog up and it would be hard to see yourself, real issue when shaving and grooming in particular. The air conditioning was a problem too, simply either too cold or too hot, no easy function to control it. A major issue was we smelt smoke in our room like something was burning and called the concierge to investigate. They assured us they would follow up and even check our room to ensure there wasn't a problem. We never heard back from them, they insisted there wasn't a problem and had no retort to why they never visited our room. The worst part was they never followed up with us rather we had to follow up with them. Bottom line, hotel has it's perks as its in a good central part of downtown, minutes from Harrison subway station and it's a nice hotel in general but for the price and the number of other hotels in the area. I would opt to go somewhere else upon my next visit to Chicago."

"Hello to whom it may concern:

First of all I was very disappionted that your hotel did NOT have a pool for one thing I /we had traveled all day and wanted to take a swim when I got there at the Windham.
Secondly your staff was not very knowledgeable about the comings and goings around the hotels vicinity. For instance, I asked about a rental car on Saturday and they did not know that the rental car agency was closed inside the city? The only place we could rent a car was at the airport. Why didn't they know this?
Several other questions were asked that they did not know the answers to either. Poor training or? Attitude? RSVP"

"Great Location, Great Hotel.....would recommend this as a nice central location if you are interested in the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Grant Park and don't mind a walk of 1 miles. Cab ride was never more than $10 to Pier and shopping if you so choose. We took the train in from Dearborn, MI and it was nice as we only had about 4-5 blocks to walk to the hotel.
The staff was great and helpful for recommending places to eat. Our room and bathroom were very large and clean. Thanks! I'm sure we'll be back....hopefully soon!"

"Hotel was nice but a bit pricey for what you didnt get. We felt that we could have got more for the price. No extras like breakfast or an ice/candy/soda machine on each floor. Bathroom shower was ungrouted and stained. our room also had air conditiong problems... on all the time full tilt! I had it at 80 and it felt like 60. My lungs were burning. Staff was awesome. Very friendly and more than eager to offer tourist recomendations and support."

"The hotel was very welcoming! This was the second time I stayed here and will definitely stay there on my next trip. The room was clean, bedding fresh, room smelled fresh but not perfumy. Front Desk service was very welcoming and friendly and 'Showtime' was great as always."

"We just returned from our visit to Chicago. The Wyndham Blake was a great place to stay. We were able to check in early with no problems and our room was great. It was very clean and was quite large. The staff were extremely helpful. The concierge was very helpful with information for getting around the city and also very friendly. Even the staff we passed in the hallway would smile and say hello. The location was fine for us. The weather was exceptionally warm for this time of year so we gladly walked to most locations. When we were tired of walking we could easily catch the subway near our hotel. Overall, a great experience. We would definitely stay here again!"

"My husband and I went to Chicago for 5 days. The hotel was an excellent location, very easy to use train and bus to get to the museums, hot restaurants, and shopping. The room was well appointed and comfortable. My only complaint was that the heating/cooling system rattled quite a bit when it was in 'standby' mode. We sleep with ear plugs, so it didn't bother us. But I know it would bother others. Also, when we booked, they were offering free coffee/pastries in the AM, but that was discontinued."
