This hotel was nice, clean and quiet. The staff was awesome and very informative in regards to what to see, where eat, what do so forth and so on. Bloomingdales is literally one block away along with more upscale stores. I was in heaven! We enjoyed hot breakfast bar. There isn't a pool at this location. There are many places to dine, too many to name.

This hotel was in a great location near the lake. It was about 0.5 mile walk from the Orange line and is near all the shopping. We got upgraded to the 1 bedroom suite so that was a plus! Our room was on the 19th floor and we could still hear the noise from the street. There's some construction going on so breakfast was delivered to our room each morning (plus). The bad thing was they delivered an hour earlier than the time we had scheduled it for and it wasn't anything spectacular (powdered... Read more

The hotel is 2 blocks from the John Hancock building. You can't beat the location. It is currently being remodeled so only one elevator was working. Also, breakfast was delivered to the room instead of being a buffet. Both things were no issues for us. You can walk to anything you would like to see. Also a free trolley runs to Navy Pier on Saturdays and Sundays. The trolley stop is a few blocks away. I recommend not using their valet if you have a vehicle. There are plenty of near by ram... Just off Michigan Ave and just around the corner from the beaches on Lake Michigan the location is really good. Very happy with the service. Everyone that I came in contact with was friendly and seemed like they really wanted to be of service. The remodel is still going on so you can either use the main elevator or there is the service elevator that they are also allowing people to use right now...no one seems to use that one. Full kitchen in the room was actually a nice added feature. Defin... Read more

We were here for a week end. Some renovation is going on; so the breakfast is served in bags every morning at your room; near the reception desk, you get free coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The location is very good; at a walking distance from the lake; close to the Magnificent mile. Other than free wifi, TV, etc., they have a lot of amenities like microwave, dishwasher, oven and a whole lot of utensils. I learn most other hotels in the US don't have all these. In India we don't find all the... Read more

I am life time platinum with Marriott with 50 plus nights this year I visited this property booked my room using point and was allotted a bad room. Feels like my loyalty is not being rewarded. Also There breakfast buffet is closed and they serve a boxes breakfast to the room which is of low quality.

I chose this hotel because of our loyalty to the Marriott name and location. Yes, it's very convenient to the Magnificent mile and very close to American Girl, but this does not excuse it's flaws. There was ONE working elevator aside from the service elevator! This does NOT accommodate 17+ floors! Crazy long waits. Our key was deactivated twice..causing us to conquer the elevator waits more than anyone would be ok with! The breakfast is fine if you're starving but served without condiments ... Read more

My family and I make many trips to downtown Chicago and we always stay on/near the magnificent mile. All of our favorites were booked for the Memorial Day weekend, so we decided to try this one and we're really happy that we did! The location is perfect because it's not on the magnificent mile, just around the corner on a nice quiet street about a 2 minute walk away from our favorite stores like American Girl. We were in town for a concert at soldier field, and it was a nice scenic lake view r... Read more

I got a great deal on this hotel room which made me skeptical. When I looked closer I saw in fine print the elevators were being renovated and thought oh that's why. Great. But the elevator was a minor inconvenience. Wonderful location for shopping and restaurants. Very comfortable room, bed was heavenly, the kitchenette was convenient. The breakfast delivered was fine; not sure why I read so many negative reviews about that. It was on time and consisted of an apple, yogurt, orange juice, hash b... Read more

What a nightmare!! I arrived as scheduled at 11:30 pm to be advised that the hotel had overbooked and there were no available rooms. Six other guests arrived at the same time to receive the same greeting. No phone calls, no emails, no advance notice! The hotel advised the nearest available room was at the Marriott O'Hare. If you are traveling on business and need a hotel room you can count on stay somewhere else!!

