My boss and I happened to stumble upon this gem as we didn't want to be at the same hotel as our recent conference. She is a techy person and LOVED that they had an app, I liked that it is the cleanest hotel in Chicago. Upon arrival I was not disappointed. Took an Uber from O'Hare. Less than $30. The staff was SO friendly my entire visit. Jesse and James were the two front desk people upon my arrival. Throughout my stay, all the desk staff was friendly. James, you are top notch! This hotel is super cool! Everything is very modern and has a space like feel. The staff is very nice and the rooms were great. they definitely make a small space feel big. The hotel is in a great location for walking everywhere. It was nice that they had a free happy hour but the wait to get a drink is long.

I loved my room and the personalized experience at being at Virgin Hotels. Here's how it went when I arrived: 1. Arrived at hotel at 12 PM and got checked in right away 2. Upon getting inside my room, found a hand-written card (or at least it looked like it), and my favorite candy bar :D The happy hour was really fun as well (7-8 PM Daily). Can't wait to go back!!!

From room design to the team here, I have no words. They were absolutely outstanding. Special shout out to Brian- who helped with our luggage- so upbeat as soon as you enter the place after a long day. James at the front desk- phew- love his glasses and personality. My stay was comfortable and good sleep. Nice hip hotel with very nice decoration and bathroom amenities. But my coworkers were staying in rooms facing the street and they cannot sleep at all because of all the noise from the metra. The hotel provided ear plugs but they still can't sleep. Free wifi is good and fast connection even during peak hours at night.

Too much soft bed. The same problem was in other rooms, as I heard by my colleagues. Too much loud due to Metro. A complimentary couples of ear plugs were given. A minimalistic reception reduces costs but also the services. Very central location.

From the moment I arrived, the service was excellent. I am a 60 something woman and the young staff was extremely courteous and helpful and did not belittle me for my lack of technology skills. The room was "funky", but well adorned and had plenty of light and plugs on just about every wall. Excellent space and I especially liked the large dressing area. The location for my business meetings was perfect, although the noise from the "L" would have been a problem without the earplugs the hotel p... Read more

I had a great 1-night stay here during two days in Chicago following a wedding. Having the entry/dressing space separate gave it a nice feeling. The toilet and shower are also separate, which can be handy when traveling with someone. The bedroom part was small, but we went with the cheaper room, and the bed was very comfortable. It was great having a kettle in the room, and the minibar prices are so reasonable that you can rationally consume some of the items if you want! The location is ideal: ... Read more

I know it's Chicago and relatively small rooms are to be expected, but at $250/night + $65/night for parking I didn't expect to be staying in a place the size of Oprah Winfrey's guest bedroom closet. The sliding door that cut the room in half didn't help, and the brick wall just a few feet outside room 412 at the northeast end just added to the sense of no space to breath. Loved the space and they have done an amazing job of rooms in terms of style and space. Reception is pretty small but check-in was super efficient via receptionist ipad. Love the building - original old office building which has retained some of the original features. The corridors done with style and some quirky elements ( such as the dog) but tasteful. The rooms are great - nice flooring, separate shower room, separate toilet - and felt pretty spacious. Didn't get to try the roof bar or res... Read more

My husband & I had a rare kid-free weekend in Chicago and decided to book our room for two night at the Virgin hotel just south of the river. As soon as we checked in we knew we had picked an amazing hotel :) The staff knew ahead of time it was our wedding anniversary and had sent a lovely bottle of wine up to our room. Working for a Virgin company I know what it is to be part of the brand but even I was shocked by how obvious it was this hotel belonged to Virgin, from the staff to the decor to the app the whole experience was brilliant and undoubtedly Virgin. The rooms had everything we needed and the staff were helpful. Happy hour in the commons club is a must and drinks on the roof provide a great backdrop.

Rooms are well designed, beds and bedding are fabulous, and even the AM coffee tray is a step above the norm for a 4-5 star hotel. The "faux suite" design of the room (with doors that separate the bedroom from the entry hall/bath area) is brilliant and very practical for couples with different wake up times.

Not much to say other than they did a great job on all to be expected at a nice hotel. Friendly desk help. Nice design of rooms made it feel almost like a suite. Clean rooms and service on time. They let us check in a little early with no hassle. We were on the 9th floor and the "L" train didn't bother us at all. We didn't use the room service. Bar/restaurant was nice as well. Geat location too. Close to L train, Michigan ave and also near many restaurants/bars all withing easy 5 min walks.

