Great rooms, good size, beautiful bathrooms, heavenly bed (very comfy). Good location, maybe a bit further south than we like but right on the river near the City Walk. Much nicer than we expected. Would definitely stay there again. Having stayed on more than 20 hotels in Chicago, the rooms and the comfort at this hotel are in the top 5.

The staff - cleaning staff; wait staff are great. The rooms are fine- nothing fantastic but nothing wrong. Management is a nightmare. I was overcharged on my bill and asked it to be fixed when I checked out. Twice. I was told it would be fixed. I was charged the wrong amount on my credit card. Four phone calls later (two to SPG and two to the hotel) my bill is still not correct. And the best part is when the front desk manager told me I should be grateful for what I was charged as the... We were pretty satisfied with our recent stay. There were some minor issues which we'll detail later in this review, but overall, we were pretty happy with the hotel, and the standout was the hotel gym. The hotel is in a great location for walking -- easy to get to the lakefront, right on the river which has riverfront walking paths, and close to shopping if that's your thing (not ours). There are lots of what most would consider high quality restaurants around -- we like more healthy fare, so t... Read more

Have been staying here for 5 years in a row and always wonderful service from the moment you arrive until check out. If available, ask for River view as it's magnificent, specially at sundown... that is, if you're not in the bar sipping on a wonderful cocktail.

Nice stay - was bumped to a Deluxe room because I have a co-branded SPG American Express. Nice view from the room, staff was very friendly at the front desk, bar, and banquets. They did a very nice job all around.

The Westin River North was in a great location. There were many great restaurants in the area and it was only a few blocks from the L, so it was easy to get around the city. The room was beautiful and the beds were so comfortable. We stayed here with our two young kids and would definitely pick this hotel again for our next trip.

Great location. You can walk everywhere easily from the Westin. Shopping, restaurants, and the Lake. I didn't eat at the hotel but did use the Starbucks. The hotel was very dog friendly. The room was spacious. Stayed on preferred floor. There was a rain shower in the bath.

This was a amazing hotel!!!! Very friendly staff. It was just a few blocks from the blue line, red line and brown line subways. It is also in the loop part of the subways so you can go anywhere from them. Also the blue line is what we took from O hate airport too so just a few blocks from the hotel. We walked to navy pier, the Willis Tower, the Hancock building too. Lots of restaurants and bars just right down the block. There is also a fed ex right in the building too. Attended a conference at the Hotel. Great location right on the river--easy access to restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. Everyone here was very attentive to detail and to making sure my stay was top notch. From the time I checked in at the front desk until the time I left, the entire staff is on board in making sure you are well taken care of. Can't wait to come back!

The hotel is centrally located and there is easy access to public transport, shopping and restaurants. The room was clean, comfortable and modern. The pinnacle of my stay was the customer service, which went above and beyond all expectation. I arrived late, around 9:45pm, and I needed a suit pressed. By the time I asked them about the suit it was nearly 10 and they mentioned that I may have missed the deadline to get the suit pressed. They took the suit and told me they'd be in touch. Withi... Clean room but the worst we have stayed in. Two small desk drawers, total, for clothes. Closet ok but only a few hangers. They did bring up more when it was requested. We are living out of our suitcase. One small bench to sit on. Lighting is very dark. Very disappointing after reading the reviews. The location is fine...noisy neighborhood but good for those wanting activity. Nice outdoor area over the river.

This Westin is pretty dark inside no matter how sunny it is outside. That being said the decor from lobby to lounge is exquisite. We checked in early on a busy Father's Day with the Cubs games all weekend long. That was no problem for the Westin staff. They were able to have our suite ready and provide a late checkout on our day of departure. The service was fantastic. We stayed at the Westin while in Chicago for a wedding. The location is great as its right on the river and the beautiful new river walk and close to restaurants, shopping and the Lake. You can't go wrong with a stay at a Starwood property. I love the chaise lounge they have in the room. We had a city view. For a city hotel, the rooms are spacious. This Westin heavenly bed was more firm than normal. Coffee pot and mini bar in the room. Easy access to train lines. Red line - Grand and State. Or cross the river to the blue lines to ORD or orange lines to MDW.

I had a chance to try most of the amenities at the Westin River North during my five night business stay. First, the Heavenly bed and Heavenly shower sets the standard at this price point. The food was solid, although the River North neighborhood has an abundance of restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The gym is modern and surprisingly spacious, with free weights, treadmills, and machines. My favorite part - the hotel is located at one end of the river trail which stretches to the lakefron... Just two nights in a large, comfortable junior suite. The staff were unerringly kind, and the room was large, comfortable, and spotless. The club lounge was closed for renovations as was the lobby bar. I'm sure that these will be of a high standard once they are in place. The room was quite hot, but it was a hot day in Chicago. Recently stayed at the Westin River North. Fidel, our Bell Capitan, was absolutely extraordinary. We were on our way to dinner only to discover a pop-up thunderstorm. He was not about to have our evening ruined, so he gave us his umbrella to ensure we didn't get wet. WOW. He didn't have to do that....but he did and we'll not forget it. There are so many great places we could stay in Chocago, but it's service like that that makes you choose to return.

Good central location. Short walk to Grant Park. About 4 blocks to Redline train which we took to Wrigley Field for a game. We had a river view room which was a beautiful view. We are repeat guests at the Westin River North and choose it because it is upscale without being outrageously expensive or pretentious, and it is very central yet away from Michigan Ave. foot and street traffic. The downside for us is parking, but that is a problem in most city hotels. We had breakfast in the executive lounge on the 20th floor, where service is remarkably attentive.
