The rooms are on the top floor (40) of the building offering large windows with incredible views. The Club is on the edge of town and feels Old Chicago-ish, even though the building is modern-you even open your hotel door with a real key. If the rooms were upgraded I would rate excellent. There is a meager continental breakfast offering on the 40th floor each morning. I would stay again at the right price.

The room was awesome! Very clean, we were on the 40th floor, so the night lights and view was amazing. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. That being said, it was difficult to find the place. We circled the block about 4 times before finding how to navigate the one way streets, and finding a public place to park. The address on the building says FOUR 40. Parking will cost you $37.00 per day. So if you park on a Thursday and leave on a Saturday, you will pay $74.00 just for parking.... Read more

I am not sure how this property is getting such good reviews. Its not bad, but it isnt that great either. The hotel is in a commercial building. Doesnt look like a hotel. This is just another 3 star hotel with a 5 star price.

I think everyone can agree that the hotel offers some amazing views unfortunately that is the one and only good thing about this hotel and the information on here is inaccurate or at least misleading it reads that it offers free breakfast I stayed there there was no free breakfast it also claims that they offer room service will they do but only on certain days and certain times I also filled their security measures are inadequate as they still leave the room number on the key so if you were to ... I must admit the hotel is bit confusing, primarily because it only exists on one floor of a much larger building. The benefit to travelers is that the hotel occupies the 40th floor, which provides some stunning view of the financial district of Chicago. There is something memorizing about sitting in a chair by the window and gazing out at the magnificent Willis Tower. The rooms were more than sufficient, with high ceilings and a HD TV that actually receives HD channels (a small pet peeve of m... Read more

Booked 3+months prior based on positive comments about the spectacular views...thought I'd spend a bit more here since we were celebrating a special occasion. Is there a "bad" view in this place? Well, yes, you actually can be disappointed. The south views aren't great. The customer service isn't great. At checkin, desk clerk advised me to remember my room number which I promptly wrote up to the room and it was only starting to be cleaned...the cleaning person in the room snipped t... Read more

I have nothing but good things to say about our stay! Everything was great, amazing view, free breakfast, clean room, friendly and helpful staff. Got a great deal on We will definitely stay here again next time we visit. Parking was tricky, but it's Chicago, it's tricky to park anywhere. We left our car in the underground garage, and either walked or used the subway.

The hotel is hidden in a financial building with limited quantity of rooms. The location of the hotel is quite convenient. The most amazing thing of the stay is to enjoy the breath-taking view from the window of our room on 40th floor. We even took the deep dish pizza back to the room in order not to miss the magnificent view at night. Strongly recommend for a stay in loop.

Found this hotel as a Hotwire deal and it was a great surprise. I don't normally do boutique hotels but I figured I would try it. After reading reviews I was concerned about checking in and such but I found the process just as easy as any other hotel. The location is great being right off the loop and near the Union Station but the athletic club made the stay. I do try to remain active and find lodging with a wellness center but having access to a premier fitness club as part of your lodging is ... Read more

The best feature of this hotel is the view it offers, although it appears that not all rooms are equally good from that perspective. From our window we had a great view of the Sears Tower on one side and the lake on the other. It was truly breathtaking. Now for the rest of it. The hotel was somewhat difficult to find as it is in a commercial building and we did not see any signs. The hotel takes up a single floor in this building, 40th floor. The garage was confusing. In my opinion, parki... Read more

It was a wonderful 3 night stay. Surely be back here. Surely recommend friends to go for it. Close to to down town close to metra and subways. Eateries are also nearly 3 mints walk. Safe place wonderful for family stay. Cons: walls are thin if you have noisy neighbours you may here noise. Weekends onky have free brakefast. Plan accordingly.

A rather unique hotel with very nice rooms. I did find a few long hairs (mine are short) in the bathroom. However, other than that the room was excellent. The drink and snack bar were obscenely expensive, but the staff and hospitality were excellent. I had forgotten my phone charger and the hostess loaned me her own charger for the duration of my stay. Apparently the athletic club (on the 3rd floor) and hotel (on the 40th floor) were built in 1985 (soon after the office tower opened?) as... Read more

Absolutely awful! Horrible useless staff, old tired rooms, no hotel amenities, awful bed and pillows, minimum of 2 elevators to get to the rooms. This is a "secure" office building with an ill conceived hotel stuck on the top floor. Do not even consider staying here.

When we first checked in, front desk clerk gave us breakfast vouchers that she said were only good on Friday & Monday. She neglected to tell us that Monday the breakfast eatery would be closed and most of Chicago in that area would be closed. We had to walk quite a ways to find breakfast. In-room dining had the wrong menu and there was a big conflict ordering out. So once again, we had to walk a ways for dining. Our bathtub handles were old and in need of repair, as was the sink faucet. We... Read more

I selected this hotel because it looked good and was walking distance from the L train from the airport. It's also walking distance to Union a station from where we were departing. Location is brilliant, in the heart of a vibrant city. The lake views from our room were stunning. Room was beautiful and well appointed. Staff greeted us with a smile, thanks Angela, and could not have been more helpful. Breakfast can be had at an independent restaurant in the building and was awesome. $10 discount g... Read more

The staff make this Hotel: Angela at the Front Desk and Merlan in Reservations made our recent stay so successful. The view of Lake Michigan and the Buckingham Fountain from our room was mesmerising. The ease of transport from O‚??Hare airpot on the Blue line was fantastic, and the options from the LaSalle/van Buren station made it so east to get around. There is Deli right behind the front desk area, and a convenience store in the same building: magic. Can‚??t wait to return: the hotel made our... Read more

Really had a great time at this hotel, I have great and ok feelings about this hotel. Everything about this hotel is awesome the location, staff, view, price, gym are all top notch. But there are a few things that I would improve on. The rooms are a little dated, worm spots on towel racks and fixtures just looks cheap. The one or two issues with my room are something that can be fixed easily. One the blinds do not close the main window in room 12 is wide open and the second issue is th... Read more

We searched long and hard for a nice hotel with a reasonable rate. Located on top of an admin high rise this hotel only has 20 or so rooms. Check in is far from normal as the front desk in the lobby does this task. No fear as the staff were great to deal with. We arrived at 1000pm on a Friday night and were given a quick fun down of facilities. You have full access to gym, pool spa etch. However we were too busy to even have a peek. Staff were knowledgable and very pleasant to deal with. Th... Read more

I enjoyed my stay here. It seems like an office building and they converted the 40th floor into a hotel. The view is amazing from 40th floor!. Rooms are dated but maintained well. The mattress seems to be pretty old and need replacement. It wasn't a satisfying sleep. They give complimentary breakfast but it is probably worst breakfast I've ever saw and I instead had my breakfast from outside. There are not lot of eating places around and it can be a problem for some. However, train line (loop) ar... Read more

Loved the Buckingham Club. It was on the 40th floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange so the views were stunning. The room was clean, the staff helpful and the breakfast was great. Absolutely no complaints and many compliments.