Not only did I have OUTSTANDING hospitality while staying at the Virgin Hotel, but the decor and atmosphere has me so engaged every time I was walking around it. From the cassette tape room key, to the re-imagined art using animals. It's just a fun hotel. And the room was comfortable and relaxing. Can't say enough great things!

The hotel room would get 5 stars if it wasn't for the constant train noise from the 'el' across the street. We were on the 5th floor and the noise is pretty loud day and night, it's a very busy train loop. Perhaps you don't hear it so much on the higher floors but it is a real issue for lighter sleepers on the lower floors. I'm surprised that they didn't triple glaze the windows on these floors as they certainly have the room given the deep window spaces. We were in a Grand Chamber King room... Read more

Brilliant as Sir Richard would say. Happy to have all business necessities so assessable. Fast wifi, slick decor and electric plugs in the right places. Would definitely recommend this spot. Upstairs bar - Commons was a groovy spot they were entertaining a music personality but our waiter was attentive in spite of the chaos. Would love to try the rooftop bar that was closed onMonday - maybe my next visit

We only stayed 2 nights but what a fantastic experience! The customer service was just perfect, great atmosphere, the room was clean, modern and very convenient. The only shadow in the picture would be the noise from the train in the street but not enough not to highly recommend this place. We know where to stay next time we'll visit Chi city!

Typically I'm a champion of the brand. Having flown at least 300 Virgin Atlantic flights in the last decade and been a Virgin Mobile customer for too long to remember, you develop an expectation with a business that represents the brand. Check in was painless and the staff very friendly. My one issue was with security asking each night whether we were guests when returning to the hotel. I get it, a lot of people check in and out, but by day 3 you should have a semblance of seeing the same faces... Read more

Virgin Hotel Chicago is a nice hotel. I was in a large room and they have great service. If you go, check out the free happy hour they offer and try to take a complimentary ride in the Tesla. The hotel is right next to the subway so it can be loud for some people but they do have earplugs if you want to use them. I do think they have too much technology in their design so some things, like turning off lights, can become strangely confusing.

They're not hard to move around in. It think of an old chicago building, restored. Very cool concept with sliding doors, light dimmers, rocket ship concept, etc. GORGEOUS rooftop and your location couldn't be any better. Centrally located to everything

This hotel is perfect. The rooms are clean, spacious, with modern furniture and impressive attention to detail! The value of money is beyond high because you really get more than expected when it comes to the location, staff, and ambience. This is a really cool hotel and I would stay there every time. Tip: it seems like Uber X is cheaper than Chicago taxis, especially Uber X Pool.

Cool interior. Room size are ok but that's what it is for a metropolitan city. The bed was nice. We were at level 11 and could hear the subway train noises but we live in London so I'm used to it. Staffs are really friendly. The cocktail hour is really good and made it extra service. They have a god selection too and the bar is really cool and fun. We got a late checkout at 1:30pm which is valuable. We did try to get it later but unfortunately not available.

This was one of the nicest boutique hotels I have ever stayed at. Our room was not huge but it was really well thought out and the small space was very user friendly. The decor was really cool too. Loved the bathroom shower tile. The staff was amazing. We wanted to go to the LuLu Lemon store on Michigan Ave. and since it was bit far we were going to hail a cab. The concierge gave us ride for free in the hotels Tesla instead of calling a cab. I thought that was a nice touch. We were only there fo... Read more

This hotel is what every other hotel should aspire to be, this is proper top notch first class hotel experience. On our arrival we had an amazing welcome from the front desk staff. We checked in so quickly and we're in our room in five mins! The room all we can is wow! A modern, fabulous designed room, split between dressing area and large bedroom. Virgin Hotel is quite possibly the most fun hotel in the world. When I travel I usually like to try new places just to see what is out there but I find myself going back to them again and again because they are just that good. They have a million thoughtful little details to make your stay wonderful. Housekeeping is efficient and will service your room at your convenience. The mini-bar is stocked with great selections at a price point much lower than most hotel mini-bars. The robes are fluf... Read more

Excellent vibe with rooftop bar and an indoor club on Friday night. Stayed in a suite which was large and well decorated. Overall service and fit and finish were above expectations. Be sure to make the free happy hour, we met some great people.

Coolest stay. It's everything I expected. I love the cool simplicity. The staff are hip, friendly and informative. I love the location, right in the hub of it all. This is our new favorite stay while in Chicago.