Location is one of the best! near Michigan Avenue, the Restaurant was out of service and there was one breakfast serving to your room, with meat and eggs, a disaster! we could not eat it. And why just one elevador? lines to get down and up.... maybe we had a terrible bad luck It could be better to put another bed With just few, few dollars you could get something with more value

The hotel is currently under renovations with only one elevator in use and will have no elevator on some days. There is NO POOL. NO PARKING. VALET is $60 per night. The restaurant is closed so although breakfast is included we are getting a box of food. All wheat and dairy so if you have restrictions it is of no use. The first day our breakfast did not show up so we asked for it to come extra early today...still no breakfast and we have to leave. The pull out mattress is so bad it cant b... Read more

My 3 brothers and I took in a Royals baseball weekend and used this hotel. Great deal for a Mag Mile hotel. There is one elevator in the lobby, but the freight elevator around the corner is available too. The breakfast was delivered each morning and provided more than enough food. We had two rooms across the hall from a each other, one next to the freight elevator and the other next to the main elevator. Surprisingly, no noise at all. This hotel is conveniently located to Michigan Avenue and provides easy access for great shopping and find dining. Everything I needed to get to was well within walking distance. There is a restaurant on property, but for the time being it was currently under construction. With that being said, breakfast had to be delivered to the rooms in the morning. It was a pretty basic breakfast just your usual muffin, meat, eggs, And so forth. There was only one elevator in-service too due to renovations. H... Read more

The good. clean, very comfortable room. Good location. Pleasant staff. The bad: promised breakfast is total garbage, until the finish renovation they should not advertise it as included. Motel 6 give a better breakfast. The noise of the renovation was unbearable from 9am one day driving us from the room. Granted it was more deafening in the lobby but it was without warning. Can't you tell us to be out by 9am? The elevator and stair situation is a crap shoot. You can easily be stuck in the lob... Read more

I stayed here over the July 4th weekend. I got an incredible rate through a bidding site, probably because of the on-going renovations to the public area. My stay was ok, but I probably would not stay here again. The location is fine for shopping but not for sightseeing. The hotel is not convenient to public transportation, so I ended up spending more money than expected on taxis and Ubers. To get to and from the river area, the fare was around $7. The location is a little odd and three ... Read more

Convenient location, easy to walk to all restaurants, shopping, tourist attractions. I like how hotels have moved away from oversized lobbies with wasted space. This was a compact front desk, fast checkin, and after that not a lot of interaction needed. No restaurant but none needed. Clean roomy space with mini kitchen which is great for storing bottled water, making drinks etc. what needs work: AC wasn't overly cold, one elevator was out of order so it took a long time to get in and out. I loved my little suite with a kitchen living room and walkin shower it was gorgeous. I only gave it 4 stars because they didn't serve a "real breakfast" (bagels, cereal and yogurt) not sure if this was due to them doing construction at the time and having to serve breakfast in the lobby. Also I didn't like that the wifi seemed to never work for me.

Have stayed here several times for business and the hotel is really a good value for Chicago. It is about 3 blocks from magnificent mile and several good restaurants. It is finishing up renovations which will make it even better. Recommend this hotel for both business and personal.

I am staying here for 2 full weeks on business. This hotel is not as depicted in pictures on this site or the general website. The hotel is old, rooms are small, linens and towels very basic quality. Beds below standard for comparable hotels. The pictures show a big beautiful exercise room and it is very small and cramped. They show nice modern rooms and they are old and more worn down in person. There is only ONE functional elevator for an entire 18 story building. I am spending 30 min... Read more

The breakfast area is closed due to renovations and breakfast is on grab-and-go basis (Note: I received this information only on the day before my arrival at the hotel). This hotel does not deserve to have the Marriott name. Our stay was awful - and as a lifetime Platinum member that has stayed at hundreds of Marriott properties, this one ranks as the worst experience of all time. The problems included (a partial list): #1 - worst internet experience in an least a decade of hotel stays. Service would go in and out, and was very slow when it did connect. We tried four different devices - none had good service. #2 - this hotel does not seem to care about cleanline... Read more

There was ample storage space, and the kitchen had all dishes and utensils included. There was a full fridge, range with oven and stovetop, microwave and dishwasher. I stayed at this hotel for two nights in July with a friend, I was lucky and we got a great friends and family rate through another friend who works for Marriott. This hotel is a little hard to miss because there's no obvious sign on the building but it is in a great location. The magnificent mile is about a 5 minute walk. The lakefront is visible from the front of the hotel and the water tower is right around the corner.
