"The Tremont is a relatively small hotel just off Michigan Ave along Chicago's 'Magnificent Mile'. The hotel was very clean, the room was relatively spacious (king size bed) with lots of windows (corner room) and free in-room wi-fi. Not a lot of amenities, but it is a great value for the cost and in a great location--if you are spending a lot of time in the room you are not taking advantage of all this location has to offer--great restaurants, shopping, etc all in easy walking distance. Front office staff very friendly and helpful. SPG property. I will definitely stay here again!"

"Pros: location, good choice of TV channels, decent bed and... location!
Cons: they put us in a studio with a view to the back alley with garbage bins. Someone constantly checked their contents all night long, so we had to listen to the sound of dropping lids.
Also, on our second night, we couldn't open the door: our keys somehow 'expired' and we had to go down to the office and have them re-programmed.
During check-out, I overheard an lederly couple in front of me complain about a parking charge that hotel applied to their credit card, even though they did not park at the hotel.
But the 'best' part was a couple of days after we arrives home: a third night got somehow charged to my credit card! I had to call Reservations, they switched me to Accounting which of course was never available, only the answering machine. Finally, I had my bank call them directly. I got reimbursed but lost about $5 due to exchange rates"

"The Tremont in chicago is a wonderful place to stay. Hotel is wonderful. People are friendly and helpful. Elevator is very slow and small. So take the stairs and stay in shape. I did that most of the time. This hotel is located in a perfect location on the Magnificent Mile close to everything.

Cant wait to go again.

"Could not use the ceiling was connected to a light at the switch at the door. Room was not cleaned on Saturday. Room was pre-paid and they recharged my account and over drawn it. Room was real small and only one night stand used a suit case for another night stand. 2 bath towels for 2 people. Tub wouldn't drain but they did take care of that. This was a Christmas gift because I have never been in Chicago before."

"The hotel is in a great location, but seriously needs some upgrades.

The bad: The room i stayed in was in need of recaulking around the tub and toilet as there was mold and mildew visible, which I found disgusting. The doors and wood molding were all chipped and needed to be repaired. Not that I was living in my hotel room, but there were only 17 total TV channels available. The levator was slow and dingy (smoke detector was covered with dust and the freight elevator was still moving when the door opened and I got off; ended up tripping because of that). There are no ice makers available nor options to have a fridge in the room. The lobby smells like my grandmothers house.

The good: The staff was friendly and the fireplace in the lobby was especially appreciated when coming back in from a frigid Chicago day. The bed was also very comfortable as were the linens.

As stated above, it was a great location, but being the frugal person that I am, I would have spent an extra $100 to stay at one of the competitors, which I had lodged at before."

"Great location. Right off Magnificent Mile. Close to everything. Very clean. The most comfortable bed I've been in. Wiring is old but you can get your electronics charged. Missed having a kettle or microwave in the room. Starbucks across the street"

"my first visit to chicago we looked at the hotel on the pc,the room sure didn,t look like in picture! No coffee machine,no microwave,no refrig.Our window looked out to a huge air con. the ice machine was 3 floors down,the room was so small,the last day there we booked out but left our bags at front desk,4 hours later we came back to pick up our bags and i remembered i left my headphones on bed,well there just disappeared.I left my phone number but of course never heard from them.will never stay there again!"

"The hotel is in a great location: one block off North Michigan Ave. We had a view of the John Hancock, Water Tower Place and Lake Michigan from our corner room. For the price, it was an excellent value. However, our room could have used a little bit of touch up paint. I would highly recommend the hotel, if you're traveling with a child and going to be out and about most of the day! The hotel is adjace to Ditka's Restaurant."
